"..Which is really cool because john Andretti just passed away...." That just sounded bad... LOL... I knew what you meant though.. ;) you referred it being cool to find something to remember him by, a memorial to him. I have a quick story about antique stores and models... this was back in 2007-08, I cam across a Mark Martin model stockcar they said was an antique. I knew right away the car scheme was only 6 years old (from 2001 racing season). I asked how old things had to be in order to be displayed and she said 10 years or older. I quickly bought the car model (cheap price) and told her it was not an antique! LOL :P Anyway.. you have an awesome video here! Thanks for bringing us along.

COMPLETE kit! After I priced it out, over $200 worth! Asking was $4.99, got seniors discount, paid $4.50 Canadian! Don’t think I’ll get another deal like that.

Our local Antique mall has had a guy put a nicely built Revell car carrier with a Globe Trotter truck and seven exotic sports cars as a load in his display at $75 for the whole lot. The cars were curbside and I wasn't interested in them or the Globetrotter so I so them and ended up with a Revell carrier for nothing. I have a thing for car carriers so when he put another one in his case for $75 dollars, I jumped on it. It was foreign car carrier with a Moebius International Truck and six Revell 3rd Gen Trans Ams painted different colors. I sold the Trans Ams and got the transporter and the International for free. I keep watching his case!

@@kevinkelley3906 Anything NASCAR is also cheap. I have seen models and diecast that are half the original cost. 1/64 stuff is also bottom dollar prices. Two causes...1) the saturation of the market with everything...even limited edition things come out later, same thing just no in a limited edition packaging. And 2) Nascar has destroyed the sport...older fans leaving the sport, and not very many new fans. NASCAR has for too long tried to aim the sport at the casual veiwer ot fan...who are never going to be really into the sport like it should. I don't care for it anymore...and I was an all in fan since about 12 years old. Went to 4 or 5 races a year, bought all kinds of collectables, watched every race on T.V. ( any level and even the trucks). But I have sold all my collectables and I do not buy any new stuff, I do not go to any races, and if I see a race on T.V. it is by being somewhere it is on. The sport will be dead in less than 10 years I believe.

Only thing is the body has a gloss finish, so the decals don't exactly like to stay on the body, so decal setting solution is recommended

I get most of my models off ebay for vintage kits. Once and only once I found three vintage kits at a pawn shop. Completely surprised. Two amt 3 in1 kits and an original issue amt 62 ford convertible. Kits were open unbuilt. 12.50 each for the black plastic 32 ford and 36 ford. 75 dollars for the amt 62 ford. All 1/25 scale. My best score at an antique mall was a 1965 issue 1/25 scale James Bond Aston Martin spy car open unbuilt for 45 dollars.

    Hey Matt,
Got a question for you. Do you buy detail master sparkplug wire ?
The reason why i ask is....
I ordered bulk wire from Amazon
in 8 colors. It just was delivered to my front door. I opened the package up not knowing what to expect. I was thinking the wire was gonna be too big and outta scale but it was right on the money ! Detail master wants close to
$5. for 1 color and enough to do maybe
    2 engines. For $6. I just bought
8 colors and each roll is enough to do ALOT of motors. If interested, I will give you product information.
    Take care,Howard.

I absolutely love the vintage Monogram models. I have purty much built all of them once or twice. That Mercedes is a great kit but not as awarding as far as a finish product as the others. Enjoy but look onto the others!

I've never seen the pro finish revell kits. I have a couple of the pro shop AMT kits that are also pre painted. Something we won't see again I am sure.

My brother was chief graphic designer at Revelle for 20 years! You should see our basement. I helped on all the muscle car boxes to ensure accuracy. As soon as he retired they started labeling them wrong. Now he does tattoo at Dinosaur in waukegan, il.

I just ran across your video. If you are ever in the area of Columbia, SC or just north (Fairfield County) then maybe we could work out a deal. I have over 100 kits (hot rods, muscle cars, and NASCAR). They are all 20 years old or older. Most are still sealed.

What a great find! I love shops like this. When I was visiting family in Colorado a couple of years ago I found a Monogram #28 Havoline T-Bird in 1/24 scale, still shrink wrapped. I paid $15 for it. They're not that common in the UK. Does your daughter share your passion for model cars too, or is she like mine and not at all interested?

Matt. I know you don't like to build Nascar kits. But most of the ones that you looked at are valuable. Me I would have snatched up that John Andretti, and Tony Stewart. Tony Stewart owns a team. All 3 of those kits that you purchased were a great buy. I would have walked out of their broke. LOL

I have had good success at antique shops too.
I'm surprised you didn't get those Revell Pro Finish kits. The lowest one as a collector is double the price here. You could have tripled your money with those its. lol
