    Did my first dash hours yesterday! I took a person with me to help with navigation of the app. Very helpful, but I'll have to do it alone to see for real how this will go. A couple of my places had drive thru only, long waits! I will be declining the long distance ones too, wasted time and gas for the orders. Lesson learned!!! Tips where less than doordash pay, but nice for first try. Thank you for the straightforward video, I need to fix my navigation audio as well.

    One tip is when you have confirmed pick up and go to directions so you can drive to where it needs to go you can zoom out and see the recommended route from point a to point b. This way if you're familiar with the area you're in you can get a clear idea of where you're going before you even start driving😊🤘

Thank you for making these videos. I have thought about doing DD or UE for a long time, but for some reason, am nervous to try them. I guess I get pretty anxious when I'm new at something. I was nervous too, so I just started with a few deliveries a week to feel it out. I slowly started recognizing patterns like best restaurants, most profitable areas, which customers don't tip and which do, which times are worth working and when the best promotions are. It's a bit of a learning curve but you'll get the hang of it! Start small, good luck :)

      I was pumped to start IC but once I began I was so nervous and anxiety set in. I still struggle with the anxiety while shopping and the clock is ticking. I’ve been doing it two months and not making the best $$ nothing over $500/wk yet. Don’t know what I’m doing wrong. I will keep at it and hopefully things pick up! As for the anxiety? I face it everyday and the more you do it, the more the anxiety will subside. Resist the devil and he will flee from you!! Face the fear!! All the best!💪🏼😊🪴🇨🇦

    I decided to sign up just in case I decided to try it. Watched a few videos. So what I got is, depends on how busy it is you'll be making good amount of deliveries, your location of dashing, and don't take miles that are bigger than the dollars, like 9 miles for a $5 delivery for example.

    • @deathjoker666
      @deathjoker666 2 года назад

    • @rofyle
      @rofyle 2 года назад +8

      I've been doing it since October. $1 per mile is my standard, no orders under $5.25 regardless of how few miles, and no Wendy's period (all their lobbies are closed).
      Be careful about "peak hours". Peak hours are hours during which Door Dash will usually pay $1, $2 or $3 more per order. The problem is in most cases they offer this because there aren't enough dashers on the road scheduled during these hours. There's a reason for this. It's because these hours are usually very slow.
      Dinner is usually the highest paying. Lunch the second. And then if you're up early enough, don't skip out on breakfast hours, because that's when peak pay actually does pay out well. In my area it's usually 5 am - 9 am.
      One last thing. Don't be afraid to decline bad orders. This is the number one mistake new dashers make. They think that if they decline too many orders, then DD will stop sending them good orders or even boot them off. Not true. We're independent contractors. You have the full freedom to decline orders you don't like. Taking a bunch of small orders will hurt you in the end. You can't make money that way, and no tip customers are usually the sort you don't want to deliver to anyway. My acceptance rate usually hovers between 30 - 40%.

I was only getting orders for about 5 of them (active time was 5 hours 20 minutes), so hourly I ended up making like 13 bucks. If you stick to 2-3 hours during the lunch and dinner rush you’ll save yourself tons of time (and gas sitting in parking lots)

    That's the main thing I learned from the vids was to turn down all the 3 dollar nonsense. I won't deliver to someone if they can't even bring themselves to tip. I try to accept only orders that pay out roughly $1 per mile or more, otherwise the gas expense and time is just not worth it. Settled on $6 as my personal "minimum". For my area, that's something like $3 from base pay and $3 from tip.

    To be fair, it certainly isn’t $30/hr if you factor in gas/depreciation/and increased FICA vs traditional employment but it’s still pretty great for a side gig.
    Full time would be much sketchier, as averages from less productive hours would bring down your earnings.
    The best scenario seems to be traditional employment (ideally with access to benefits like medical/dental) with supplemental side income.

    I very rarely decline I will let the time run out and then I will take a crappy order if I have to and then I will just keep letting the time run out if you let the time run out on more than three orders in a row then you get dinged for acceptance.

    I think they give new people the ability to dash anytime for a month

    • @CS-en5xz
      @CS-en5xz 3 года назад

      Yes they give them 2 weeks of top dasher status and flood the market with them so if theres 10 new drivers sitting around you then they get 1st pick on the orders. Nothing against the new people but about sick of door trash games

      My area was closed due to too many dashers in area, then this week they sent a code and after I entered code and gave all pertinent info, the background check took about 5 minutes LOL an hour later I did my first dash. But app was wonky and it kept telling me: Go to Panda Express even though I was there. Then they pulled that order from me and sent me somewhere else

      Hi. When you go to the UberEats app there are settings re: getting paid. Go to the 'Wallet' section then 'Settings' and you'll see where you can link your bank accounts.

    2st dash I made $17 for 2 deliveried @ 1 hr 38 mins. Map took me intp insane detours with no help. People had literally zero numbers on their housed. The people would not put on their porch light and had only 2 of the 4 numbers of their address. I’m walking like a slave house to house just trying to see the house numbers. I couldn’t see any icons or directions to call the person. It was hot as hell & the neighborhood was bogus. Then I was exhausted & had to go home. I was ready to have a nervous breakdown - all for $17. I will never dash after dark again. I’m sign up for instacart & UE and whoever else that will have me. What a disaster.

    • @mitchabrams4082

    Never ever leave your car running while dropping off food. Not worth. My son did that with my car a few months ago. Now I no longer have that car cuz a man stole it within a few seconds
