I like how you gave it a different view point. So many guys get bogged down with the technical aspects, like oh it’s not transparent…etc but I’m glad you found use in and said it’s not transparent but it gives me a vibe in a way that I want.
many say this SSL EV2 is not that great, that is has a crazy wide bell curve, (As seen in plugin doctor), many say the PA_BX. 900J. smokes this SSL one...your thoughts?
Thanks for watching. I like them both. I tend to make my own mind up about plugins rather than listening to what other people say and obviously personal taste is personal taste. For me, the EV2 is great on vocals and the bx is great on drums and percussion. The advantage we have nowadays is multiple choices. In the 80s I had one choice, the SSL in our studio. Lastly, I don’t really rely on plugins like plugin doctor to make my choices. Plugin Doctor is great for showing an accurate graphical representation of a plugins curves etc, but it doesn’t relay a plugin’s idiosyncrasies or personal mojo IMO. It shows you what a plugin does on paper, but not what it does on the race track. Thanks again for watching.
9000j creamy spacious perfection and the TMT noiccceeee Amek 9099 drivey gritty dry snapp good way to test this is with a simple mono 808 patterns snappy drum snare and cymble show u what is goin on in freq and stereo field massage 2nd grooves into the beat with comp and gate/exp man these strips changed all 4 me one takes care where the other cant so i say go 4 both
I have downloaded the demo for bx true peak limiter and watching the yellow indicator on the dB meter next to the channel fader in Studio One, that yellow indicator for compression goes way down while the GR on the plugin reads around 2 dB GR and it goes back to normal very slow. I think that they added some sort of heavy compressor inside as well that gets mixed partially. I was curious about the plugin since it had no threshold control but I really liked the way it responds to higher gains😊. I will try to get it in any future discounts from PA.
Hey buddy thanks for watching. I find that yellow compression indicator a bit hit and miss in S1 myself. Sometimes it seems spot on and other times it’s all over place. I try and ignore it lol. PA have some insane sales so you should be able to pick it up for a good price.
@@TheCratesMotel I will wait for it to go on a sale. Right now I might spend my monthly code one knif soma and lindell sbc, to get the mbc with it. Maybe you can do a video about that MBC. I wonder what you think about it and how it would be used in a mastering context.
Thanks, great list! Is that track coming in at 7.18 released by now? would love to have/play that. Had a classics festival last weekend and this deffo catches the 90's vibe (judging the loop only now obv)
Love the amek on horns and all brass instruments

Thanks man. For me, if it sounds good, it is good. I am not so worried about the science of it all. Thank you for watching.
The Amek 9099 is a game changer. Amazing.
