I have been a Doordash driver since jan 2nd 2023. I have 5443 Lifetime delivery's. I put anywhere from 50-70 dashtime every week. And get about 28-35 active hours a week. I have been top dasher/platinum since day 1 and never lost it. I have a 74%AR 100%CR 5 Star 96% on time or early. And I can have days where i literally get 8-12 orders in a 12 hour day. Or I can have days where I get 35-40 orders in a 12 hour day. Im full time and no other job. I also cant go to any other starting point unless I want to drive 2 hours each way. Im literally in the middle of nowhere. Blythe CA. Now i have had days where i made $20 but i have also had days where i make $350+ On a holiday weekend you can bank $750-$1000 on a 4 dad weekend. I love Red card orders they are my bread and butter of the job. And i usually get 2-3 shopping orders on 1 trip. And then lastly i use bags and guarantee my customers hot fast food or cold and frozen groceries. Its the best job I have ever had. But there are down days. But you get out of it what you put in.
Gold is pretty much the same as getting your first 50 deliveries. I dashed with a platinum driver while doing my first 100 and not just got more orders but they were frequently better. She made a little more money but had a lower active time and lower miles. It’s better but it’s not drastic enough to be that noticeable. But if you can compare 2 people where everything is the same except rank, it’s better.
I've been doordashing for a month now and I've been watching a few people trying to study food delivery but I really like the way you think especially when it comes to wasting time. That's exactly how I think. I'm still pretty slow I'm still trying to figure out a rhythm but I do believe I can reach to the top someday! New subscriber here thank you!
Its the ultimate goal of most doordash content creators!!!! To only dash 1 or 2hrs a day and make videos, if your videos are postive you can be in contract with DD and make money, if they are negative the youtube algorithm will bury your visibility!!! When I unsubscribed too all the content creators is when I found 8,000 more dasher content creators!!!! Its funny how the youtube algorthm works!!!!! I predict by 2026 every local and migrant will be 1 out 5 making a video delivering food to your home!!!! Beware of the DD bots that will show up in your comments though!!!!
2:21 this is what I use, I live outside Los Angeles, it’s city, it’s over saturated with dashers, I’m always logged in and stay home or running errands and dash whenever it comes up, then prop 22 it doesn’t matter much if it’s low paying because i get a pay adjustment, it’s usually $33/hr, the mileage is included in their algorithm, once I got 42/hr adjustment but I did a ridiculously far order that week… like one I wouldn’t normally do and the pay wasn’t good, I forget the exact numbers.
What Ive learned about this stuff in the past 7 months, is that cherry picking (decision making) vs having a high AR is no different in hind sight but only miles! Its all drama in the end and Im a cherry picker that averages 350 to 450 deliveries a month depending on shop n pays fulltime! Hi, im from New Zealand, and have been doing door dash on Thursday and Friday, as i have my main job. Some questions i like to ask, is do you have downtime between orders say about 15 to 20 minutes, and how do you stay disciplined to continue going and not be bored? I tend to only make $60 each day, despite my zone have 100 or more testaurants in the area i work in. I think i know my issue is not being disciplined enough to stay out longer, cause i can get frustrated, and ive only done a couple of night shifts, as i dont feel comfortable workimg at nigjt. So badically this long question lol, is how do you discipline yourself in betwern waiting for orders.
You need to find a section in your area with several popular (high volume of delivery orders) restaurants. After you complete a delivery find an area on the map shaded in RED. Usually it will have a "flame" pictured in it. This would be a "hot zone". Not all hot zones are created equally. Get a clipboard and create a log sheet noting the time, the name and address of the restaurant. If you have 20 minutes between orders you have time to write. You will begin to see a pattern develop. After each delivery head back to the same area where you get the most requests. Your volume will increase.
I go on tik tok and wait lol. If one spot is getting no orders I might move to another spot but ultimately it sucks not getting good orders and just waiting around.
I listen to podcasts to learn new things while waiting. I find that as soon as I'm actively using my downtime I get an oder...lol Take an online class in your downtime, or even read.
Those could be watched off the clock. I think he’s getting at a bad work ethic because he transitioned into not being assertive when picking up orders from that point.
If your too "assertive" at the vendor, they'll overlook you. I try to make friends so they know me, or at least respect what I'm doing. After that all you need to do is show up, and they call my name
I agree. They've frustrated me a couple of times when I lose signal, make my delivery, and drive down the road until I can find a signal and confirm delivery. They've taken me off the schedule accusing me of missing deadlines. I've called them on the phone and let them know that is not acceptable. DD is well aware that their GPS loses signal, and they need to stop penalizing drivers when it appears there's a late delivery when, in fact, there's not.
And how do you do any of that i live near Seattle and even when dash claims its very busy in my area and it should only take up to 3 minutes to get an order theres times i sit for more than 30 min and don’t get an order
Scheduling hasn't worked in my location for months since the tier change. The scheudle litteraly only opens up at about 9-9:30pm-11:30pm-12am...i have no clue how there are other dashers getting scheduled all day, I'm presuming new dashers have been given priority for the timeframe of the tier launch. Doesn't matter what hour it used to get busy at specific times of the day and now nothing it stays white all day. It was never a bad area. It just litteraly happend suddenly affer the tier update. I feel like my complaints i sent to dasher support put some kind of restriction in my area.. I can drive almost 200miles to a larger city like SFO bay area and work like I used to.
I've had the same issue. And I've never really had trouble getting order thru the late night until then. Lately the orders have been too small $ wise to travel more than like 5 miles or so. Driving 5 miles to pick up an order and another 6 miles or so for 5 or 6 dollars to me is a waste. Ur using gas just to replace the gas u just used. They should also had a lil bit more of an incentive for late night drivers. Just my thoughts
You don’t absolutely need a car that does 30 mpg, it’s not really always doable. I started in a car that got 20 combined. How you drive matters, ease up on the throttle.
When I was doing DD, I found that they would offer you an order by hour, which would hide the fact that an order would only pay about $3 to $5. I never found a way to choose between the two options. I no longer work for DD; they treat drivers abysmally.
Door dash $7 or Walmart Spark $20-$30 orders shopped and delivered in one hour. Which one would you choose? Not Door dash, Hell No. Door dash is trash!😅

If I were to drive for doordash, and my insurance doesn't insure me while driving for doordash. It seems that doordash's insurance only covers the other party, rather than the driver and their vehicle. Is that correct? Need help on this if you can.
If god forbid you get in an accident don’t say your were working because you will not be covered! . I don’t use the delivery bags just to be safe , I leave them in the trunk but never inside the vehicle while driving .

Look into rental cars with hertz just watched a driver on RUclips make a video about it he pays 320$ ish for 2 weeks and makes 200$ a day usually in Vegas dashing. He gets better rates than most cause he caters to them lol but if you are over 25 you should look into rental rates and it should go down overtime with the company building a history with you renting there cars.
Get a hybrid bro, I get 40 to the gallon, bought a used hybrid for 14 grand, in 7 months put 35 thousand miles on it! I found used hybrids for 2grand and some for 4 grand!!! Youll save 100 dollars a week if you do this fulltime!!! Thats 400 a month!
I no longer work for DD because of the way they treat drivers. For instance, they would send me very wrong directions, and then accuse me of late deliveries. They would also accuse me of late deliveries when their sorry system would take me off line in many neighborhoods to where I would have to driver down the street and find a signal to complete a delivery. They would then accuse of me late deliveries when this happened. I had very high numbers (way above their requirement) when they dropped me back to gold where I couldn't make any money. I'm done with them.
Iv dashed for about 2 days or about 7 hours total, and i would say im averaging about 20 to 26$ per hour. And maybe 10$ worth of gas for those 7 hours.
I only door dash, I pay my bills and have extra. I don't get 30 miles a gallon. Not everyone can get a new car just because. I don't do hourly wage I do pay per day. As long as I do that I'm good. And forget that gas and miles is a write-off. I'm platinum and I don't take every dash I'm offered. If its under a certain amount I skip it.
I would say definitely text the customer if there's an issue at the store or on your route or if you can't find the apartment. As a person who orders doordash once a week..I tip more for good communication and following instructions. Although one guy texted me Bible scriptures one time and it was kimda weird. I still tipped, tho.😂😅

No disrespect sir, but does door dash give you a script to follow for your monologe?! On first guess, many of us would say no because of the tricky click bait. Second thru my twentieth guess says that dd scripts you at least to some degree if not to a larger degree. I say and ask this because its confusing as all heck out here and alot of these techniques you and the other YT informers (that all sound eerily similar (from the editing, voice cadence and content)) are common sense anyway. Most average IQ's do not need a detailed explanation. If its in fact true that DD scripts you, then that should be aforementioned. Otherwise, its deceitful. So--TBH these videos do not help us much at all. I told a driver recently that the best way any driver can learn this job is to go out and get the spankings you will evitably get no matter what you do and very becareful who you get advice from. To your credit, you basically said that part when you mentioned experimenting with different techniques. Shalom! 🇮🇱
The tips and tricks you're giving are extremely vague and they are not helpful at all you're telling everybody to figure it out themselves so in my opinion you should take the video down because you're not actually giving anyone any advice and also I don't know what you're talking about making 12 to 22.00 an hour I was looking up an answer because I'm making 2 to 7.00 an hour and the information you have given me was not helpful in any way shape or form.
@@walmart-vz3lz They treat drivers like dirt, that's why. I was accused of late deliveries when they gave me wrong directions. Is declining orders bad? How many decline can you have during a session?
I just turned down a 2$ order
$2 or $4 is not worth it.
Gotta get that acceptance rate up. Gotta eat some crow to run with the big dogs. If you want to run with the big dogs you gotta learn to piss in the tall grass. Gotta have some good luck 🤞
@@Leonardo-on9sp hahaha 😂 you think having accepting rate up will get you big orders. My AR is 7% I make more money than top dashers. Higher the AR more trash orders you get. I have been doing this before the pandemic.

Sometimes there's no orders out there but a $2 at that exact moment
Top tier platinum or not
Being at the wrong place at the wrong time is real
This issue is you can't be picky with orders if you want to be top/plat driver....
Ive learned it all adds up at the end of the shift. I've actually done alright. I guess I could complain but in not gonna 😮
Doesn’t matter if the market is saturated! More DD hires more problems we get and less money we make
Yes I can see this. I have picked up DoorDash as a part time thing to help save up to afford some airline tickets and it’s going to be physically impossible in my area to get to where I need to savings wise by the time I need it.
I’ve only been doing this a week or so and got moved up “Gold” so I’m supposed to get better offers. Still getting the same as before.
But they made you feel special with the gold rating, huh. Yup, those $25hr orders oughta be rolling in any ole minute now…….
I’m platinum and still get mostly $5-$7 orders not worth even trying to chase tiers
I have been a Doordash driver since jan 2nd 2023. I have 5443
Lifetime delivery's. I put anywhere from 50-70 dashtime every week. And get about 28-35 active hours a week. I have been top dasher/platinum since day 1 and never lost it. I have a
74%AR
100%CR
5 Star
96% on time or early.
Blythe CA.
Now i have had days where i made $20 but i have also had days where i make $350+
On a holiday weekend you can bank $750-$1000 on a 4 dad weekend.
Not gonna see a real difference until you hit silver/platinum
I've been doordashing for a month now and I've been watching a few people trying to study food delivery but I really like the way you think especially when it comes to wasting time. That's exactly how I think. I'm still pretty slow I'm still trying to figure out a rhythm but I do believe I can reach to the top someday! New subscriber here thank you!
One more way to make money delivering is to monetize a RUclips channel. lol. That might actually be easier than being successful delivering.
Great video Blake! I hustle to the restaurant, hustle the order to the door and have the phone ready to go as I’m going. $$$
What Ive learned about this stuff in the past 7 months, is that cherry picking (decision making) vs having a high AR is no different in hind sight but only miles! Its all drama in the end and Im a cherry picker that averages 350 to 450 deliveries a month depending on shop n pays fulltime! I still see catering orders and BS offers and at the end of the day takin 2 days off I still break 1k a week easily!!!!
Wowww! That’s awesome!
@@MommywithaPurpose Yeah, its normal, i mean you can google DD salaries etc.. its like 40hrs a week is 900 on avg but just knock out a few more deliveries to make that 1000. Or get greedy to make 1400 or so buy sacrificing your days off, which I dont recommend especially in the summer time when u want to fire up the grill and get yard work done and chores etc....and to gain peace of mind!
@@danguts2844summertime fun and peace of mind - yes!! I have to work around my son but I know it can be done because my friend who's been Dashing for years says she dashes until she delivers 10 orders or makes $100 and said she always makes $100 before reaching the 10!
It's terrible in Miami, barely getting 6 to 10 orders. I rarely decline cause they are super strict here. If you decline 1 order you won't see another for an hour or two or three.
The really sweet area is downtown and brickell but there's nowhere to park.
So you get ticketed or towed.
When I get in my car I'm texting the customer that I picked up their food then I add that I'm on my way to them now.
Do you guys just click picked up order and that's it?
I make 1k/1200 a week but using the bot by gigshield I prefer doordash shop and pay than food runs. I’m in so cal.
How do I get the bot
I think it's crap to get slammed for declining offers. I got one for $7.50 to drive 19 miles..... F that.
Youngstown/Boardman OH market. Platinum Level, $100-$150/shift & 100-200 miles/shift. For 2024 the IRS Mileage deduction is $0.67/mile.
Wow man, just drive ur car to china LOL!!!! Holy crap offers!!!!!
I’m in the Columbus market , same thing
Though with high mileage youd not have to pay much in taxes..
My wife and I are from Howland/Warren area. Started DD last week and have only dashed maybe 8 hours total making around $270. I need to calculate the miles per shift from now on. We both work full time so this is just extra money. Hopefully it’s worth it!
@@SkillDontMatter You can either write down the mileage as Ive seen locals do or just use everlance or solo or what ever to track them. Theres controversy on what u can really claim lol ,,, theres many arguments on channels of whats legit, are u not claiming the commute time from leaving ur driveway, or are u accepting an order from leaving ur driveway! DD use to tell u the mileage and now they dont from the end of ur shift or dash!!! Does ur tax guy stamp ur work or are u responsible in the end or is your tax guy responsible? I learned this from a limo driver buddy I have!!
You really shouldn't complain about drivers watching videos, because those videos could be YOURS!
The truth is that is awful and stressful to work with dd
Any advice on why my app freezes every time I am on a stacked order. Right as I am dropping off the first order. Everytime. HELP
And how do you do any of that i live near Seattle and even when dash claims its very busy in my area and it should only take up to 3 minutes to get an order theres times i sit for more than 30 min and don’t get an order
Facts.
You do a great job thanks for your advice I watched you a couple years now I’m at 7000 deliveries
You don’t absolutely need a car that does 30 mpg, it’s not really always doable. I started in a car that got 20 combined. How you drive matters, ease up on the throttle.
I'm making my account to dash now. I live in New York, what do you recommend?
So is getting paid by hour, or paid by offer better?
Paid by offer
When I was doing DD, I found that they would offer you an order by hour, which would hide the fact that an order would only pay about $3 to $5. I never found a way to choose between the two options. I no longer work for DD; they treat drivers abysmally.
Why choose solo over gridwise?
Door dash $7 or Walmart Spark $20-$30 orders shopped and delivered in one hour. Which one would you choose? Not Door dash, Hell No. Door dash is trash!😅
I learned about Spark too late....it's saturated now in my zone.
I have attempted to get on with Spark, and it appears that there're no opportunities in No. Georgia. I couldn't even find where I could place my name on a waiting list.
Eh... maybe don't recommend breaking the law...
Exactly.
Tell those lawbreakers what they ignore, not the fluff in between.
Amein
People don't order every day either...
True but some people do order serval times a day though
Sum do
Hi Blake- After looking at the Doordash insurance, it appears that doordash does not insure the driver's vehicle. I'm having trouble finding out this information.
You’re right about being assertive!
Ok so, I got deactivated 🙃 can I still use my dasher direct card for the new account or do I need to get a new one?
I would get a new one. You want no connection with the old one. Something to think about.
HELP ‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️
Has anyone Dashed for 4 hours on a scheduled Door Dash and not received 1 order in that time?
I have. They say they are busy and I wait around for hours then they send crap orders $2 or $3
O shit we found the main man of doordash I know a few people who do this an they just do it for a extra income not a career . It’s always a hit an miss same as if you would be a delivery driver at a pizza shop. An people don’t be dumb an don’t pay for what he is talking about your dumb if you do. Come on open up thinking don’t throw your money away for something that is absolutely BS how about this get a better job period. Your not going to make money as a delivery driver you got ‼️gas, wear an tear on your vehicle ‼️ I believe in you find something better than being lazy. As in just delivery of goods I promise you will feel better about yourself an you will have more money. The choice is yours but come on 😂 it’s not hard to make the right decision
when doing doordash, my brother in law and sister has to help me with driving cuz dont have my own car currently. We always getting more miles then money that is on it, and i have just 52% right now, so cuz of my situation i am unable to increase that percentage, besides trying to get my own car, is there anything i can do to increase that??? Wichita Falls Tx, not nearly that good busy as Dallas or Houston.
I would look for a remote job from home. Asking people to drive you around seems like a waste of time and money. Hope you get a car soon!
30 miles a gallon is wild
Get a hybrid bro, I get 40 to the gallon, bought a used hybrid for 14 grand, in 7 months put 35 thousand miles on it! I found used hybrids for 2grand and some for 4 grand!!! Youll save 100 dollars a week if you do this fulltime!!! Thats 400 a month!
Yeah my 2010 prius gets 50-55mpg one tank is 500-550 miles. Hell I profit off a 2 dollar order lmao.
yeah like anyone can just get a new car
I drive a 2018 Toyota Camry, and it gets 31 miles per gallon.
@@kileNoe Insane! LOL, but Id still not take 2 dollar orders though! But maybe they reward drivers for doing that? I dont know LOL
I’ve been fired from door dash. Apparently 50 minutes to complete an order doesn’t really mean 50 minutes.
Lol... 30+mpg.. I average 13.9-14.2mpg. 4x4. I make great money in the snow. Like 600+ a day during snow storms.
Ask me about the new hack to keep Platinum status and 100% acceptance rating.
I agree with every word
I can’t even get a schedule. I can only do dash now.
I dashed for the first time last night 4 hours made 103 shit breazy drive abt 100 miles
I can’t even get orders smh
I'm feeling you on gas. It's killing me right now 😩
In the end the law of averages should equal things out as far as a mix of low paying runs vs high.
That’s never been proven. The law of averages is just a myth people say to justify being too scared to unionize against predatory corporations.
I'm making money in Ohio with a rav 4 that I'm getting about 22 mpg
I only door dash, I pay my bills and have extra. I don't get 30 miles a gallon. Not everyone can get a new car just because. I don't do hourly wage I do pay per day. As long as I do that I'm good. And forget that gas and miles is a write-off. I'm platinum and I don't take every dash I'm offered. If its under a certain amount I skip it.
miles OR gas/expenses is a write off, you can't write off both.

@outoftheashes_ that's true in any job. Been from Mississippi, Maine, to Virginia, doing different work. I've seen better vechiles than mine towed in.
I would say definitely text the customer if there's an issue at the store or on your route or if you can't find the apartment. DD is done 😂
This dude funny 😂

Tip number one.. drop door dash!😂
Why
@@walmart-vz3lz They treat drivers like dirt, that's why. I was accused of late deliveries when they gave me wrong directions. Their signal strength is weak so that I would deliver in many areas and lose my signal so I had to drive down the street and mark an order complete when I picked up a signal again. I was again accused of late deliveries. They bumped me back to gold from platinum so I couldn't make any money. It's a really horrible company to work for. I'm done!
