    Whatsup LC 👍🏻 i owned a Daytona 675R for almost 3 years but sold it April this year. Imo the Daytona 675R is definitely class leader and some. I can tell you exactly what was factory on this bike everything but the rear sets and levers!! All the carbon the brembos the braided lines the ohlins slipper clutch and yeah like you said it has a quick shifter but no blipper which is a huge shame as I’m a massive blipper fan. Ive absolutely nothing but positive things to say about this 675R FANTASTIC all round package. 👍🏻

    The Daytona is a bike I am absolutely dreaming of for my first bike under my A licence. I know that's well over three years away but I absolutely fell in love with it after sitting on one in a dealership. I know there are probably hundreds of better options for 600s, but this has what I want - a triple engine, Triumph quality and plenty of torque. Definitely would be doing stuff like bar end mirrors, tail tidy, LED headlights, blacked out double bubble screen and perhaps an SC Project or Racefit exhaust on it

      Im hoping they will after the Moto 2 project are all sold and out with customers. I think the middleweight class might be in for a resurgence! • @SolivG
    @SolivG 5 лет назад

    great review Chops. Loved it when you were wringing its neck. Sounds sweet! If they brought back the 750 class with the engine tech they have these days, the bikes would make more power than litre bikes were making 10 years ago. Or oat least close. More than plenty for the road.

    The org "out of the box" D675 has very low mounted rearsets as well. And not only that, you sit higher up more on top of the bike than in the bike compared to other sportbikes. On japanese bikes you usually sit in the bike(except for the "new" R1 which feels like an older Ducati sportbike), IE on traditional sport bikes seat is lower and the footpegs are high up making for a cramped leg experience but not on the d675. And again, not only that but the distance from the seat over the fuel tank to the clippons is pretty short compared to other bikes. Only the old Panigale has that as well.

    • @LambChopRides
      @LambChopRides  5 лет назад

      Yes agree will that comments, interesting regarding standard footpeg hight 👍

    • @Pillokun
      @Pillokun 5 лет назад +1

      @@LambChopRides Mm, d675 is pretty generous with leg room, I could ride my d675 to far off trackdays(trackweekends) for like up to 6h of one way travel time but doing it on my other bikes was very uncomfortable, and yet I have legs on the shorter side. One thing that upset me with the new d675, the seat/sadle was not as narrow on the first gen! made my flatfooting expatiates a bit harder. On the r1 it is impossible for me because of the hard edge under the seat...

    Where the hell did you get to, was that Peterborough or Mordor lol? Anyway, very enjoyable review & great to see your revisiting an "old" classic in the middleweight sports scene. Despite probably sounding like a broken record, this is where it's at in my opinion. As bigger bikes get faster & more expensive, supersport bikes make more & more sense especially for the road. I'm thinking there will be a resurgence in the supersport scene at some point soonish (he says hopefully!)

    How would you rate it comfort wise? I know it's a sportbike, but can it do any kind of touring? For example R6 is known for very aggressive seating position, while CBR 600 RR is known for being more comfy six hundred. I like the daytona a lot, but uncomfortable ergonomics could be deal breaker for me. I know there's the street triple too, but daytona is more powerful ;).

    Wouldn't hold that hope that they starting making Daytonas again. Can't remember whether it was 44 Teeth or Bennett's but somewhere last week I watched Triumph's head engineer being interviewed about the new Moto 2 inspired Daytona and he said "this will be the last Daytona we make".

    • @returnedtotheearth1326
      @returnedtotheearth1326 5 лет назад

      What he actually said was this will be the last of “this” Daytona we make. The problem is Euro 5. They’ve used the same Daytona engine on the new Street Triple but with Euro 5 the BHP hasn’t really increased from old
      Street Triple and the bike is 6kgs heavier. So they need a completely new engine to do another Daytona as you can’t bring out a new bike that’s slower than the old one. Not saying they will but if they do a Daytona in the future it won’t be with the 765

    for the price you used to get this one, you could just slap a 'tiny' bit on top and get a literbike anyway

    I love the dash. I'm still waiting to see a bike that does it better than my CBR 650R that doesn't cost $21,000. The Speed Triple RR is just too ludicrously expensive for what you get.

    • @stuontwo677

      You can start on any bike for your first, the important thing is to just feel it out and don't ride out of your comfort zone, get used to it and don't be billy big balls on your first outing. You should treat motorbike riding as a lifelong learning experience.

    Great review but Lamp Chop saying you should get a middleweight instead of a litre bike is like an alcoholic saying your shouldn't drink, the man has a litre GSXR with a full system AND and H2 Supercharged litre bike 😂 anyway always liked the Daytona but many reviews say how uncomfortable it is so interesting to see how you found it pretty ok, or maybe the R1was so bad it desensitised you haha

    • @LambChopRides
      @LambChopRides  5 лет назад +2

      Haha yes I do get the irony of it 😂 but I'm a typical example of buyers these days thinking they need a litre bike when really these middleweights really make much more rewarding road bikes 👍

    Let's face it, the new 1000's are so powerful, they are too much for manual control
    Wheres before the ECU's were needed to get more power, they are now needed to restrain that power
    And as for that gap,.. they killed the GSX-R 750 so it's only gotten bigger

    Cracking video. Glad I'm not the only person who has a problem trying to get out of Peterborough. Fenland roads are shite. Try riding a 996 on them, let alone a modern sportsbike. So if this size bike is more than enough power for road use; why the H2 😉

    • @LambChopRides
      @LambChopRides  5 лет назад +2

      Yes it's a fair point! H2 isn't just about speed though I love the engineering of it. But probably this would have it for pure riding pleasure and engagement have to say. Being a larger guy I also look ridiculous on normal sized modern sports bikes, h2 fits my larger frame better 😁
