Bought this Magic Factory ODS kit at a model show today after learning about it here. I don't have many armor kits but I'm looking forward to tackling this kit and referencing your build.😊
I was a dismount and gunner on a M2A2 and M2A2ODS. Absolutely loved being on them. A coiple little tidbits. The decj screen next to the driver and under the main guns aalways had spent 7.62 rounds. And it always has a oily grease stain from the front back..crewman and mechanics always put things on there. It was a nice flat area. All the little bolts across the upper hull had paint chips and the steel of the bolts were really visible. One thing no Bradley kit gets right is the side armor along the lower hull? It's 2 plates bolted together with about a hands width gap between the plates. If you. Put any of the side skirts up, you take it off then turn it upside down and bolt back into place. The biggest area for chipping it the rear main door. The smaller door almost never gets open. The ramp can get pretty abused by soldiers and equipment. Definitely the interior edge hope that helps.
Fantastic information Will. Thank you. That’s the good thing about the modern armour is people like yourself with real life, intimate knowledge of the machines being able to highlight those little details. Invaluable ☝️ Appreciate your support of the channel 🙏🍺
Hey John. That PE is fantastic isn’t it?! Not sure what the complications around making them all like that are…but wouldn’t that be amazing if every etch set came like that! Thanks again for you support of the channel 🙏
Excellent in-depth build of this great kit! The inclusion of Sam for all the background on the elements of the vehicle, especially in Ukrainian service, was a great way to present the video.
Thanks Les. Glad you enjoyed it. I’m heading back to the Tiger for the next video…and then tidying up a few ‘obligations’ 🙈…Then back to this one. My build schedule is always so chaotic…keeps me interested that way 😝 Appreciate you connecting here on the channel 🙏
Great build and great presentation Clayton. Little tip for you, if you are cutting small tube with a blade, hold the blade firmly against the tube and roll the tube back and forth. The blade will slowly cut through the tube without flattening or deforming the ends of the tube.
Hey Lysander. Great tip, and I did try to do that but it wasn’t overly successful. I’m so impatient I reverted back to just chopping it! 😆 Thanks for joining in on this platform. It helps a lot 🙏🍺
It’s an interesting product isn’t it! Although I’m reserving judgment until the model is finished. Looking positive though. Thanks for taking the time to connect 👍🍺🙏
A brilliant review and build video on the Bradley Clayton! I would love to attack a modern AFV in the future (I am still stuck in WW2), but I fear the complexity of a model like this, with such a large and detailed parts count is beyond my skills, and my ageing shaky hands and failing eyesight. I am looking forward to the Bradley’s next outing when the this great looking vehicle gets the paint job and the final weathering it deserves. Cheers for now mate!
Hey Gary. Completely understand the Ww2 obsession, but I’m forcing myself to tackle different subjects and genres. It’s good for the mojo. Agreed this kit is probably going to test a few people. Thanks again for joining in 🥳
I'm very sorry for the question, but I don't understand English well by ear.Do you recommend this model for purchase? I really like it, and it will be the final vehicle from the 47th brigade (there are already M1A1SA and Leopard 2A6)
Good video and build. Personally don’t like the Bradley armor fighting vehicle but the build was good. Hope that your friend (and guest) didn’t watch the movie “the pentagon wars” which is a comedy film that puts the development of the Bradley in front and center. Although it does exaggerate the flaws of the vehicle, after operations such as desert storm and Iraqi freedom, any doubts of the Bradley serving in combat we’re put to rest
You said superglue was used to fit the rubber wheels to the hubs because plastic cement would melt the hub but wouldn’t plastic cement also just not bond rubber because it’s not plastic?
Hey there. Sorry that was unclear. When I say rubber parts I was talking about the pieces of plastic that represented the rubber parts on the actual vehicle. The way modelling cement works is it ‘melts’ the plastic at the connection points and essentially fuses them together. Because I’d pre-painted the parts I didn’t want to use it because it can make a mess of the paint due to that ‘melting’ process. Superglue doesn’t melt the plastic and uses a different mechanism to bond the parts…hence it won’t damage the paint. Hope that makes sense. Appreciate the question 🙏🍺

Hey Peter! Thats great news. You’ll love it. It’s a great kit. Thanks for letting me know I’ve cost you some money 🤣🤣

As a former 19D I concur with all these observations.
Not a bad looking kit Clayton, the pe without connecting points is something all model companies should take on board, great idea.

@@workbenchhobbies4316 100 % Clayton.
Great video and build, really liked the information that Sam has passed along. This is one of my favorite vehicles and will be building mine soon.
That info was really handy wasn’t it? Really grateful he was so generous with his time. Good luck with your build 🙏🍺
Well done! Great to see modern armour and modern kit! Nice to see the fiddly bits and tricky points too.
Thanks Jamie. Glad you enjoyed it. Always great to see your name pop up in the comments 👍🍺

Thank you Evan. Great job on your video too. It’s been awesome having to opportunity to connect with you over the past few weeks 🙏
I had pretty much the same feelings about my kit that you and Sam had. Thank you for posting.
Hey Tom. Lovely little kit isn’t it? Thank you too for your generous support on Patreon. Truly grateful 🙏
A very good review & build sequence Clayton well done!
Thanks mate. Always grateful for the opportunity to look at these kits 🙏
Hi Clayton, that is a great start to a very interesting subject, looking forward to the next update, best regards from a Kiwi living in Melbourne, Les

Amazing kit Clayton,I am not really a fan of modern armour,so this is not a must for me,but you executed it amazingly. Can’t wait for more!
Thank you. I wouldn’t say I’m generally a fan of modern stuff…but I go like the Bradley for sure.
Thanks for taking the time to join in 🙏🍺👍✌🏼
Looks like a solid kit Clayton! Keen to see how you develop your approach to anti laser coating for the optics.

Just get the Tamiya or academy M2A2. Won't have the extra armor but you get a solid kit out of it
@@willthorson4543 - Thanks Will. I might give it a go. I haven’t built a Tamiya kit for a while, and the Bradley looks to be a great subject. Cheers!

Great advice ✌🏼
Those Tamiya Bradley’s are pretty good kits from memory
there's a bushmaster cannon in metal now from magic factory
Yeah. I did see that. The plastic one is ok but that upgrade looks amazing doesn’t it? Thanks for taking the time to share 👍

@@workbenchhobbies4316 oooooh okay. It looked like it had some give like rubber but I should have assumed that’s what you meant
Some Ukrainian Bradleys have BFT.
OK cool - thanks for the info 👍🏼
Putting up the swim kit on this thing was one of the stupidest things I ever did in the Army.
😆😆 I can imagine! Thanks for joining in Cliff 👍🙏
Sorry to say, all the interrupts add little value and distract from the build.
Thanks for taking the time to comment. I appreciate the feedback
