Insane! this gentleman is a master of master modelers. I cannot image what he could do on a 1:16 big scale model. Thanks for sharing the video, a true inspiration for any modeler.
That is something else ! My hat off to this guy❤ , i just don’t have the time to detail like this , work 40 hrs week , grand kids , music in band , work on real cars ,,,,,,, but still fine time to do models . Wow this guy means business . Well done!
May as well build the car as a working model ,that starts and runs .Hahaha . Talk about a well thought out build .It would've took me 2 yrs. to build this details of this car .What a build . I don't think I have seen a model this good. Great work .Man O 'Man . I'm going to give up building just stock box cars . Lol.👍🇺🇸😎
OK, that does it. Hanging up my tools and retiring, lol. His book likely took more time to assemble than my kits do. Amazing work and great coverage by yourself!
I feel you @kencreppin2146 😂 I was at the bench watching this (working on a Pontiac btw 😅) and said well…that’s a new level…I’m done! Just playing, but definitely inspiring! 😎👍🏾
Okay, that looks like you can climb in and start it up!! An amazing build. These are the modelers that would have no problem building a 1:1 car. Simple amazing. Thank you for doing this video to share this with us, I would have never seen this build if you hadn't shared it.
Amazing builds by Bob!!! The only thing he didn't do is start it up. The details are beyond speech. What a talented builder. The book on the '64 is beyond belief. I own an actual 1:1 '64 Catalina 2 door hardtop and it doesn't have this much detail. Bob nailed it right down to the grooves on the pulleys not to mention the cup holders. His '61 is also unbelievable. I have such appreciation for builders like this. His pieces are well and above museum quality. Thanks Matt for sharing Bob's builds with us. Enjoy your weekend.
Been modleing since I was 9yr's young, I am 64 wow dude amazing work I won the 13 yr old division in 1972 Seattle Autorama with a 50 merc, I have done many things in my day but nothing as detailed as this shy of the frame off restoration of my 1970 challenger and thats not even close cant wait to see your next work of art , I love my 3D printer but the metal parts were an extra special gift to see.
Just wow. Amazing. Thanks for interviewing and then sharing. Seems like I heard hobbydude007 talking occasionally in the back ground but I could be mistaken. Anyways thanks again for sharing!
I am from the UK and love the slightly later American Muscle Cars but I have to say without any doubt the work you have put into this car is Outstanding. The craftsmanship is incredible. You have created a work of Art and should be very proud of it.
Does it start up and run? Wow! The late Bill Geary builds were detail oriented also roll up windows and all ! These fellas are up there with Gerald Wingrove and A4 garage ! Unbelievable patience and workmanship! I could see by the video coverage the quality of this guy’s work! Yikes! Heavens to murgatriod comes to mind!😳😎👀🫡🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
I recently bought a couple new kits today after not building for 10 years … I’m ready to bring them back to the store after watching this.. i thought the 10-20 hrs I put in a kit was some nice detail but nope .. wonderful work
Quando ti trovi di fronte a modellisti di questo livello ti rendi assolutamente subito conto che il limite tra realtà e riproduzione artistica è un limite sottilissimo che ti amate questo bellissimo hobby!!!
The English language has no words to describe... simply amazing is all I can say. Just when you think he's done all that a modeler can do to a kit, he starts explaining some other bit of realism he has put in the model. All his awards are well deserved!
Museum Quality piece. You are in the same league as another Master Builder..Mark Batson. Absolutely Beautiful. Thanks for sharing this one of a kind build
Having personally built the original kit, i can tell you there is very little of it left in this build. It was a vague starting point for this absolutely amazing replica! Beautiful work!
I’m in my mid 50’s and basically an intermediate level modeler at best but watching masters do their work is awe inspiring to me, these people are pure artists in my view. I can also imagine how many custom parts he had to toss if they didn’t turn out the way he preferred and had to start over, imagine how many hours he spent doing this.
That's pretty cool and way beyond my patience and ability. I can remember years following Mark Gustavson building a model out of sheet metal in SAE to get it as realistic as possible. I seem to recall he ran into problems and had to apologize to it's incompleteness, but it was still incredibly detailed and amazing to look at.
Being able to tinker at this level is every man’s dream. I build and work on big things for my job, but using tweezers, magnifying glass, small files… there’s something about it that is joyful, even just to think about.
This is brilliant! That "build book" is an awesome idea and it looks like something you would do when restoring a 1:1 car. The attention to detail is fantastic.
The level of detail in these models is humbling. They are better made than the original cars because the parts are individually constructed and not mass produced!
I'm always amazed at some of the models people build. Not many have the patience to put 700 hours into one build. I met a guy about 35 years ago named Don Farhni (not sure if I spelled it right). He was an amazing modeler and helped me a lot. If you just stop and talk with these guys, they are more than willing to help you along your way in learning. It is up to you how far you take it.
My goodness! I’m going to need a shovel to dig up my jaw after it fell THROUGH the floor seeing these Pontiacs! Great interview Matthew! I’m enjoying this series of up close interviews with the builders and builds! 10/10 great, content! 😎👍🏾
I'm just re-entering the world of car modeling after about a 55-60 year hiatus (I'm 71, BTW). In the '60's I built a number of model cars I used the top of our piano to display, as well as countertops in my bedroom. I built other models as well, airplanes mostly. I have no other word for this build but FLABBERGASTED! In my wildest dreams I had no idea anyone would ever take a build to this level. Hats off to this gentleman. No one could ever possibly top this! 🚗🏆
I've been building models since 5-6 years old but never on this scale, absolutely mind blowing, the book is very note worthy. Got me thinking now. Hats off to you Sir.
That's incredible... I've never in my life seen any kit with that much detail.. That not a model kit anymore.. With that much detail to every little piece , all I was waiting for was for him to turn it over and let it run... That's the most awesome , amazing and unbelievable build of a box kit model car I've ever seen...👍 Thanks for sharing this with us.. I appreciate your videos Brother , and I definitely appreciate this gentleman's work..
if i wasn't so big i would drive that around town and be the envy of everyone. i just can not get over how realistic and beautiful those models are. just perfectly beautiful. thanks for sharing.
This is just a brief list of options for the model…. It’s 5” thick..😂Lol… speechless… amazing… just two of many words that come to mind… one of the Goats 🐐!
My jaw is still on the floor. I have no words. Congrats to Bob for a very well deserved Best in show.
It's amazing!
i know i got dizzy in the head just trying to take it all in🤪
I’m with you bud, just amazing. My work is navel lint by comparison.
Those Hood hinges are absolutely crazy!! This guy is the van Gogh of models.
Lol!! Yep!
This different planet stuff, us mere mortals can only admire this type of modelling. Congratulations on your best in show Bob.
I agree!!

Same here

I have seen a model this good. Great work .Man
O 'Man . I'm going to give up building just stock box cars .
Lol.👍🇺🇸😎
I was crazy!!
I am a box kit builder and I am happy with that. Seeing Bob and other builders take a kit to that level of detail is truly amazing.
OK, that does it. Hanging up my tools and retiring, lol. His book likely took more time to assemble than my kits do. Amazing work and great coverage by yourself!

The trike with the skill on the set sir

Wow,wow & so wow,words escape me,lol
Amazing talent!!! The detail of that model is beyond next level stuff!!!

I was amazed Chris!!
I came back and watched this 3 times wow ,congrats to Bob outstanding congrats on Best of Show
I love it!!! Half way through the folder and he says “this is where it gets interesting!”😂! Superb!
Lol!!

I'm 49, been building kits my entire life, the details are mind-blowing, he is a craftsman. I looks like it should run and drive
Just wow. Amazing. Thanks for interviewing and then sharing. Seems like I heard hobbydude007 talking occasionally in the back ground but I could be mistaken. Anyways thanks again for sharing!
Yeah Mark was there.
Thank you for being this masterpiece so everyone can witness!
Phenomenal job on those two cars! This goes beyond "Museum Quality", these models are true works of art. A Swiss Watch isn't more precise! 😎👍
That is beautiful I have been building models for 40 years and never was able too master the art off details like yours those are masterpieces 👍
Amazing!
Love Pontiac’s
Holy-poop! That’s truly amazing!
Commitment, ingenuity, patience and steady hands... That car is awesome.
This guy is on another level brilliant and super fine attention to detail!
I agree!

And….. he does his own plating!!! Do the windows roll up and down? Just curious! WOW !!!!🤔
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

All I could say if I could speak again after watching this would be WOW!!!
Bob what skill !!!!
👍🏻👍🏻
Wow…I have to start traveling to some show’s..that is incredible.
You definitely should!!
Quando ti trovi di fronte a modellisti di questo livello ti rendi assolutamente subito conto che il limite tra realtà e riproduzione artistica è un limite sottilissimo che ti amate questo bellissimo hobby!!!
I mean really, what can you say about that. Total dedication to a build, simply stunning. Great that you got the opportunity to talk to him.
Man is a craftsman.
~that is totally awesome indeed~

Amazing, what an artist 🎨. This is one of the finest models that I've ever seen. Thanks for sharing this.
Having personally built the original kit, i can tell you there is very little of it left in this build. It was a vague starting point for this absolutely amazing replica! Beautiful work!
Wow !
Just WOW 😮
WOW!!!! Those are some amazing builds.
Holy cow just amazing work
That is just amazing! I had no idea how much goes into a build like that. Thanks for sharing this interview Matthew.
Gob-smacked! Only in my wildest dreams could I build a scale model with as much detail as either one of those!
Amazing!!!!! Thanks for sharing, that is just art. Man what an inspiration.
Stunning. Amazing craftsmanship.
Wonderful work on the car model! You are very talented! 34:36

What an inspiration! When Master Builders show me what can be accomplished it encourages me to push myself to take each build a step farther!
Definitely!
Wow 😮
Just... 😮
Amazing work. Amazing detail. Amazing patience and imagination to make it happen.
This is brilliant! That "build book" is an awesome idea and it looks like something you would do when restoring a 1:1 car. The attention to detail is fantastic.
Phenomenal! What perfection
Unreal had I not seen it myself.
Matt - NEW email Thank you This is a model so well detailed - you could get in and driver it away. Bet there is AIR in the tires too.
It was amazing!
Holy doppelganger batman!! I bet that thing would crank and run. I'm floored!!
EXCELLENT INTERVIEW!
Nice job!!
Bob is an awesome builder!! Big congrats on the well deserved Best of Show! I LOVE research, Bob has perfected it!
For sure!
Thank you Mark!
This is absolutely mind blowing! I have never seen that level of hand built detail before.
Awesome pontiacs !!
Wow!
*That Rochester 6 pack in that Pontiac engine bay really got my attention my friend~LQQks great :))*
Amazing work. The book sure helps show how much is within this build.
Absolutely!
Very nice.. wish I had that kinda time
So do I!
Phenomenal craftsmanship.
The level of detail in these models is humbling. They are better made than the original cars because the parts are individually constructed and not mass produced!
I was at GSL and this was my pick for best in show. It is a spectacular model.
Very cool!
Astounding, just astounding! The most amazing part of all this, to me, is that the model is worth more than what I paid for the real thing back in 64!
Absolutely stunning.
I'm always amazed at some of the models people build. Not many have the patience to put 700 hours into one build. I met a guy about 35 years ago named Don Farhni (not sure if I spelled it right). I have heard of Don-he is a veteran---
My goodness! I’m going to need a shovel to dig up my jaw after it fell THROUGH the floor seeing these Pontiacs!
Great interview Matthew! I’m enjoying this series of up close interviews with the builders and builds! 10/10 great, content! 😎👍🏾
I hear ya!!
WOW!,,,
Me too!!
Absolutely incredible!, I guess my question about how to top this build was answered with the build of the 66!
For sure!!
I'm Building a 66 now.
Wow very impressive detailing!!
Amazing build, absolutely gorgeous!!!
The build book for my entire life would not be that detailed.

Amazing work and detail.
I've been building models since 5-6 years old but never on this scale, absolutely mind blowing, the book is very note worthy. Got me thinking now. Hats off to you Sir.
Thanks!
Awesome great job
Seeing this discourages me from ever build another model again. Thank you
Lol! I don't set my goals this high so it doesn't discourage me.
Very special build
That's incredible... I've never in my life seen any kit with that much detail.. That not a model kit anymore.. With that much detail to every little piece , all I was waiting for was for him to turn it over and let it run... Super natural detail! I wonder if Bob has engineering experience?
You're a natural when it comes to interviewing.
Great video.
His builds are amazing! Thanks
That is amazing. I am both inspired and at the same time makes me feel like just giving up building scale models. WOW.
Met Bob and saw the car at GSL. This video truly opened my eyes to how fantastic a build it is. One of the best!
It is amazing!
HOLY COW, CAPT. OBVIOUS SAYS, " DETAIL IS AMAZING"!!
looks cool 👍
I bet he has a set of keys he machined out of brass and plated to go into the ignition it’s probably key cut too lol
I’m speechless, if you photographed it against the right background you’d never know it wasn’t real.
For real!!
if i wasn't so big i would drive that around town and be the envy of everyone. i just can not get over how realistic and beautiful those models are. just perfectly beautiful. thanks for sharing.
This is just a brief list of options for the model…. It’s 5” thick..😂Lol… speechless… amazing… just two of many words that come to mind… one of the Goats 🐐!
