    I loved Acustica Frost, got it for free when I bought Erin & Green. I dug it so much that I remapped my console 1 to control it, ditching the Softube plugs.
    You created some good content this year, thanks for that keep up the good work 🙏🏾☺️

      @@TheCratesMotel the EQ sounds expensive and more subtle like a mastering EQ instead of a usual SSL EQ and the saturation is fantastic. The compressor is good but not as good as Sand and the pre is meh but still ok. I use it then freeze/bounce with max oversampling.

      @@TheCratesMotel Thank you for always answering comments. Can u please tell more about ur referance tracks. I heard u use "around the world", since than i've been listening it almost every day to get my ears familiar how it sounds. I can tell if mix/master is bad but its hard for me to judge between good and really good mix/masters. It would be awesome if u can share some more examples for referance tracks. Sorry for bothering u again and again, thank you so much

    • @TheCratesMotel
      @TheCratesMotel  Год назад +1

      @@ati8153 Hey, honestly with references you really need to build up your own folder because it is entirely subjective as to what makes a good mix or master. I have tracks I reference for different genres, I have tracks I reference for drums, guitar, strings, etc. Whenever I hear a track that I think "Wow that sounds great" or "I love the way the bass sounds on that" then it goes in my reference folder. I could give you a list of tracks I use but they would not be in context and would therefore not really be good use to you. I always use "Around the World" as a general example because most people know it, but some people may not like it as a reference source. I use it because I have played it out as a DJ for over 20 years and know how good it sounds on almost every sound system I have ever played it on. Grace Jones "Slave to the Rhythm" is my ultimate reference record. Everything sounds good on that, on every system. BUt again, that is my personal taste and opinion.

    great videos and nice set of threads, I'm watching everything from video to video on your channel, I like and it helpful for my production. I haven't place for any of selected plugins in my current projects, but it not mean that it will not happen) I dunno if you already told few words about your experience using Audeze LCD-X, but I would be very thankful if you reply me with very short impressions. I'm considering them too. I'm currently using Sennheiser HD 600 and they are great, but they do not provide enough picture of low register for me. Thank you!

    • @TheCratesMotel
      @TheCratesMotel  Год назад +1

      Thank you for watching and for your kind words. The low end on the LCD-X is excellent in my opinion. It is the main reason I prefer them over my MX4s. Really tight and clean. I have never used the HD600 but I have seen many excellent reviews about them, so I can't say the LCD-X are better in the low end. I demoed a ton of headphones before settling on the LCD-X though including the HD800, Focal, Hedd and some Beyerdynamics. If possible, teh best thing to do would be to demo them I guess.

      @@TheCratesMotel Many many thanks to your answer! 🙏🙏🙏 Actually, I wanted to ask what do you think about Audeze lcd x as the mixing mastering headphones, only your personal opinion. Because they are advertising partially as a studio headphones and few grand engineers already using them. Are they providing you a better clarity and picture compared to Beyerdynamic 880 (for example, or any of headphones you tested in range of up to 500$)? Because I couldn't treat my room right now and spend $$$ for it. Thank you!

    • @TheCratesMotel

      @@maxborosiuk3570 I master exclusively on LCD-X headphones and have done for two years now. Over 500 masters for clients in that time. I definitely give my 100% seal of approval. I also own the 770s/880s/990s by Beyerdynamic so I can compare them directly. They have better response all the way through the spectrum in my opinion and the stereofield is better. But obviously I am very used to them now, and it is only my personal opinion. I always tell my students that buying a pair of headphones because they suit somebody else is like buying a pair of shoes because they fit somebody else. You really need to try them yourself dude. They may be perfect for me, but not for you.

    I just can't believe that The Oven doesn't have internal Mid-side processing. When you expand the window it should have a duplicate bottom section for the side channel. Also, why is there no autogain? Why are the low, mid, and hi burn toggles not under their associated knobs? Just bananas how much they missed the mark.

    • @TheCratesMotel
      @TheCratesMotel  Год назад

      I guess it is always a toss up between keeping it exactly the same as the hardware or adding extras. They made this plugin under licence with Maor, so they may have all decided they did not want to add those elements or there may have been coding reasons. Who knows? It may be coming in an update or a different version. They are very vocal on social media, so maybe you could ask Dirk at PA directly. He usually answers. Thanks again for watching.

    Great video and love your reviews..... BUT As a real Mastering Engineer you should not be encouraging people to NOT read the manual... If people just buy a plug in and throw it on they'll probably never read the manual....Bad Advice.... I would say to anyone seeing this READ YOUR MANUAL on all your plug ins... That is a WASTE of money if you are a serious musician....TO ME.... SALUTE

      Thanks for watching buddy. Yeh I hear you. It’s sort of loose advice. I think viewers can decide if they want to read the manual. I’m actually an avid manual reader. I even read the manual to a new kettle I bought. My iPad is pretty much a pdf holder of manuals. But I do think sometimes it’s good to just get stuck in and use the manual as a back referencing guide if you get lost.
