This new plugin for Decky Loader is really fun and easy. Get CheatDeck if you want to Cheat in your games. WeMod is good but it's hard to install on Steam Deck. If you can't get WeMod installed, this is a great substitute!

flingtrainers are all tested and verified, you'll have to download it one by one for each game though. I've been using it for years.

To be honest I'm glad that we have Fling and Cheat Engine more and more games replace fun and quality with grind and boring things - sometimes it feels like I'm not gaming, but got the second or third job....

I tried Aurora cheat engine, and now this- decoy is hands-down, the way to go. The others barely worked and were overly complicated. Thank you for this video.
This is easy to use. But you have to download stand alone trainers manually and it's a hit or miss with those.

For about 2 weeks I couldn’t figure out why I couldn’t switch windows. It only showed the trainer screen and not the game but all I had to do was turn on developer mode. Thanks you so much

Thanks for this video, this is currently what I am looking for. Also, tried this and not sure if the trainer from fling is not working, but if I do not see the trainer when I hit the steam button even thou I enabled the Dev Mode, that means the trainer is not working right?
yes, it's probably the trainer issue itself. download another one. some trainers online are sketchy.

Would you like to ask a question? How do I use the cheat deck in games installed by Lutris? It didn't work for me in games that run through Lutris, it opens the trainer but doesn't open the game's exe. you have to do something else?
i'm not sure cheatdeck works with lutris or heroic. it would be easier to make your lutris games work with add non-steam game.

Just thought of this, but for people who want to use cheat engine via cheat deck, given the fact that you will likely have game mode on, certain options will require you to alter your control setup.
If you need to change the script for an option on cheat engine, make sure you turn on mouse controls for at least one button, you need to set a button to act as right click, I chose to use a back bumper.

Great video! A lot of the trainers I am finding require a numpad to input the cheats. Anyway to do this? example the tales of berseria trainer
I'm wondering this same thing. You can bring up the keyboard by pressing Steam button + X button but pressing the numbers doesn't do anything.
That's the downside of this, some trainers don't have slide bar and steam virtual keyboard doesn't have numpad. Just gotta find the right trainer. Or use wemod or aurora. I have videos on other trainers.
@@GrownUpGamingGUG Someone else in the comments suggested binding "Numlock" plus whichever numbers correspond with your cheats to buttons by editing your controller layout and it actually works so far.

The only issue i am experiencing is that the toggle dont work when i use the Steam mouse. When i hold down the Steam button and use the right steam pad to navigate, then click the toggle, nothing happens. If i use an external keyboard and activate the cheats it does work, co i know the trainer is working
It depends on the stand alone trainer. Does the one you're using have slide bars?

have you managed to get the fling trainer to work with Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree to work? i tried but the trainer crashes, however, the game does not. im running it as a non-steam game through lutris.

How would this work with games that use EAC (Elden Ring, Armored Core 6)? I'd probably need to still replace the "start protected game" executable included in the FLING trainers right?
I don't think so, I use wemod with those games without a problem.
Oh, but mine are non-steam versions so it might be different.
Got it working untill the game launched. When i switched to the trainer, the mouse cursor won't move. I tried touching the toggles but its not responding. It's like the trainer is displayed in front but the cursor & trackpad still responding to the game in the back
Try holding the steam button and use the right touchpad as mouse and R2 as left mouse click.

it shouldn't matter. this little plugin once set for your game, actually puts launch options code. so in case you have other launch options you might need to adjust that.
you got a sub, this is fantastic. can you please do this for a game installed using lutris? Appreciate if you can make a video about that. When I follow this procedure for a game installed through lutris its not opening at all

I have done it with monster hunter world and rise and it worked but it didnt work in minecraft dungeons. It didnt give me an option to switch windows
Some stand alone trainers just don't work. It's a hit or miss.
Was able to use CheatDeck ever since I got my Steam Deck OLED and installed decky.

I've experienced in the past that some trainers contain malware or viruses. Just be careful what you're downloading. But this brings up a question, would this affect Linux system?
Good point! I try not to put anything important on my steam deck. Like passwords or e-banking stuff. Just keep it as a gaming device. As I do a lot of controversial things with my steam deck.

Do i need to run with a specific compatibility option for using cheatdeck? It opens the trainer but i can’t generate a window to open the game between the two. Unless i exit the trainer in the start.
I use proton-experimental.
I installed Decky, installed the cheat thing and linked it to the Fling trainer for Hollow Knight.
Perhaps you're missing something, do I need to do something so the trainer runs? It is linked the same way as yours
but even with developer mode enabled I don't see an option to Switch windows, now what? The game just runs as normal, I don't know if the trainer is running in the background or not since there is no option to switch windows.
As said in the video, not all trainers you download online works, it could be the trainer itself, it could be the trainer does not support the version of your game, it could be the trainer is fake. Try other trainers if it doesn't work. They are free to download.
@@GrownUpGamingGUG Thanks, strangely enough an older verison of the Hollow Knight trainer worked and the cheats work just fine, the one from 2021 works great.

Some trainers don't have slide bar toggles and only support numpad keys to toggle. They don't work well with steam deck.

Ran into a sad problem. I wanted this for elden ring. I use elden ring with the convergence mod, and you have to change the launch options to even start the game. Using the cheatdeck changes the launch options apparently, so it just doesn't start :(
What's the launch options for the convergence mod?
How to use numpad to enable cheats? I press steam + x to bring up the virtual keyboard but for numpad 1 if i press 1 it doesnt work.
Some stand alone trainers only have numpad which I avoid. Try to get trainers with slide bar toggle.

I tried different games. On my original steam games it works. Any ideas why this only works with steam games and not with lutris games?

They do different things. Cheatdeck forks the stand-alone trainers. Protonup-qt helps you download different proton versions. Both are free. No need to compare. Use them both.

Cheatdeck is changing my launch options so i can not run both trainer and game any help would be greatly appreciated
Yes that happened to me for dragon's dogma. It runs without the trainer. But when I use the trainer with cheatdeck, it doesn't boot. I think the issue is with the trainer because other games work with trainer with cheatdeck.
wemod didnt work for me on steam deck beacause of the antivirus message bug. but this seems to be a great solution thanks!

Are you using cheatdeck with other mods? Cheatdeck will insert its own launch options and maybe that messed things up?

it does. you do need to search for the trainers yourself.

I was able to boot both the game and trainer using this method, BUT I cant seem to activate the cheats on the trainer. no matter if ill press using the touch screen or the touch pad, i cant click anything. can anybody please help and explain?
As said in the video, some trainers don't have slide bar toggle which is a pain. They only have numpad toggle and steam deck virtual keyboard doesn't have numpad. You might want to download another trainer.
im trying it for nioh; complete edition but it keeps crashing,most likely because its epic games version
i'll try out games on heroic games launcher and lutris later. thanks for letting me know.
tried 3 games.
1) Cyberpunk. The trainer resizing and flashing. Didnt work to choose any cheats.
2) RE4 remake. Trainer didnt show up at all. Tried 30+ trainer instead. Error message saying need of file in game dir. Put said file there, trainer flashing and resizing, after choosing info ammo, game crashes.
3) Elden ring. Doesnt show up.
I'll pass for the time being.
for elden ring, someone said on my discord to use "Elden.Ring.v1.02-v1.08.Plus.34.Trainer-FLiNG" this version. for other games i haven't tried so can't really give you advice. stand alone trainers are a hit or miss. that's why i use wemod but it's a pain to get working on the steam deck. once you have wemod installed, you won't use these stand alone trainers.
What button did you press that brings up cheat deck so that you could locate the cheat downloaded file? My deck comes in a couple days and I’m trying to plan out what I’m going to install on it. This one seems much much easier than the other cheat mods. ALSO, what button allows you to change windows in game??
Once you've installed cheat deck, select your game and press the start button for the option to click cheatdeck.

I wouldn't know the password. You should check with the website from where you downloaded it.

How many games are we talking about that doesn't load up? The games load up properly without cheatdeck or steam tinker launch?
@GrownUpGamingGUG every single game I have tried yes they load fine regularly but once I try both those cheat methods I can see the trainer load up but non of the games load just stays on black screen behind the trainer options. I tried around 5 games since all are quacked I thought that might be the issue.
Also all those games are added to steam using heroic launcher.
@@unexpected78 I'm not sure it works with heroic games launcher. In the video I used add non-steam games method.
@GrownUpGamingGUG I only used Heroic launcher to install the quacked games then added them to steam and through steam the games run fine. So should I try installing the games without the heroic launcher?
If you want to use this trainer then you need to as I haven't found a way to get it working to heroic games launcher.

Depends on the stand alone trainers. Some have slide bar toggle which is good. Some just use NUM pad keys which sucks and they can't remap which sucks even more🤣
I'm not able to enable the mods once I launch in Game Mode. I can switch to the trainer Window but nothing happens. I assigned the track pad as a mouse and it doesn't enable any of the toggles. I plugged in a mouse and same thing. Any ideas? I tried Monster Hunter World and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice.
did you enable developer mode? also, hold the steam button and use right touchpad as mouse and r2 as left click.
@GrownUpGamingGUG I did enable Developer Mode. I tried using the default mouse combo with the Steam button you mentioned, but that didn't work. The mouse moves but it doesn't click any of the toggles when I tried Steam + R2. Do I need to map R2 as a left-click?
@@Zeddicushx should be default, no need to map. It works fine for me.
@Zeddicushx I couldn't get it to work either. Trainer screen pops up but can't select any cheats or interact with anything.
@CheesusSweet I got it to work by mapping NumLock as one of the buttons. Then mapping the button for the cheat I want to enable

Which step did this happen? As I recall, there's no step in the video to execute an exe file manually.
MGS V on lutris it doesn't work when activate the standalone trainer..

I have fling trainers and redirected to the folder. But Everytime i open it says something about being offline and not being able to instal wemod. But im not trying to install wemod so idk what in doing haha.
Some fling trainers need wemod to run. Wemod owns fling. They were bought out.

@@goated3285 wemod exe you got should be an installer. Doesn't just work like that. I have installation guides on the channel you might want to check out.

I'm extremely mixed on this, from the point of view where
+ adaptable cheats being used for older games but acting more as quick settings instead of cheats
- proactively being pro-cheats may encourage naughty behavior
- why for new games, like...
+ ease of use, and perhaps potential update to add an on the fly mod enable/disable option
I can see several upsides but also downsides. It's cool. In concept, with work it could become much much more of a useful tool.

Set the game in windowed mode. Or try another trainer.

I have videos on aurora you can check out but I didn't join their membership so it's limited. For me I control by holding steam button and moving right touchpas and R2 as left click.

For some reason, i cant get the trainer to open? I have dev mode active, same with the file set, and same with the trainer being standalone. It just doesn’t open on any game

Nice video thanks but I have an issue when switching between the Fling trainer and the game (nonsteam).
Doing so, my Steam Deck freezes, and I have to manaul reset. Both the game and trainer are on the microsd. Any ideas?
Have you tried another trainer or another game? You need to find out what's causing the issue. The game, the trainer, or something else.
@GrownUpGamingGUG I figured an alternative method with no need for CheatDeck.
By making a launch.bat file (by renaming a notepad.txt) in the same directory as the game.exe. Adding two command lines to start the game.exe and the trainer.exe (must be in the same directory).
Set the target on Steam to the launch.bat file and it works perfectly.
This also works with Lutris. With Lutris though, the mouse doesn't react well in the trainer window (in gaming mode) so you need to bind a hotkey to num lock then bind a hotkey num pad# to activate/deactivate with Fling trainer cheats (num lock hotkey has to be pressed everytime before hotkey num pad # to activate cheats)
The game.exe and trainer file name must not have any spaces.

Hey, i need some help. If i start the game with all the things turned on, some message pops up saying: we mod cannot access the internet.
Do you know what to do?
The trainer is probably a wemod installer so it needs to connect to the internet. Try other trainers.

From experience not all stand-alone trainers work from the internet. What game are you trying?
If the file is called the name of game and trainer setup.exe and is around 141kb that is a install file and not a trainer.
the trainer does pop up during game launch but i cant seem to toggle the cheats with the steam deck buttons
As said in the video, not all trainers have the slide bars. If it only has the NUM pad then you probably need another trainer.

Doesn’t work for me when I try to toggle any cheat I got an error saying “access denied. Try to run the trainer with administrator privileges or disable the antivirus” no idea how to do that because first I don’t have an antivirus and second the cheatdeck plugin open the trainer by itself and doesn’t have an option to run it in administrator
Did you try another trainer or is this based on one trainer?
@@GrownUpGamingGUG I tried a couple of them with different games and had the same issue so I’m guessing is something else not the trainer itself
What proton version are you using on the games?
@@GrownUpGamingGUG haven’t force the game to use any proton but I switched to proton experimental and the same issue. Also with the latest proton. Must say that these are steam games not non steam
I'm not sure why it's like that for you. I thought it was because of the proton version.
