    Try pairing it with the Kiive Audio NFuse Saturation section activated only as a preamp, and you'll get a very smooth vocal chain. Also, Kiive is releasing a faithful tube-tech emulation, which should help.

    I also use this excellent plugin very often and each time appreciate its finesse and softness. He does a good job indeed. Thank you for highlighting it and introducing it to those who do not know it. This AMEK 9099 is a great buy to consider, that's for sure !

    I tried it and liked it! Thanks for the tip. Starting today (Dec 23 2022) it's on sale for $29.99 until Christmas.
    I started out on recording myself on the Acoustic guitar in the 80s, and mastering consisted of plugging in my dad's home Equalizer into the Tascam portastudio - I'm as gob-smacked as you are at the accessibility to pro-level audio for all of us.
    Now I'm venturing into the VO realm, reading stuff on Librivox to get my chops up! Again, my thanks for your channel - it's inspiring!

      $30 for the 9099 is a steal! Glad you dig it. And I'm very glad to hear you dig the channel. Enjoy the Amek! It's really great.

    Another great one from you. Downloading the trial now. Tried the Infinistrip via their demo. The expander is awesome, but ready for this one. Thanks a lot, Mark.

      The expander on the Infinistrip is one of the best and easiest to work with that I've ever dealt with. It's such a great plug. But just wait until you get into the 9099.

    Not sure how to use non UAD plugins with UAD’s Console. Right now I’m just running the Townsend Sphere plug-in for my L22 mic and the AMS Neve DFC channel Strip. ITS A cool plug-in but I have to figure out how to make it fit into my work flow. Thx for the video.

    • @MarkYoshimotoNemcoff
      @MarkYoshimotoNemcoff  2 года назад +2

      The problem with Console is you can't use non UA plugs in it. I'm running this through Logic with buffer set at 32 to get zero latency. My signal is passing through the UA interface so I can use Console to adust the gain going in same way you would with an interface, but after that it's Logic as the host for the plug in. I get it though. I've spent years only using UA so it's taking me a little time and some extra brainstorming to make this work but I'm discovering there's really an amazing parallel universe of plug ins out there that you can cut through with zero latency. Glad to see you using the DFC. Man, that thing is gold.

      @@MarkYoshimotoNemcoff yeah UAD has actually done a great job building it’s own little ecosystem. Much like avid with programs like pro logic and media composer. They sort of locked in the entire high end use of their software. It’s not like other softwares don’t exist, but since Avid was there from day one it’s an industry standard. I love UAD’s seamless integration and simplicity of how everything works between hardware and software. All very clever. I’m relatively new to VO. Still dialing in my sound and consistent post production. Trying to use the KISS method with only two plugins. I’m only using the the limiter and the expander on my plug-in now. Will dial some eq in at some point when I feel brave. Haha. Thx!!

      @@curtishustace That's the way to do it. Onboard new bits to your rig slowly after you get the feel of what you have. Try the UA Voxbox at some point. It'll add a whole new layer to your sound.

      Thank you, Leandro. It’s hard to make anything sound bad through the 9099. I know it looks like NASA mission control but it’s pretty straightforward. It already has a bit of a mid-scoop so you may not even need a lot of EQ and add a touch of light compression and go from there.

    Again not finished but.....your compressor theshold is on max ie the comp isn't triggering, that'll be why it sounds so transparent even when you smash the ratio and get loud ;)
