LOW ACCEPTANCE RATE DoorDash Offers... (What I Get With 2%)

- I have a 2% acceptance rate on DoorDash... That means that I get the lowest paying offers out there, right...? Nope! Not only do I get "high paying orders," but, I'm NOT in the large order program or any other dasher program... DoorDash drivers rely on reasonably paying offers to survive, so how could a dasher possibly get by with an acceptance rate that low...? Watch this video now to find out the pay I see on DoorDash with a low AR.

I feel this video so hard! Your experience is the same for me. DoorDash has the volume of orders over others, but when you pair it with others you can make really good money. I've worked two days for a total of 7 hours and have driven 111 miles this week. I've made a little over $250, for an average of $35hr and $2.27 a mile. I attribute this to cherry picking and multi-apping. My AR is not as low as yours, but seeing your experience puts me at ease that I can keep declining without fear. Thanks for the content!
Hey I appreciate the comment! It sounds like your market is very similar to mine. I've been at this for over 3 years now and at no point have I ever felt AR mattered in my market other than to get Dash now.
Totally depends on your area. In my area I have to keep my AR up or I won’t get anything sent to me. When my AR was low, I couldn’t schedule dashes and if I got sent something it was all crap orders with little pay and no tip.
Those truck pick ups are iffy because they don’t start order until drivers shows up. I suspect they lost too much $$$ in wasted food cause delivery people don’t accept it. It takes waaaay too long .
The funny thing about here is it don't matter how close you are to the good restaurants because you still don't get those orders.
I'm not telling anyone how to run their operation. But as for me and my car we will DECLINE THE TRASH! Awesome Video Zach!! 😎
Good video Zach! I'm at 14% at the moment. Got up to 87% about four months ago. Totally didn't make me more money or get me better offers.
Hey Dan, my logic is if I couldn't maintain a high AR during the lockdowns then its near impossible to make reasonable money and have a high AR now in my market. Great to hear from you!
But if you're in a competitive area (lots of top dashers) then you'd see less ordders/volume & just make less money in general because people with high AR get first dibs
Hey Zach, I just want to say I thank God for you, your advice, and your informational content about dashing. I been doing doordash and uber eats for a minute to make money, while slowing building up a following for my own content. And being able to learn and watch your content and some other gig drivers has really been encouraging, so now i am a lot more confident about not wasting time while I'm out there making money. Thank you again, bro, and May God bless you!
I am a platinum dasher, 85 rate, and I have to say that in my market, the catering orders are worth keeping my rate up. I won't take anything less than a dollar per mile, but because I hardly get those orders anymore, I don't have to reject as many. I make my goal easily, and get quite a lot of catering orders well over $20. Just did a Smokey Bones delivery day before yesterday to a football team at the college stadium for a $55 tip. That one was abnormally high, sure. But I regularly see $20 orders, with quite a few $30 plus peppered in. But that's my experience in my market.
@@11bravo80 Hey, have your laughs. I just finished out my night with a $34 catering order and two large orders over $20. So there's that.
First thing ANY prospective Dasher needs to know is that no two markets are the same, and not every Dasher in the SAME MARKET will have the same experience. There are a lot of variables at play. That's why all these Dasher experience videos should be taken with a grain of salt. I'm comfortable with my experience. Am I gonna get rich? Nope. But I make more now working 5-7 hours a day 5 days a week than I made at my greuling 40 hour a week job. And the complete and total freedom I get doing this is something I never dreamed of honestly. And that's enough for me.
Same in my market. I stay between 70-80% AR due to the LOP. It is worth keeping it up that high because the $25-40 payouts are worth it. Still see alot of garbage orders, but you just have to be strategic about what you do and don't accept.
Same long its dollor mile am going ....truck driver dont get dollar miles ... 😂😂
You do realize though only a dollar a mile you’re basically just breaking even when you take those? What about all the dead miles back to wherever you have to drive to? And your not guaranteed to get another order after that
Nope. I totally agree with you. During covid I was making $130-$300 bucks a day. It's nothing like this now. Too many drivers, lowered base pay, increased gas prices, etc. Not worth doing it anymore. I've gotten better gigs doing crappy work. That tells me something...time to get out
My acceptance rate is 26% but I don't care about acceptance rate I care about how much and how far and where it's going also where I'm picking up from.
Well said my friend!
A sushi place and jersey mikes is where all the good orders are for me with my 28% 😂 I was at 41 on Monday and am currently at 28. I made alot more tonight than I did ever. I only been dashing a week. I'm no expert but I did see better orders with my lower ar.
My rate 26 percent I get good orders in Dallas but I don’t do this shit all the time so idc I did it today since 3 years

Hey Angela, I think the pay decreasing is largely to people feeling the economic squeeze. Good to hear from you! I hope all is well.
It's the economy and inflation. I too am in so cal, la jolla to be exact. I have a 27% AR. The last few months have been awful. I am friends with top dashers in the area and they are struggling just as I am. With gas prices being ridiculous and food prices being the same there are just less delivery orders. I am pretty close to a lot of restaurant owners in my area, even regular business for them is slow. California is bleeding. Most cannot afford delivery apps. It's the economy hurting you, not your AR.
Hey, Zach, love the vids! I JUST got to 10% acceptance today, from 3%, lol. My market is horrible! Dayton Ohio area. It IS better since the kids went back to school but, I STILL see crappy low paying orders ALL the time! A fellow Dasher is at 76% and he gets the same orders that I do. In fact, we sit next to each other and send the crap back and forth until we get something good. Lol.
Hahah! I've thought about that! Artificial BP offer inflation. 😆
I dash in Beavercreek/Huber Heights with a 50% acceptance rate.
It can be a struggle no doubt for good pay
My acceptance rate is 28%. 😂 I am in Knoxville, Tennessee. I have been doing this almost a month. Still learning, this is just something to make extra money. Been watching videos on RUclips. This really helps, thanks.
@@April-lr1gk 90%- Chattanooga. It's murder and the learning curve narrows but doesn't disappear. All the best to you!- as I don't think I'd have the patience for Knox.
Happy to help! Great video! 7 eleven order was brutal lol
Another great video🎉 I might need to try that sometime right now my market is oversaturated with drivers on all apps so I recently got me a regular nine-to-five job but still do doordash on the side and mostly been doing pay by time mostly to keep me from sitting there waiting 30 minutes for an order to pop
Aye the lower the AR the bigger the baller. I am at 8%. Also props to driving stick. I do too and sometimes I hate it in traffic but it keeps delivering entertaining most of the time
I don't care what my acceptance rate is. If it does not make good business sense, I will not take it. I am not running a charity service for non-tips.
Always preachin the good word Zack. Love it
Always good to hear from you! The narrative will never change!
I have exactly the same experience as you. Doordash pays the lowest and had the most low to no tip customers in my market. I have had a high acceptance rate and a low and nothing made a difference and it was all about proximity.
I can't fathom how we are almost in 2024 and people don't tip. You think the holiday season people would be more generous. Nooope. Those people deserve coal
@@christopherranallo1310because those cheap asses think $5-$10 tip will make them richer. Don’t blame them though, DD and Uber should be sued and pay more to drivers, so even when people don’t tip drivers can make generous amount of money.
Thanks for another ride along vid. Always good to have reassurance that the 50% AR program makes zero difference.
Hey Justin, always good to hear from you! Hope all is well.
Great vid… one of your best… as always excellent info and production! Thanks Zach. 😃
My AR is 14% right now because I just can't take any bs orders. 👎🏾🤪
I'm glad you did this video because I always wondered if I'm right next to a popular spot with a low AR would I be looked over in favor of another driver with high AR who is further away. I know the answer now. 😁
Thanks for the upload. 👍🏾🤜🏾
I’ve been around 48-50% for the last couple weeks. I don’t see any difference in my orders. I see the same undesirable orders if I’m at 50% or 5%. Right now I’ve been Walmart sparking and doing food delivery in between orders so Doordash is paused a lot. It works for me. I found it hilarious that you hate medical establishments lol. Me too. The Mall is an automatic decline for me too. 😂
He is right about that acception rate don't matter my acceptance rate on doordash is 10% and I still get good orders😂😂
Zack, I lose out all the time to other drivers with a higher acceptance rate on DD even if I am much closer to the restaurant. My acceptance rate is 4% and Doordash has pretty much stopped sending me anything that pays super well and I can be inside McDonald's sitting and watch multiple drivers come in and pick up orders while I was never pinged for them. You will miss out on many offers with a low acceptance rate unfortunately. Orange County, CA. Prop 22 here.
That's why I'm glad I have UberEATS as a backup and honestly I like UberEATS because I seem to see higher pay offers
@@kevinmangold9857 same
@larryt510 where do you do door dash in Orange County
I’m from Orange County too
Been so so lately lucky I’m in the LOP program I get 1 or 2 a day it helps a lot
Hey Larry, admittedly, I've never driven in your market so I can't speak to it, but AR in my market truly doesn't make a difference for anything but hours. I'll probably be in CA early next year and I'd like to check out some of the markets that way.
@@daddydoordasher714 I'm in the city of Orange. I'm not in any program. Never qualified for anything.
There he is! I took a few month break... and they reset my AR (100) ... well, I dashed this past weekend... and I am barely above 50... orders have pretty much stayed the same through my decline.. some good, some great, and about 1/2 not worth taking.
Hey Sparky! It sounds like my market. Give me a shout tomorrow if you have time.
@@ZachDrivesFast I'll be on the road heading south early tomorrow, but I'll give you a holler after lunch....unless evening is better?
My AR generally floats between 10-15%. The other day I had just logged on and on my way to "restaurant row". I was about two miles away from that main area when a $20 stacked offer came up. The restaurants were just across the street from each other and the delivery address was the same for both orders (a business). A total of less than 4 miles in all. Of course I'm going to take it. This was around 11:30 AM. I ended up with a $53.75 pay out! For a low AR dasher who has to decline a LOT of offers. What made me so special that this offer would come to me? I'm not complaining, just curious.
Location
The pay rate per mile is definitly important. But the driver's time is limited. Assume that a driver can only complete on average 3 deliveries an hours. Those sub $7.00 offers for 3 miles means your hourly rate will be reduced, thus they are actually bad offers. You need to take into account time for waiting and driving back to your power zone of Restos.
I agree with you. DD is the lowest paying in my market and my focus tends to be on UE or Spark. I just wanted to give an example of the types of orders I see in my market on DD specifically.
So I'm going to start DDing soon, everything I've read, and the videos like this I've seen. How the hell does anyone have a 70%+ acceptance rate? I mean I know how, but why? There's no way they're getting 7 orders worth taking out of 10. Most of what I see, 20% could even be pushing it. I'll probably only DD as a super small side thing, maybe just 1 or 2 orders a day so I'll definitely be in the 1-2% club along with you lol.
I wasn't sure if a person could even DD when they only accept 1 order out of 2-3 dozen. But your video definitely gave me a good look inside, even if you're in a much different area, and I'll be doing it on an Electric Scooter. I have an idea of how it could go.
Great video brotha 👍🏿
I appreciate you!
Youre going to hate me i have an 88%ar 3 reasons its that high its been slower in my market for breakfast and lunch second is the powet of stacking and routing thrid is the moet powerful is shopping do some leg work people!
Honestly, me with a higher AR means more orders. I don’t mind honestly because I seen the difference verse having above and below 70% AR.
Plus, the orders aren’t bad in terms of distance in my market. I’ve had just much orders on 74% than I did on 68%. But that’s just me
I hover around 8-9% AR and I still catch 15+ orders. In my market, spark is the big hotter. Dash is time filler. Plus I know how many in my area strive to keep theirs high, so I have zero issue throwing 7s and 8s away
Oh man I literally felt your pain with all of those drinks in one order!!!! I hate when there are drinks in an order!! 🤦♀️🙄 haha
Good video man.
I appreciate it!
Fellow manual driver... We love our jobs.
As a travel Dasher with high ratings and a 5.00 customer rating, I still get sent a bunch of B.S. orders However, I also get really good orders.
My acceptance rate was almost 100%, but now it is 79%. It was high because I have been dashing by time the majority of the time this year, but now dash by order so I can cut out the B.S.
As for Top Dasher, I am over that also. Still get absolutely horrendous orders where the pay amount is way lower than the mileage. And terrible customer service most of the time.
As for Doordash, they really need to understand that a $3 order going almost 8 miles is not high priority. Got that Monday night 😂
i dont know how you dash by time cause all that is is doing grunt work for no tippers and what i found out about no tippers is they are the my shittest people and they are always the ones that will be spamming you in the message box or wanting you to do extra shit for no tip.
@virgo4200 It really depends on where you dash. Some places are really good on earn by time, and others you just deliver all the B.S. If I get too many B.S. orders, I end my dash, and switch to earn per order.
yea true ...everytime i do earn by time its high miles and just not worth it in my area@@JokersSti
That 7-11 order was definitely FUCKERY!!! Lmao 😂😂😂 That would be my luck to!!!
Proximity does not matter Zach.. that one order was decline by the others drivers so you got it.
AR is pointless lol. 1.00 a mile is more like 50 cents because you have to drive back. 2.00 per mile 6.25 minimum for me
exactly i dont accept anything lower than 6 bucks
when my AR was in the teens felt like DD was ghosting me!!! now I'm in the 70s and doing better! every market is different. not going to lie sometimes I have to take shit orders but if I keep my AR high I have room to play so I don't just take bad orders!!!
I just started dashing a month now thank to you guys my acceptance rate is at 30 percent but still making $150 in 3 hours 😂😂😂😂. I’m doing over $1.50 a mile or nothing.
I love it! Good on you for doing your research!
I noticed when i had platinum dasher status they kept trying to manipulate me into taking low paying orders to keep it. I would get some for $4 going 1 mile and DD would mark it as high paying🤦♂️
Hey Zach I'm in your same market (Bellingham) but I can almost never go live on doordash because my acceptance rate is so low how are you able to go live when you want to? Also if you have any specific Bellingham tips I'd love to hear them and maybe I'll see you out on the road!
Zach, one of your creative vlogs yet!
Thank you so much! I'm almost embarrassed to admit how long it took me to edit.
I can hear the guitar riff from "down with the sickness" except your saying - i declined with a quickness
I would accept the hospital addon. Even if i have to take food up elevator, it is 10 min tops. If it was Uber, i might not have accepted though as im always worried that if things dont go perfect, they will take my tip.
Great video 😊
I got down to 1% a little while ago. I guess I'm shooting for 0% now. Will it even go to zero? I had a guy on Reddit try to shame me for such a low AR; he accused me of cherry picking. Well, I guess I am cherry picking if call someone waiting for orders that pay $2.00 per mile with a 6 buck minimum.
Yeah dude not taking 14 miles for $10, not in my v-6 maybe with motorcycle I'll take all orders
I'm new. I hate that you only have a few seconds to accept it. It's another gimick. They put the timer to add pressure. How do you know if the drop off is a medical center or crappy apartments? I wish customers would put the building # or letter their apt # is in. They say AR doesn't matter and legally they can't judge us by that, but... sure seems like they do. There is a banner that says im getting high paying orders because my AR is high. Also, as someone who lost their career to AI... There is going to more and more people looking for work.
It's so weird, and my area delivering to medical staff is great. And many other markets it's a mess. In a hospital I only have to put it on the table at the front door. It's hit or miss with good payouts. But when is hitting I take the order.
I don't get why some markets are lit for medical offices and others are horrible. Most seem to avoid it, but from time to time, I have drivers tell me that medical offices are some of their best customers.
My acceptance rate right now is 15% but I still seem to get decent orders as long as I’m out here. I do just fine with cherry picking! I’m in Salem, Oregon.
I would of accepted the hospital order add on, but only because in my market, I can park right near the ER doors, run inside the waiting room, and they got a little table that make all food delivery offers be dropped at, even hand it to me's have to go there so i just fire up my phones record function on those drop it off and away I go. quick in an out.
I reset my AR as well and i was still getting LOTS of garbage orders so like whats the point lol
Hospital daytime nope receptionist wont let you leave a drs or nurse's order theyre so rude so catering only night is to er reception or maternity easy peasy
So WHO takes the low/trash offers? The sizeable percentage of those kind of offers remains somewhat consistent, whos delivering them the platinum folks who accept offers based on ensuring 8 out of 10 offers get accepted, or by the dashers who only take what they want and continue to decline low offers , indifferent to AR and other gimmicks? Who takes them then? Why would they send the low offers to the people who are known to just decline?
My acceptance rate is always between 1% - 5%. I would accept that $7 and call them that you don’t want to go upstairs because you don’t have a mask , so quick drop off. They can’t cancel your tip , like in Uber so In uber you have to be careful because they cancel tips all the time, but doordash , no.
how do you get to do it during the day? i’ve tried different zones it only lets me dash around 6-10pm it always just says schedule but when i am able to the orders are decent and consistent
I never worry about AR it doesn't matter .All a gimmick to get low pay orders delivered it's how DD became what they are today by getting orders delivered without having to raise the base pay.
I get the same but scheduling is a bitch in my area. I only do this part time. I need to squeeze in when i can. My stats are all green 💚.
Door dash is turning drivers into cut throat sociopaths...LOL!
in large order, alcohol and shop n deliver. Average 30/hr. Acceptance rate = 4%
Maintained top Dasher for 1 year complete and I can say acceptance rate does not matter. Nor is the top dasher worth it.
Any idea why my ar would go from 70 to 50 in 3 days that I did not log on
I don't see the difference. The only thing is I don't like to schedule. I like to dash anytime.
So...do you just hit decline of let it time out?
My AR is at 1% all my orders 2.25, 4.25, 3.25 all day
I try to keep above 70% I make $1000 a week with around 28-32 hours. I’m okay with that.
DD/UE’s ideal driver is really, really stupid and can’t count. Someone who will see “$2.50 for 1.2 miles” marked “High-paying order!!!” and will jump at it. I reset my very, VERY low acceptance rate and saw literally zero difference, except that crappy orders had a “HPO!!!” tag.
My AR rarely goes over 10%. I’m usually around 2-3% FOR THE DAY (which means I’m usually at 0% 😂)
In my area UE has become even worse. I pretty much dropped it - it just rings in the background. The moment I saw a $0.49 base pay for 6 miles - I was done. They kept referring to the tip and couldn’t understand when I kept telling them “the tip is none of your business! Explain this base pay!!!”
Unfortunately, there’s an abundance of the above-mentioned very, very stupid drivers who can’t count.
Your voice is amazing
How much can yall work if your acceptance goes under 50 percent? Can you only work certain hours or all day
It really depends on the market. Some are usually busy enough for the driver to get on most of the time without scheduling. DoorDash is probably my least paying app, so it's an afterthought for me. If I check it and the map is red, I'll sign in. If not, I have other apps I make decent money on.
@@ZachDrivesFast what apps do you use beside door dash
Screw all those drinks lol
There was actually one more slurpy that you couldn't see due to the way I was holding them. I wasn't a happy camper...lol!
@@ZachDrivesFast damn I hate drinks they should be $2 extra lol
I avoid any delivery that is not an actual business..food trucks included.
They just use high acceptance rates to tell them that THIS is the idiot that will take the poor paying orders that other drivers wont accept..! "THEY" just want to keep their customers calling...
Must be nice to live in a market where you don’t need the dash now feature. You have to have it where I live or you won’t make any money. There’s too many dashers and not enough dashes and the other apps people don’t really use. I had 4 dog shit high mileage orders with little to no pay back to back today and just said fuck it. Maybe the holiday has something to do with people being cheap lazy asses. Even going to the city you need the dash now if you plan to make over $200 a day. When it’s available you make more money doing dash by time cause almost all orders have some sort of tip plus people can’t be bothered to meet you till after a few minutes after you arrive when they want you to hand it to them
77%... only because early access to scheduling
Thanks
So are the "High Paying Orders" just slapped with a pretty 💎 to get you to take it?😅

By the way, I like how you shot this video. Especially with all the little cutscenes and everything. I presume that you finally got yourself a dash camera for your car.
I LMAO over all of those drinks that you had in the car. But you know what? There's an easy way to haul all those drinks. Place them inside of a milk crate.
