I was on the M3 "Battle Winnebago" in the 80's and early 90's, you nailed it with the weathering, well done! I expect when it's on its base you will add some footprints near the hatches, we would scrape our boots on the top of the side skirts before getting in.
Thank you! I am glad that the weathering is realistic to your eye as one who served on it. And thank you for the advice...I'll remember that when I make the base. Cheers!
I haven't checked out one of your videos in a few years and it's fun to see how you've advanced. Several years ago I looked at a couple of videos and they seemed to be stuck in sort of boomer/fudd modeller trends somewhat, so I moved on. Very cool to see that you've experimented with newer and different techniques and the results speak for themselves.
Pretty awsome paint job. Your attention to detail, is what gets me. Also a couple of the products you used are new to me. Specifically that color shift pigment for anti-laser reflective coating. Came out realy nice. Well now i need to get back to bench. Thank you for the break.
4:25 woah that AC6 BGM goes so hard with this part of the build. Really captures the feel of the mech, especially with the conflict going on in the real world. Just wanted to say your camo scheme is nice! You have very good control of that airbrush and paint. Thank you for the video!!
For me this is super interesting, the techniques & skill are top level, & the Bradley has so many details to attract the eye. Not necessarily awesome feom a bullet magnet point of view, but as a model, so much visual appeal. And maybe subliminal priming from so much footage on the news, movies etc, it's kinda like a car you had a picture of as a kid, your brain is rewarded with familiarity.
Really enjoyed this video and found a few things to take away. I appreciate it's a modern topic and there wasn't any commentary on it, just a cool model and how it was made.
Another way to get the cool colour shift on optics/glass: nail foils. They're small rolls of thin iridescent plastic film, easily found on Amazon or any of the other outfits that offshored our entire middle class to China. You usually get a selection of colours and opacities in a set so there's no need to buy multiple products, and a tiny pack will provide enough for several mechanized divisions. Simply cut to size with a hobby blade and glue on with clear varnish or simple white PVA glue for a very convincing effect on small flat surfaces like tank optics, targeting pods, EO lenses, etc.
Thank you for the advice! I was considering using a similar foil I saw at Michael's craft supply. But I was concerned that they would be too thick to be glued onto the scopes and then slide up though the slots in the hatches. So I would just glue that foil onto the mounted periscopes during assembly, mask it, and then paint and weather. A different process... and something for the next build!
What a spectacular build all around, this was fun for you and us! You got to deploy many new techniques here. I like modern subjects, because you have just so many good reference photos. That leaves less to our imagination, instead you just get to copy what you see, so much easier :)
Ah yes, that one has been on hold for a while while I fix some issues with the side skirts on the kit due to new information. I need to paint the skirts now and I need motivation to pick it up again.
hi is there a couple of tracks left unassembled? I'm interested in the assembly process - the tracks from GE models on the BMP3 with this design did not turn out the best have the fingers already been cut here?
Just got a Bradley kit and lo and behold this vid lol...nice kit love the details, plenty of plastic for your money.....as to modern armour etc ,loads cry out ...they aint so scratched etc,...I would disagree....look at abrahms in desert, challenger 2 in excercise vids and even German Army exercise vids...they are chipped yo hell in most vids....anyways.....I guess its paint as you prefer, unless you do from a ref pic...check out the state on leopards etc in chieftanmk12s videos of exercises .....good vid m8 as usual
G'day mate thanks for the video my brother inlaw painted the bushmasters that went to Ukraine 🇺🇦 maybe an a Australian government thing but they had to be spot on if not rub it back and start agian
Thank you for the input. I saw a number of different patterns on these vehicles -- at least three unique digital patterns with distinct colours. And of course some are still overall tan or overall green without digital camo. It may depend on when they were being painted and delivered as they didn't all show up on the same day after all! And certain units may repaint them too.
@@Panzermeister36 yep true it was the first batch that went over talking to him last week he has mud gaurd to do for Australian army he can have that 😆 🤣 mate thanks agian for the video I've got a leopard 2a6 henglong and a t72 I'd love to Ukraine them up but where to start 😆 also have tiger 1 and 2 stug 3 panzer 3long an short barrel 2 Sherman's 1 walker bulldog was looking a a Cromwell or churchhill next have you had anything to do with these are they a good model
I have no idea to be honest. I bought it at a local store. Now, it is meant more for Sci-fi and Gundam modelers so stores that cater to that market are more likely to have it.
Looks like Color shift / Chameleon paints but in pigment form. You can get them in paint versions, they're very common around Sci-Fi and Car Modellers. A quick Google and your favorite lacquer airbrush paint manufacturer will probably have it. For pigment versions, they're usually called Mica powder, used for make-up and resin.
Good call glossing before decals. I use MIG's paints mostly these days and microsol reacts almost always I find. I'm having fairly good experience with them coming from tamiya but they're definitely not as user friendly as Tamiya with mr colour levelling thinner, but I don't have to worry about ventilation half as much now.
Are you referring to the usual Mig AMMO paints, or specifically the ATOM paints? In my experience these ATOM paints are much more durable than the older Mig AMMO acrylics.
@@Panzermeister36 yes it was atom 20099 russian uniform green (used it for a Girls und panzer replica P40, thanks for your build review of that helped massively with the turret and fuel tank brackets). I did however, not use their thinner, just some Vallejo thinner. They have an atom specific thinner and retarder I'm going to try on my next build.
@@Panzermeister36 hey follow up message, I've started painting a dragon 1/35 maus using the DG1 ATOM-20010 but using their retarder + thinner ATOM-20521 and it's given very promising results. On a test patch on the hull side it held up against Microsol just fine and sprayed and levelled brilliantly. I wouldn't say on part with tamiya + MLT but not a million miles away.
I’m struggling with my airbrush right now. My paint is splattering whenever I thin it and then when I try to not thin it as much, it won’t even go through my airbrush so I tried to use some flow improver, and I still am having clogs but when I thin it enough for it to go through it starts splattering so I kinda don’t know what to do anymore lol
What brand of paint are you using? This sounds like you may simply have to deep clean the airbrush as stuff built-up in the nozzle can contribute to a bad spray pattern. There's a tiny amount of space between the needle and nozzle so you really have to make sure that is clean. Otherwise, maybe you need to spray at a different pressure. I am not an airbrush guru but those are some things that came to mind. Hope that helps!
@@Panzermeister36 I just bought a new one. It’s the. Gaahleri advanced I was really hoping that it would be my best airbrush, but it’s just been caused me so many problems

They are 3D printed tracks with no clean up required; all the parts are already separate in little bags.

How much work did you do on the underside of the vehicle? Do you ever weather and chip underneath?
In this case it is just left in the black primer as it is going to be on a base with lots of grass.
