Your editing skills are getting great! Working on your car makes you appreciate it more. When I first got my license my father gave me a car with a cracked engine block and said “fix it if you want to drive” 😆 so I did and I appreciated it. Recently I just gave my little brother his first car. He just passed his driving test. 71 Oldsmobile, with a completely sacked out brake system and told him “fix it if you want to drive” lol. Of coarse I helped him along but made him do all the work. You and dad rock! Keep it up!
Thank you! 😁
Wow. First one here....again!
You know you're getting serious when the Hot Wrench comes out!
When setting wheel bearing preload, the final setting should be zero lash with very little torque applied if any. When installing the rotor assembly, I'll usually slightly over tighten the nut and spin the rotor to disperse the grease within the bearings, back it off till loose, then adjust the nut to zero lash.
You guys are making great progress!😊👍
Thank you for the heads up. If anything I have them a touch loose right now. Want to add a bit of grease to the hubs. Will pull them down a touch more when I do that.
@@drybonesgarage777one more thought. Didn't see this in the video but you should have a thin coating of grease applied to the spindles as well. This acts as a heat sink which helps pull heat away from the bearings. 😊
Yep... Delayed intelligence. I still need to open them back up and do that. Put it together finished out my day and... I think I missed a step... Was hoping no one would notice😒
Nearing the summit!
Getting there....
s10 lower control arms fit a 92 Camaro you just got to drill the 1 mounting bolt 1 size up since Camaro use two direct bot sizes for the mounts.
I learned to pack bearings the same way. Then I watched a friend on a SCCA team use a hypodermic needle and inject each crevice between cage and rollers. He was a tad O.C.D. though!
🤣😂😁
Looking good
Thank you!
This is an awesome project. Are the G body and the S10 frames similar in other aspects as well?
Outside of the outer suspension components no. The frame is narrower and taller. Rear end is sprung different. I think that the standard cab short bed is on a 108" wheelbase. Might be the long. They are much stiffer than the g body if you are thinking about a similar project. We opted to rigidly mound the g body frame to try to use the shell as a reenforcement so we could retain more interior space allowing for the back seat.
