  • I'm here still alive and kicking, I had my left knee replaced last week which ahs been set up for the past two months. I am doing better every day buy it's a long road ahead. I have been out of work going on three weeks, the week before my surgery my wife took me on a 6-day cruise for my 60th birthday.
I have started psychical therapy twice a week and it's really helping get me back walking.
My son and worker have been doing a great job running the business while I am home.
It will be a couple of weeks before I could drive and get to my shop to do some videos.

Just wanted to thank Mike for responding to an emergency email and actually called me to help. I was in the process of installing a new Rinnai RU199iN unit in my home, and when I tried to install the pressure relief valve with a proprietary Rinnai L adaptor it just would not cinch up tight. The problem was an O-ring that is shipped in side is covered by this blue tape and the O-ring stuck to the tape, and I threw the tape away not aware there was an O-ring needed. There is a plastic ring spacer on this brass fitting and I mistook it for something I needed to remove and broke it. Come to find out from Mike that both the plastic ring spacer and the O-ring are needed, and you cannot buy them separately. In fact you have to buy the entire valve kit that includes the Hot, Cold, and Pressure relief unit, just to get the piece I needed. Had to order from Supply House and pay overnight shipping. Nearly $200 mistake. Should receive tomorrow and hopefully have hot water again on that side of the house :)

Heyi Mike hang in there, it really does get better !!!
When you get back, soon I hope, I have a question ?
Does the tankless take away some of your pressure, we have good cold pressure everywhere, but the hot seems to be lacking a little ??
All I can assume is that it has to do with the heating process??
Talk soon stay strong/hang in there...

I've been having issues with my Rinnai and found your videos as I'm a DIY kind-a guy. Fantastic resource! Are you able to help me personally find parts? It's an old unit....legacy (like installed in 2006 and likely manufactured in '03) and parts-by-model isn't coming up with much. At this point but I know there are lots of common items in these that I might find useful. My plan is to get a new unit after my basement reno/underpinning, but I want to keep this unit running until after the work is completed. I likely need a waterflow servo value unit with the "turbine" or possibly just the sensor and turbine. I have a Rinnai v2520-ffu and wonder if a M8D1-10-4 Rinnai Flow Sensor would work...I couldn't get the damn turbine out of the housing after I removed the unit! Hope you are on the mend, knee pain isn't very fun. Cheers

    I hope you heel soon!
Thank you for all of your content. It’s help me dramatically.
I’m about to replace my older Rinnai 2532 and I noticed I can’t find a lot comparing non-condensing units.
I think for me, the ease of installation and not having to install a condensing drain line I was checking out the REP199in and RE199in as they appear the best non-condensing models from Rinnai?
I noticed the REP has a 7.8 gpm and RE 9.8 gpm.
I enjoyed your Delta T explanation and so I know there’s more to the real world story.
We have a 4 shower head, 1 kitchen sink setup and we often use 3 showers at once.
Any thoughts on which model I should go with?
Is there a way to financially support you / your channel?
    Thanks!
    Get well soon.

    Get better!
    Just one question for now...
    Are you still recommending Rinnai?
I ask because I am getting ready to do a tankless, but have not bought it yet.
Rinnai recommended the RSC160eP unit for me.
Any advice on accessories for it?
Thanks in advance and get better!

Been watching you a while and I did my own propane tankless water heater last year and it's failing. We are on a well with a softener which I originally thought was the problem. The brass pipe coming out of the heater is blue at every joint, but nothing leaking until tonight when it finally started leaking through the blue corrosion. Is there something common causing this? I'll pay for help, just don't think a local guy would have experience with this type of tankless issue. I just need some help on this one. I've already replaced fittings once thinking it was just from a leak. All blue again. I'm defeated.
