Things I hate. "oh i love the bike, love the smoothness, love that it's narrow..."
Rider Mark welcome to clickbaitingwithtom
OR.. Maybe he just loves his bike and struggles to talk about what he doesn't like about the bike...
This was about a 2013 675?
“Your girlfriend has ridden it “......does your wife know you have a girlfriend 😂😂😂
Dougi mk5 it was probabmy recorder before they got married haha
Dougi mk5 hahahahaa
Every time i see a 675 i picture yamminoob crashing into a Porsche
Stride Tide "and here is yammienoob going for the triple axe handle with full frontal landing approach......A PERFECT 10!"
lol.
And now for the dismount... what was that the Russan judge gave it a 5.
Bad point...it's attractive to thieves.
But, not common, so to strip it and get rid of parts becomes a challenge ;-)
Inane Observations yea
Recently bought the new street triple rs. The engine is such a perfection! I'm praying to the bike Gods that they actually make a new Daytona
Rosstinelli I would bet money that there will be one soonish
Rosstinelli they just joined moto2 so they probably will
Yes Daytona 765 is already in production for a late 2019 release.
It is happening 100%
Its too bad yall dont have any facts of if and when 😕🤷🏽♂️ if there is any actual proof besides assumptions because of the street RS, then I probably wont hold my breath
Give me analog rev counter and digital speedometer. that's all I want 👌
Jay Jay Smith in white background color? 😘👌
The rough sub 5k throttle is all due to the exup valve and noise/emission regulations. I removed mine and put on a full system with a PC5, had a custom map made and it was perfect after that. Apart from the added HP/torque it also runs so much better, smoother/stronger from low revs all the way up to the redline.
Sunedosa mind was it very difficult when you took that out?
i know im bumping a very old post. i'm thinking about doing this to mine. did you use a servo buddy? which exhaust did you install? are you happy with it?
@@j67d26 I don't have the bike anymore, didn't want to hang on to it since it was phased out/discontinued by Triumph. There's no telling what happens with the value after that. It was amazing tbh, best sportsbike ive ever had. I bought a decatted header and an austin racing muffler. The ECU wasn 't cracked yet then so i added a highflow airfilter and a pc5 , hade 121 hp to the tire so 9hp+ over stock. There's a couple of short rev clips on my channel, had the arrow slipon at first. If you can get one for a decent price i'd reccomend it. You can have the ecu tuned now so no use for a servo buddy now, i had one for it.
@@Sunedosa thank you for the information. i like it too much and it still turns heads and people always comment on it so ill keep it as long as i can. just looking to make the upgrades but it doesnt appear to be any cheaper six years later! cant quite pull the trigger on anything rn
@@j67d26 Yea the bike is still awesome, since selling it ive had a z1000sx, a 22 ZX10R and now a 24 ZX6R. The ZX6 is pretty close but i still miss the Daytona tbh.
Likes to impact yellow Porsche.
And boulder.
Szlejer 😂😂🤣🤣😆never stop trolling that guy xD
Nothing beats the whistle from a triple ✌
As an ex owner, I truly had only two complaints.
1. The stock mirrors (affecting all Triumphs). If you often lane filter through peak traffic, you tend to push your mirrors inwards quite often to prevent embarrassing side-mirror contact. Very quickly these will become jigglier than your Great Aunt Berryl's fun bags if you know what I mean, and you'll need to replace them. They are not adjustable & cannot be tightened!
2. As a daily rider, you're going to go through quite a few "always-on" bulbs. This is probably normal for all motorcycles, and the hot Australian temperatures definitely don't help but I found myself replacing light bulbs as often as tyres.
And that's it! One hell of a bike & still more lethal than any liter bike up a mountain :P The feels at 14,000rpm.. Amazing engine.
I also had the same problems. I took my mirrors off after seeing another Daytona installed with a CRG Blindsight mirror attached next to the left hand controls. Works like a dream, because I turn my head anyways, and took off the weight of the stock mirrors.
I also popped quite a few driving light bulbs, which always happened at the most inconvenient times. I replaced it with an LED bulb and have had no problems since.
Zealadinn I used an Opt-7, but had to dremel off many of the cooling fins for the bulb retention spring to fit the bulb. The bulb does not fit under the cap, but the bulb and wiring is waterproof itself.
You may want to check out Cyclops Adventure Sports. I installed one of their H4 bulbs in my R Nine T Scrambler without having to modify anything. This bulb lights up everything, and I just rode across the country with it in January.
I highly recommend fitting the LED bulbs. I actually want to fit the bright side with an LED bulb, even though you only need to turn the brights on when attacking a nice curve to the left at night, I just haven't done so yet.
Also, I have not had condensation build up in the light housing. Good luck.
It's sad to see one using a track purpose bike as a commuter.....
adamutuber Not all who ride can afford to go to the track, so we have to discover new adventures. Believe me, I want to race bikes more than I want life itself, but there are no funds to do it. Not all of us are extremely fortunate, but we can value and respect what we have.
2 things i don't like about mine.
1- it doesn't scare me. it is so confidence inspiring but being a 675 it is so controllable.
2- i would have liked the low beam to use both headlights
If it doesn't scare you, you aint riding it hard enough.
After putting 68,000 miles on my 2013, I have the recommendation to install some Stomp Grip on the tank and use your thighs to grip the tank to relieve pressure on your wrists.
I actually prefer the analog gauge as opposed to the new dashes.
Also, the stock exhaust is heavy and replacing it will still emit a "whistle." This is a signature of the Triumph triple engine, even in their other bikes.
This is my list of things I don't care for:
My subframe infills fell out on the highway by themselves,
The damn rider's seat requires that you hold the seat tabs while you remove two bolts to remove or install the seat,
and the first thing to fail on the bike was the exhaust valve, but I replaced it so that took care of the problem.
Pulling in the clutch to start is a good feature imo
Why so?
I assume it's a back up safety measure in case your bikes fuel pump turns on even if it's in gear with the kickstand down? Wouldn't surprise me with how litigious the world is.
@@RidingWithTom so that you don't jerk forward and hit something if you just happen to start the bike and forget it's in gear
@@rasharddauvergne342 My old 2005 Duc S2R didnt have a clutch in start. Also you didnt need to hold the button in, you just pressed it and it cranked until it started. If a gear was in it wouldnt crank. And that was a 2005... I really hate that w my -14 Striple, its annoying.
On the Street Triple, one thing I don't like is the ignition switch beyond locking the handlebars there's a battery draining parking light mode that I've ended up in one too many times. We really don't need that here in Aus.
And yes, the odometer is a pain. Already asked Triumph about that with no solution.
At about 34k miles on my 675 and still running great. Biggest issue I have is when starting there is some sounds from the front of the bike. Asked around and apparently its a thing with Daytona. I wondered the same thing about the odometer reading haha
One of my dream bikes 💯
Well, You hit all the petty complaints I have about mine, I love the red subframe tho.
There's one thing I hate...You don't have a proper exhaust...
i atually really like the stock exhaust, well mostly the looks. i personally think the arrow exhaust is really ugly
Amateurs always replace the exhaust first
Yeah, it's the first thing you wanna replace to permanently (over time) fuck up your hearing. I reserve that stuff for the morons and the "oh I gotta look cool" crowd. Sure it makes me a 'dork' in many of their eyes, but that's cool I own my dorkiness whilst maintaining (hopefully) my hearing. If anything the stock exhaust on the Daytona looks great, not many stock exhausts look as good.
As for the gauges analog and needles FTW. LCD looks cheap and ugly, like having an oversized i-phone, they do not belong on either a bike or a in a car.
@@europachef I ride my Striple w earplugs and an SC project. Works just fine.
The whine/whistle is not dependent on the number of cylinders you have as it is made by straight cut gears which can be used in any engine configuration.
Just picked one of these up myself with loads of bits and an arrow on it. The seat is very slippy tank pads are a must
Have bought a 2015 675R but cant ride as Im currently seeing out a 6 month driving disqualification. My little treat! Cant wait!!!
The clutch failsafe to start the bike is actually not a bad thing. I once dropped my Monster 1200 because it's lacking something like this. The sensor sensed the bike being in neutral, so it permitted it to start. But actually neutral was not fully engaged, so when I started it standing next to it, it jumped forward and I had to catch 200kg of bike, which I barely managed to do -still broke the shift lever though. Would not have happened if it required the clutch being pulled to start it up.
Ah the Ducati false neutral, well maybe put it on Ducati’s but other bikes don’t need it
Tom can you do a comparison video with your old 636?
I love that whistle noise
Great video! I want one now.
Had my Daytona 2 and a half years, still nothing I don’t like about it. Wish I could ride it more. I’m always cold, hate being cold, don’t like riding in the cold. I’m in UK where I’m generally cold all year round. Had to ride it today back from having its MOT. We are having a cold spell at the moment, it was 2*C when I collected it with snow on the side of the road. First time I’ve been on it and couldn’t wait to get home ❄️
How about the reliability of the 675r and how about for tall riders? I'm 6'4" and curious if this would be good for me.
Hey Tom, great vid! About to come off LAMs restrictions in 2 months, i've narrowed it down to getting either a Daytona 675 or Street Triple 675/765.
Do you find the riding position of the Daytona a little bit too aggressive for longer rides? Or is it not too bad.
I've done 12+ hours a day in the saddle, and found it quite comfortable. It's no cruiser, so don't expect it to feel like one. Use your thighs to grip the tank to alleviate pressure on the wrists and make straighten your back to adjust your position every once in a while. You'll be stopping about every 120 miles for fuel anyways, so take a break by leaking some fluids and grabbing a snack. It really depends how badly you want to get where you are going and if its your only means of transportation. Best of luck Dude!
Thanks for your comment Jeff, really good to hear from an owner's perspective. I think i'll take both the striple and daytona for a test ride back to back, but at this stage i'm leaning towards getting the daytona :). Cheers
What did you wind up getting?@@TheZallene
@@EliasTheHunter I bought a 2015 Daytona 675, owned it for 2.5-3 years. Then bought a 2018 s1000rr, and recently a 2012 1199 Panigale S.
I'm just now missing the Daytona, and came back to this vid! Haha
One negative about the Triumph Triples (my street triple) they do get a bit noisy after a while. Mine started clicking at the 20,000km mark (im at 32,000km now). Mechanic said thats very normal for them.
There's no way to get the odometer to always show up :(
Half life 3 will probably never happen, but Red Dead 2 is coming out in oktober! Pretty stoked about that
Plz do a track day on this... This bike has a glorious noise 😍😍
The stock light bulbs..... wish they we're led. Agree on the dip stick... yep love my Daytona
SC project on this beast? 😜
Starts talking about a technical road as a melbourne motovlogger. Immediately makes me think green gully road. Lo and behold what do I see xD
Why did you stick with sports bike instead of a naked? You rather this over the MT09? Just asking due to owning an MT09, and have seen your video riding the MT.
The triple whistle makes the Rocket 3 sound like a turbo diesel taking off. No lie.
LOL thats hilarious cause your complaints are the EXACT nibbles i have w/ it. Like you say all petty but yet there it is. However I do love the dash. I think it looks classy and nice. I thought the engine was a bit rough down slow but then i rode my buddies CBR600RR same year and felt his was worse going slow. I preferred his brakes to my Brimbos which shocked me. The riding position was a tad better for me on the CBR but those are such minor things. Everything else is so bad ass i love it dearly. Gotta polish it DAILY! I love the whistle. You know a tripple is coming w/ out seeing it. Gotta go polish my baby...
this bike well Triumphs in general have beautiful sound
Wow impressive braking was that front only or both brakes?
what road is that Tom, I was looking but couldnt work out where is was.
I've got a Tiger and I HATE that the odometer won't stay up when riding. The only way to see it after the bike is started is by going through the sub menus... which are only available when the bike is in neutral. So frustrating.
ex street triple here... what bad about this bike was jerky engine at low rpm...vibration on cruising speed...noisy engine...unreliable tensioner(need to replace to manual to fix it)...expensive maintenance...and the worst of all is oil consumption on this bike...my bike eat roughly 50-150ml/1000km...thats how bad it is...sold it last year and wont be planning to buy another one of this sucker ever! It's a pity because the engine of this bike is perfect to me, and the handling too...but spoilt by the problem of the engine itself...
Come to San Diego again! But this time announce it for a group ride hahaha
Eric Dredla agreed
Your right. The Daytona/ Street trople 675 are really quite faultless.
That red is dope!!!
Is it more leant over than an R6?
It’s lent over but I actually found it quite comfortable, plenty of leg room.
Things I don’t like about mine - mirrors are useless for commuting (though is there a sports bike that is any good) and wish it had LED headlights but it’s the wrong age for that (like your comment about the quick shifter). I don’t find it too uncomfortable on freeway commute. So little to complain about. 👍
Hey from jersey, I’ve own my Daytona 675r in black for about a year and a half and here are some of the negative things I’ve experienced.
- oil leaking from my engine I had to tighten 4 bolts by taking the fearings off
- my front brake lever wires disconnected so only the foot brake lets people know when I’m stopping. Lol
Besides that I absolutely love my Daytona
Yeah strangely I found this and when I went to tighten the engine bolts they were all so lose I couldn’t believe it!
You cant keep the odometer on permanently. You can view it in the settings but only while the bike is stationary and in neutral.
I am on board with the 765! Only reason I would ever get rid of my 675. I have asked at IMS and they said no...
Nice one 👍 I have been torn between this bike and a 2017 600 Blade .. what's your thoughts on the later?
Ride em both yourself. It's going to be your bike, not ours. You decide.
I don't like the red frame.....yeah, it really helped me figure out if I wanted one
This guy wanted to dislike this bike.. But sadly, the bike proved itself that it is a top performer
thats right hahahaha
Does my head in not being able to see the ODO when the bikes running. Get like 2 seconds to see it on start up
When are you going to reveal the new bike?
Way to keep composure at 8:23 haha Good thing it has amazing brakes
I can't get the odometer to stay on either
Love the red sub frame, love the whistle
Love my '14 675r
What fender eliminator kit do you have on?
Is that the double bubble windscreen?
I like this dash better than tft to be honest
Dash is good for information, but when riding just needs the Rpm.
FiX I have a 16 striple and I love the dash. Especially when you set the lights to go on above a certain rpm. It's magical. To bad it's going to be lost.
Yeah this makes me want one more now
The whistle is just the balancer shaft
only thing its missing (along with the street triple r) is a blipper.
It’s going ok thanks rwt
I dont know man i love the dash and the seating position but i may be a little smaller then you it just fitted well. Honestly i loved that bike only test rode but god i would have that anyday over anybke
Bike needs an SC Project exhaust badly! Great bike man
Hello, Tommy boy. When will you start streaming on Twitch? Lol
I really like that bike so much one of these days I'll get one
shame they discontinued the daytona r
How about your ‘moment’ at 8:20 lol. I was like faaarrrk. Haha been there before.
the red is my favorite thing about it
what i definitely dont like is the small selection of after market stuff
Because yellow porsches and boulders.
Jhaas42 oh damn hahahaha
How would you compare it with the 636??
Daytona nicer on the road due to more torque low down power, the 636 is a screamer, needs lots of revs to get anywhere. Plus suspension and brakes just 1 level above what you get on a 636.
Will be good to compare the bikes a bit tomorrow :) My brother and I are joining the big bikes crew finally!
I'm getting a 2015 636 and he's getting a 2014 Daytona 675R...
I've wanted a 636 they we were produced again in 2013 and when you and OhPhilly got one :)
Was only 15 in 2013 though ahaha
Is it as good as the ninja 636 ?
Two things missed: it's horrible at going less than 30km in traffic. Wants to constantly stall. Also on warm days your right thigh gets all the heat pouring off the exhaust as it runs up behind the seat
last month of wintertime up here
Having to switch off abs or put it in track mode every time you shut the bike off at a track day.
Did that for a year before I put in a race loom. Nothing really. It's just another thing to do like turning the key to start it.
"February, last month of summer time" sounds so weird hahah
You said it's a tall bike I'm 5"8 would it suit me?
I'm 5“5 and I do ok. You'll be fine.
Miguel Navarrete cheers buddy sat on one the other day seems quite tall but saying that i wasn't wearing my bike boots
I like the red. You could always paint it.
then give it to me xD, what's your height and weight btw
the clutch pulling is there just incase you left the bike in first gear and forgot about it, your bike will roll if its in first when you start it, had that happen to me on my gsxf
That’s why you have a clutch switch, it will not start if it’s not either in neutral or the clutch pulled in
About that engine...had my gear shaft (shift spindle) snap off on my '11 Striple, luckily you can get to it by removing the clutch. When it happened, the first thing I though was: This would've never happened to my Honda. RIP 2005 CBR 600RR
www.satoracing.com/shiftspindleholder_triumph67513.htm
Jeff Misa Hi Jeff! Thanks for the suggestion. I actually was already using the sato spindle holder. Crazy stuff huh? I know there was a recall for certain VIN ranges of the 675 line for that exact defect, but my VIN was not covered.
You can read more about my experience here: www.triumphrat.net/street-triple-forum/885929-shift-spindle-failure-11-striple-r.html#/topics/885929
Damn, that's wild. I also know they changed the gear shifter mechanism that grabs onto the teeth inside the the transmission (for lack of memory of the proper name). I also had it changed. I forgot about that until now.
Well mate did you order a 765r, there supposed to be coming out 2020. You didn't mention the shit mirrors , that's the only thing I hate on mine tbh .
Arundel rd there portable speed cameras on this road very often.
Cbr600rr dash even more old school. They haven’t updated that bike since forever
Future Drag Strip Run?
I want a Daytona 675R so bad
Pickle Rick get in line xD
yes sir....... suck that they are not making them anymore
Did you get 1?
but is it smooth? 😂 What a great bike!
I FOUND A PROBLEM, it's missing the brake res cozy, missing them free horsies.
Arundel Rd?
I lovr the sound of this thing ehen he gets on it. :)
I miss your cb1300
You broke my heart at Half-life 3 and things that will never happen :-(
“It’s annoying to start it” *starts it in .5 seconds*
The red subframe is what I don’t like about the 765 ST R, should be black. The red is just not the right shade of red. But that’s literally it.
you said u don't wanna take it to calder coz its too slow........
Altough I bet its an amazing bike, I would never want to own one JUST because of the design. I cant stand that front with those headlights. It just doesnt look sharp/ mean/ modern enough.
Zi9makin6 as someone who owned a 955i I think this is much better xD
I thought the same thing. It grew on me. I got the black one though.
That's why I grabbed a 2011 when I picked one up, last gen with the projector lights
Things I hate about the 675: The existence of the MV Agusta F3 675
MV Agusta the company that makes going bankrupt routine...
I would never take an F3 over a 675R.
