YES! thank you... I hate fuckin misleading titles as well... Her hair would die and fall off if she actually didnt wash it for 5 years... i can guarantee it. Hair is part of our body its not there just cause... x D in best case scenario it would look like a fuckin pudding...
It's what we eat and how we live that makes our bodies have smells. If we eat mostly natural healthy foods and drink lots of water, we shouldn't smell bad at all.
You are so right! I have some products and I can't get enough of how amazing it smells. Everywhere I go people are like "omg you smell heavenly!" Pretty awesome lol
Tropical Coils You can mix it with baking soda and make a runny paste to rub in your hair to cleanse or use it diluted with water as a rinse after using your own cleansing product. And I'm talking about the amber medicinal Listerine not the minty fresh one. Unless that's your preference...
Im sorry but these extreme naturalist are to much YOU ALL DO REALIZE THERE ARE FANTASTIC NATRUAL CLEANSERS AND CONDITIONERS FOR THE SKIN AND HAIR LOL WOW I JUST CAN'T DEAL WITH SINCE THERE ARE GREAT NATRUAL ALTERNATIVES
marykacyy yes there absolutely are more natural products to switch out in our daily process, whether it be makeup, shampoo, cleansers, clothing. But unfortunately due to the lack of in depth knowledge and findings on how chemicals truly affect us. Going the more "natural" route is more expensive then just using water and baking sofa. Or using vinegar and water as a home cleanser. These may seem drastic to many but when you really look into the affects of the chemicals we are in contact with daily and the cost of being more environmentally friendly when purchasing healthier options it may be overly costly for a family of 5+ when using more simple everyday products work almost as effectively and are a lot more cost efficient for many households.
Stephanie _ I used to think so myself that I cant afford something safe and get my family of 5 through the month. I found some products on amazon and did more research on sites like ewg.org. I found a soap thats non toxic cheap and can be used for handsoap to cleaning floors. The best part is my sons bloody noses (I thought was from allergies due season) stopped completely. There are cheaper and safer products out there that work well but it does take time to research.
Surrey Bohemian I got a scalp analysis at Aveda 4 years ago. I saw mine and my friends scalp. I had flakes not dandruff because I wasn’t conditioning my scalp. It was a little irritated. You might be able to find a scalp analysis on RUclips. Type in scalp analysis or hair detox.
Linda Carrillo it doesn't stay strong smelling when you rinse it out =) I do use acv for a lot of other things too =) I do find the want to use shampoo again, so I do and I pay the price of migraines.
+TheMarker2015 L.S. She still has blonde hair. The vast majority of blondes over the age of 14 bleach their hair. Does that make them not blonde to you?
@@drowization... smelt is the past tense of smell in the English language. The American version is smelled. The person who said smelt was speaking the Queen's English. I bet she is either from the Caribbean or England
The male dr clearly stated in the opening that she hadn't washed her hair with SHAMPOO for 5 years but the rest of the hosts reacted like she did not wash her hair AT ALL for that long! 😑😐😒
Yvonne Hullo Baking soda acts like soap. Try washing your hair with it and you'll see. The reason I don't use baking soda anymore is because it upsets the ph of your scalp and is very hard to rinse out completely which can cause dandruff and itching. Also, baking soda is very abrasive to your hair shaft. There are other ways to clean your hair without chemicals that are better for your scalp health.
I Really Thought She Didn't Wash Her Hair At All And That We Were Gonna See This Lady With Nasty Dirty Smelly Hair She Just Doesn't Use Shampoo Anymore Click bait Is Really Annoying!!!!
They did.. I could tell she was upset a little.. The lady just walked over there and smelled her hair.. She was being cut off everytime she spoke.. I didn't like the whole situation..i would of been aggravated
I've stopped using shampoo 6 months ago & just rinse really well & use conditioner. my hair has lost all frizz, it's thicker, stronger, bouncier, & shinier. it's awesome
Thank you. I might give it a try. I am psychologicly attached to my shampoo. Lol! :) If I don't wash with shampoo I don't feel clean. Have you noticed a big difference with your hair?
Mae Michelle I’ve gone almost two moths without shampooing and only used cleansing conditioner on my hair to clean my hair and it really does look a lot better
WOW people really are out of touch She said I do not use shampoo. The panel and the doctor thought she did not wash it with water. man Is this a lame show.
I am sure the doctors knew; but remember it is a show and they already have all the information before coming in front of audience. All about the ratings.
Vedder Palmer At least Dr. Stork is. He was an ER Doctor in Nashville, Tennessee over ten years ago when he was picked to star as "The Bachelor". That most likely lead to him being a part of this show.
at least the doctor who was looking at her hair with the microscope and the guy said it smelled natural!! that must of been really embarrassing when she said it smelled bad.
At the end they said thank you for being so brave LOL they're treating Her Like She's Some nasty freak of nature that had the courage to show her face on TV.
Where I live it is quite common not to use Shampoo and just use water or other no-poo alternatives. It doesn't smell like it "hasn't been washed" but more like nothing at all. Like smelling on a piece of skin on e.g. your arm. It also depends on the food you're consuming.
Have you tried using warm-hot (not boiling hot, just on the hotter side of warm) water to water-wash your hair and slide the oil down to condition your hair? There was a point when my hair started getting really oily and I had to wash it more frequently. I did this and my hair was fine so I went back to water washing/co-washing/mud washing once a week (or water washing more frequently, if needed) and shampoo washing once a month. Oh! And the mud wash is good for minimising oiliness. If you're in the States, look for the lavender Terressentials mud wash (if you're in the UK, like I am, don't bother unless you're willing to pay a lot in duty/import charges). A cheaper option is to buy bentonite, rhassoul or amla powder, mix it with a bit of water to form a light paste/mud (and add essential oils if you want a scent/a bit of conditioner) and work that into your hair then leave it on for like 5mins (no need to cover your hair) before rinsing it out. This leaves my hair shiny and soft (and my curls look amazing), but not oily.
Back in the 1950, at least in Ireland, maybe not America, people used to wash their hair only every once in a while. You would buy shampoo in a sachet from the chemist every now an then. Bottles of shampoo didn't exist.
Agatha Christie implied that the British had smelly hair back in the 1950s. She put a Spanish character in one of her novels (Poirot's Christmas, if I remember correctly) and had her thinking that the British have smelly hair.
shampoo wasn't invented, in this nowadays form, till like the late 1800's to the early 1900's. so really it's only been going on for like 150 years or so.
icecoldjustice1991 Its not disgusting. Its natural. If you want to use man made chemicals then fine... but people who want to lower the risk of all these diseases floating around are not disgusting.
Eccentric Dreams Yes, I’m sure that’s what she meant. Like not putting harmful, polluting substances on your body. I mean, lye and coconut oil are both natural chemicals. But you wouldn’t want to put lye on your skin!😬
eww. ok. I stopped washing my hair with conventional shampoo for six months because I had SOOOO much hair fall I was afraid of going bald!! three months in to my no poo method of baking soda water and apple cider vinegar hair rinses, my hair was doing AMAZING, it was full and thick... then I decided I should at least finish off all the shampoo I do have and washed my hair with regular shampoo...all my hair started falling out. after washing my hair with baking soda and having very little hair fall out, I washed my hair and had gobs of hair in my hands. i stopped using shampoos from Wal-Mart, Walgreens, even the high-end beauty salons. now I only use Calia Natural shampoos and my hair LOVES IT. And I love my hair
I don't think so, we as an audience certainly want to know what it smells like, that's one of the main concerns people don't want to wash their hair without shampoo. She obviously expected people were going to smell her hair *it's the topic* and she accepted.
Aeolin Ice - As an audience you shouldn't take other peoples word for it. If you want to know what it smells like then smell it in person when appropriate. That lady didn't have to smell it in the middle of the show. It's funny to me how you said the audience wants to know how it smells like and letting another human smell it will make them smell it too. Everyone is different and those kinds of things are subjective.
+SB Real, Idk, I think it was good to have at least someone smell her hair and have an opinion. (We got two opinions about it.) It's not really needing to know exactly how her hair smells to us specifically, but having at least one opinion gives you the general idea of how it probably comes across. If I was the girl with that hair, I wouldn't have minded it and probably would've expected that someone would probably want to smell my hair on camera and share their opinion of it. The topic was about the condition of her scalp and how clean her hair was, people are going to be curious, it helps to know how her hair probably smells like to people that's not part of her family or friend network.
An Elephant As far as actual cleanliness, not really. The dermatologist in the video who looked at her scalp under the microscope proved this. If you look at the labels carefully, even conditioners have a lot of the same detergent ingredients that make your hair 'clean', hence the rapidly growing market of conditioning cleansers like Wen that acheive the same cleanliness without the harmful sulfates that strip our hair of the natural protective oils, thus drying it out and making your body's oil production overcompensate.
An Elephant Everyone's hair is different, dear. Don't speak for me or anyone else for that matter. Sure, maybe YOU can personally see a difference in your hair, but I'm sure yours is the only head you wash. And, if you 'dont't care' so much, maybe try not being so contrary like you know everything about the topic. M'Kay? :) Muting your responses now, because I'm absolutely sure any rebuttal you could possibly offer will sound foolish.
For her, shampoo makes her hair frizzy and contain dandruff. So, yes, you did lose brain cells watching this, because you forgot nobody's hair is the same.
+Ariella Damsie That was exactly my point. Did you not read ANY of my previous comments in this thread before showing your lack of comprehension skills?
Agreed, but how did it nor occur to her that people would sniff? It’s the larger part of why people shampoo as much as they do. My happy medium is very dilute shampoo, alternating days, one deep clean a month. Fairly natural formulas.
nunnya bidness depending on ones hair TYPE washing daily is NOT ok for THEIR hair. Going two days to a week is NOT bad. Id say your hair must be DRY as straw but ewww Im not IGNORANT like YOU ;-)
My grandmother was 3/4 Cherokee Indian she never used shampoo for her hair. Never cut it. It was down to her feet but not really think as she got older kept it in a bun. Never used a hairbrush used her fingers or a very thin tiny comb. She had all kinds of barrels around that house that caught the rain. She used only that to wash her hair in. She had beautiful clean hair. Loved watching her comb it at night. And she never ever shaved her leg or armpits never had to! I took after other side of family shave often! RIP in Grandma Bingham
I didn't wash my hair with shampoo for 40 years. With shampoo my hair went back and forward between dry and greasy. I don't use a hair dryer either. I just use Marseille soap to wash my hair, no chemicals and no perfume. I started to use medical soap as well for my body, because I started to get inflamed pimples all over my body. Very often they bacame seriously infected with puss. Cosmetic products destroy the natural chemical balance of your skin, and may harm your health.
Because my hair is naturally dry I decided to try this trend of shampooing less. I would only wash my hair once a week, and with a sulfate-free Shampoo (L'oréal) . I did this for a couple years. At first my hair looked awesome! It was smoother, and was easier to straighten, and shiny. I had Kate Middleton hair! But after a couple years of beautiful hair, my hair started falling out, to the point where I was scared to brush it (so I rarely did) I then read that not washing your hair at least every couple days (for people with fine hair like mine) can cause the pores in the scalp to clog up, make the hair dull and weak and break easily (which causes hair loss). So I started shampooing more often, forced myself to brush more often, and switched shampoos to a Shampoo with sulfate( I no longer trust sulfate-free shampoos). My hair is growing out thicker and faster now. So choose what's best for YOUR hair! Don't give in to trends.
That's complete bullshit... there's no fucking way your hair loss was linked in any way, shape, or form to the fact that you only washed it once a week. Or obviously the girl in this video would be fucking bald. And clogged pores on your scalp could have been easily remedied by rinsing it with a cup or two of all natural apple cider vinegar (and then water) once a week (it also makes your hair super shiny and prevents/gets rid of dandruff). And its certainly not a 'trend' to the thousands or millions of people who realize hundreds of years ago people got by just fine without slathering themselves with cancer-causing chemicals every single day and would rather not be a human guinea pig to the literally HUNDREDS of new chemicals that are introduced to the global market every single day with literally not one iota of saftey testing...do some research.
I have thick full hair and haven't used shampoo in a very long time. Both my and my other half have long hair and we have no problem with hair loss. We only use warm water not even vinegar, baking soda or any other product.
Kay2be2mr i agree with u. i have thin fine hair too. i workout n get sweaty. n the sweat clogs out the pores tremendously resulting in huge chunks of hair fall out if i dont shampoo. i donno if rinsin with just cold water will do it. something i will try .
Are you sure that it wasn't something else causing the hair loss? In my case I had a severe vitmain d deficiency that was causing my hair to come out in clumps. Once I started taking a multivitamin and vitamin d it stopped and my hair has been doing great, even with me not using shampoo/conditioner anymore and just using acv rinse.
I wanted to see the scalp of the chemical users as well. BTW too many women I see are going BALD from going to the hairdressers and having all the dyes and blow drys. Bit freaky really!!!!
I started losing hair from over washing and styling. It was scary. My hair was so try it would literally just break off. I was my hair every week and a half with deep conditioner. I air dry and use my straightener once it's dry just that once. No hair spray nothing. I do have my hair bleached at the hair dresser but only 2x a year. My hair has gotten Soo much better because of it
I just use organically derived Castille soap for my hair, face, and body, then use a diluted apple cider vinegar rinse, following up with coconut oil as a lotion, deodorant, and conditioner.
Because of being really sick from colon cancer and Crohn's disease (which included having an ileostomy bag 4 separate times) I wasn't able to shower often, as I wasn't allowed to get my wounds or dressings wet, and I was so grossed out by it. BUT, after a few years of showering only once or twice a week (I did use deodorant and wash what I was able to every day, using only water on my scalp as I've lost most of my hair), I noticed that I didn't stink, and all my blemishes vanished on their own. It was really weird, and now that I can sower daily, I've also stopped using products with a ton a chemicals, preferring only very basic things like baking soda. I have no issues at all, with BO, and my skin is actually in better shape then it was when I used all those products on the market, so I think there is some real benefit to what is said in this clip. I know you're probably all cringing, but honestly, the human body is a remarkable thing, and is able, with just basic hygiene, to get along just fine without all the soaps and shampoos on the market.
Her hair is perfection! The No Poo is the best! It takes a good 3 months before your hair balances out and it just looks like this girls, perfect. Water ONLY!
Shampoo strips your hair of everything. I had been using shampoo my whole life and my hair over produced oils because of it. I have stopped using shampoo and my hair is no longer oily. Also my scalp becomes extremely itchy with shampoo. Now my scalp is only itchy if it is so hot it sweats. These problems occurred with many types of shampoo and with different washing regimes. I agree the use of the word chemicals is silly but for me the stoppage of the use of shampoo, letting my scalp do the work it was designed to, was the only way I got any relief from my hair problems. Added bonus; if you dye your hair the colour stays fresher longer because there isnt shampoo trying to strip your hair of that also.
No, it wouldn't, if you read it a bit closer you will see my point wasn't to be chemical free. Shampoo effects the pH balance of my scalp> causing all these symptoms> it wasn't until I stopped using shampoo that I got relief from those symptoms. The dying of the hair thing was just a bonus if one were to dye their hair> I'll admit I havent in a while> but to reset the scalps ph balance after dying hair [if needed] wouldnt be a big deal> just wait a day or two. But to be "chemical free"> Don't have the money for that to be on my radar :P
You need to find your own mixture amount of baking soda [1-2Tbl sp to 1/4 cup] with water [I used an old soda bottle- not filled usually, depends on how coarse I want the mixture- for somewhat regular use I would use a lighter mixture, closer to the 1-2 tblspoon size] and [separately only like once a week, vinegar to water 1/4 cup to a separate soda bottle, ghetto I know.] Rinse well..
Crackpots, yeah no one had shampoo 500 years ago and they smelled nasty and died young. Not saying shampoo equals longevity but it's part of modern science that does.
Everything is made up of chemicals... baking soda is made from chemicals, water is chemical H2O... but anyway I use to over wash my hair and I would always have dead ends if I tried growing out my hair so now I only shampoo once every 10 days or so and my hair has been growing better since doing so. Also taking biotin is great for your hair and nails, also make Prenadal for women is good to use for fair and nails because of the folic acid. Wish I had known earlier in life.
Gosh, she could make her own shampoo and conditioner that's all natural. I make all my own soap and beauty products for a few years. The one main chemical I ever use is lye when making homemade luxury soaps and shampoo, which the lye dissipates within 48 hours of mixing in with the oils and Shea butter. I make a full Himalayan salt bar as well. One of my favorites is a coffee emulsified scrub made with Castile soap, jojoba oil and beeswax. I'm allergic to many man made products, so I make my own and love it. Baking soda is not enough to wash hair in my opinion. I like clean hair.
***** no i have never taken a fuckin chemistry class but thx for the 101. Ever taken a fuckin social media anger management class? Relax troll its not that deep lol
***** ur an ass if ur really taking this video to heart. The only idiot here is you. We are all big boys and girls, we can believe what we want. The method works for me and i love it. If its not for u then dont do it that simple. Theres bigger world issues with idiots to worry about than some freakin shampoo
My hair has always been so greasy all growing up, to the point where I had to wash my hair twice a day. 6 months ago I stopped using shampoo and I now use an all natural cleansing conditioner and my hair is amazing. I only have to wash it 2-3 times a week and I can go about a week before I get too greasy for my taste. My hair has body, it's super shiny, and the oils I use make it smell amazing. Shampoo is SO bad for your hair.
When my hair grew back after my year of chemo, it seemed to have no oil. None. I rinse my hair in water about every 3rd day but very rarely shampoo. And no one can tell. I purchased some moroccan oil and even after applying it to my hair, it seems to have no oil. It is so dry it sucks it up like water. Everyone is different and for this to be a big deal is typical of social media. Making a mountain out of a mole hill.
More like only 70+ years ago thru didn't have shampoo. my grandma tells me all the time back in the 30's and 40's they used vinegar and even rinsed with beer at times. Have you seen how gorgeous those women were in the 40's? Shampoo strips your scalp of it's natural oils. The 1st week you stop washing your hair as often it will be greasy, but that is only because your scalp has had to make extra oils to replace what you keep stripping away with chemicals you don't need. after the 1st week your scalp won't secrete as much oils and it will go back to normal. Coconut oil, vinegar work wonders on your hair.
The movement is called "No poo" (no shampoo) look for it on youtube. I don't use shampoo on my hair. I use vinegar and mouthwash in a spray bottle. My hair is doing great, it's soft and curly and the natural oils moisturize the hair. After washing my hair smells a bit like wet wool, once dried the smell disappears. I used to put so much product to moisturize my hair after shampooing 'cause it would be so dry. The funny thing is, now my hair looks like I put a bunch of products to achieve this silken look.
Shampoo and cleaning can be good or bad... it depends WHAT are we putting on us. Natural is ONLY good when we use the right things. Just because it's natural, doesn't mean it's good.... just because it's manmade, doesn't make it bad or good. WHAT is it being put on us and used
You can buy natural goat milk soap with no chemicals at all. I buy mine on Etsy from several different sellers. There are shampoo soaps that are in bars that I have used also.
Pennee101 chemicals are all around us: in the air we breathe, the ground we walk on, our bodies produce chemicals themselves. My point is, do your research before falling into the "organic, chemical free, natural" lifestyle. They're preying on people's lack of knowledge about this kind of stuff.
I tried to go a few days without washing my hair and I felt disgusting! After the third day it looked like I dunked my head in a tub of grease, and my scalp was so itchy.
Honestly, I've never had my hair smell, unless I've been around cigarette smoke or wood smoke. Otherwise, my hair will get greasy if I don't wash it every other day, but not smelly.
If you wanted to do this yes your hair would continue to be greasy everyday AT FIRST. But then it would adjust. That is how my hair was but I wash and condition thoroughly every 5 days and use dry hair shampoo in between. I know that is a lot of chemicals but that isn't why I don't wash my hair everyday. My hair is just limp, fine and thin so I have to go without washing it to
All she is doing is water washing using her own natural sebum. Then ever so often washing with baking soda. There's nothing wrong with what's she doing. It's actually quit healthy.
CutestHeidi me too, a bit more frequently in the summer though. There's no need to constantly wash your hair and it's really good for it to let your scalp get oily
We did not have "dermatologists" 500 years ago either. I had to STOP going to yoga class because everyone had so many chemicals on them from toxic perfumes, colognes, hair products, laundry soap. When people started to get sweaty ... I could not do deep breathing particularly when someone was wearing perfume or cologne. very toxic.
I only cowash my hair now. I use a light conditioner (cleansing conditioner) and a moisturizing conditioner. Then I add coconut oil on damp hair and then a very thick leave in conditioner.
I've been making my own shampoo for 6 months. my hair is extremely soft and healthy. plus I suffer from alopecia. I also suffered from dandruff. I wash my hair 1 or 2 times a month. I'm African American woman so i don't usually wash our hair every day . I ran out of shampoo a month ago and used store bought stuff. terrible mistake. it set me back. my hair was brittle ND started breaking off immediately. moral of the story. we should start using natural stuff a lot more. our body's will love us.
I used to go a week without washing my hair but now that I've cut it short I wash it almost everyday cuz when I wake up my hair is super greasy like I haven't washed it in weeks.
My hair goes to my mid thigh and I wash it once a week, I do put essential oils on about 2 times a week too just to soften up the ends. When my hair was shorter I had to wash it everyday, interesting how it works.
Anna O3 your scalp is over producing sebum and natural oils because you dry your hair out every time you wash it and get rid of the natural oils in your scalp. If you don't wash your hair very often it will allow your scalp to produce normal amount of sebum instead of over producing to compinsate for you shampooing everyday.
Alexis Carlin Yea I figured that out eventually. But my jobs policy is to look neat and hair and nails clean. The way my hair gets it looks disgusting, so unfortunately I do wash it daily. But what I think I might try is just scrubbing my scalp with water not necessarily us shampoo everyday, see if that helps. Also I get dandruff occasionally lol I can never win!
They were so rude tbh... it’s annoying. Why is that blonde lady even talking, that’s not her natural hair. She looks like she hated her real hair all her life.
Hilary Benoit There's dozen of REAL natural products, free of SLS that you can find online or in Amazon, same prices or cheaper than Lush. Bath bombs, soaps, shampoo, etc.
She washed her hair, she just didn't use shampoo. Misleading title
Yeah
Lakia Keely you can wash your body with baking soda and an essential oil such as lavender and not have an odor.
Lakia Keely baking soda is natural. Not chemicals
Lakia Keely Baking soda is one ingredient, Sodium Bicarbonate and is naturally occurring.
Your name is Purple Puppy. Puppies aren't purple. Misleading name.
misleading title. she still wash it. she just stop using shampoo
akira nishima Just another clickbait method.
U no no how to speak englizzzzz
diuuh there's soo many things you can put on your hair for conditioner why the hell would you use urine? 😯
Correct title should be: Girl has not shampooed her hair for 5 years!
Right? She still washes it. #clickbait
Ikr! A lot of people don't use shampoos. Some people co-wash, some use mud, some use the water method etc.
rurusiddi I co wash sometimes
I just started using cleansing conditioner not too long ago. It's better for your hair than shampoo and it keeps my head clean.
YES! thank you... I hate fuckin misleading titles as well... Her hair would die and fall off if she actually didnt wash it for 5 years... i can guarantee it.
Hair is part of our body its not there just cause... x D in best case scenario it would look like a fuckin pudding...
We survived thousands of year without shampoo and people nowadays talking crap about shampoo and soap like it's a requirements to survive.
Christian Djami this is why I'm not social with people cause they always talk like it's live or dead
Christian Djami it's gross and unhealthy. Shut your shithole
Of course she's fat and liberal
Christian Djami and we smelled like shit and BO and battled lice and crabs... point?
Goody for her.
I think we get so used to smelling different creams, shampoo's and deodorant that the bodies natural scent seems to be a weird smell to many people.
jojorobino5312 *IKR*
Maybe but back in the day people still rinsed themselves from body odor and they still used something to cover the odor.
I totally agree
Right? 😂
It's what we eat and how we live that makes our bodies have smells. If we eat mostly natural healthy foods and drink lots of water, we shouldn't smell bad at all.
Co-wash here, and Jamaican black castor oil with Cantu products. Cantu smells like coconut WITH pineapple! I'm a human pina colada.
And get yourself a big bottle of Listerine. That'll get rid of any odor and is a better astringent than vinegar.
You are so right! I have some products and I can't get enough of how amazing it smells. Everywhere I go people are like "omg you smell heavenly!" Pretty awesome lol
lionharehart How do u use the Listerine?
Tropical Coils
You can mix it with baking soda and make a runny paste to rub in your hair to cleanse or use it diluted with water as a rinse after using your own cleansing product. And I'm talking about the amber medicinal Listerine not the minty fresh one. Unless that's your preference...
Thanks, I've heard people use Sea Breeze for hair as well.
You go, girl! That would have been embarrassing, honestly. So glad that dermatologist was nice.
The dermatologist actually knew what she was talking about--guess that makes a difference. ;)

so TECHNICALY she is washing her hair,.she just isn't using traditional shampoo and conditioner
Luna yeah pretty much
Haha
I wish they showed a microscope version of someones scalp which is washed with tons of chemicals to show a good comparison

I've stopped using shampoo too! I use baking soda and apple cider vinegar and coconut oil. I'm not getting migraines from the scents anymore.

Linda Carrillo it doesn't stay strong smelling when you rinse it out =) I do use acv for a lot of other things too =) I do find the want to use shampoo again, so I do and I pay the price of migraines.
Chox TheMuse ohhh OK why do you have migraines??? Is it bad for your health
Linda Carrillo sometimes the perfume is too strong in the shampoo and conditioner =) I have been feeling better since trying different things =)
the scents are too strong for my nose. I end up sneezing for 20 min on end if I used shampoo.
lol The women with the blonde hair was kind of rude when she smelt her hair🙄 But her hair is still amazing looking to me without shampoo
Kashanti Dawson u triggered??
She doesn't have blond hair, it's dye.
+TheMarker2015 L.S. She still has blonde hair. The vast majority of blondes over the age of 14 bleach their hair. Does that make them not blonde to you?

NAWLEJisPOWR right
She is obviously talking about man-made unnatural chemicals...are you 4 real?
sherocks54 >>>and what shampoos are those? ???
... you don't think chopping down planting and ripping up other herbs is cruel?
The male dr clearly stated in the opening that she hadn't washed her hair with SHAMPOO for 5 years but the rest of the hosts reacted like she did not wash her hair AT ALL for that long! 😑😐😒
Well technically she hasn’t...she basically just wets her hair
No.

False advertisement... she has washed her hair, just not with Shampoo products
I was going to say the exact same thing! This is clickbait. How annoying. I don't even like this show and I'm mad I clicked on this. LOL
I Really Thought She Didn't Wash Her Hair At All And That We Were Gonna See This Lady With Nasty Dirty Smelly Hair She Just Doesn't Use Shampoo Anymore Click bait Is Really Annoying!!!!
Makes me feel better about only washing my hair once a week...
I only wash mine every week and a half. And my hair has never been healthier.
I wash my hair every 6 or 8 months

This is silly, she has washed her hair, she just didn't use commercial shampoo.
click bait at its finest
You saved me from watching the video lol
Yea they basically lied when uploaded this video...thanks!
lestrange Exactly!
lestrange exact same thing I was thinking she's still washed her hair just not with shampoo x
they talked over her so much, it seemed like they didn't take her seriously
how can they take a disgusting smelly woman seriously????
They did.. I could tell she was upset a little.. The lady just walked over there and smelled her hair.. She was being cut off everytime she spoke.. I didn't like the whole situation..i would of been aggravated
That's because they're *doctors* and know everything.
doctors are faaar very faar away from knowing everything.
KaleidoscopeEffect Indeed they are, but everyone praises them like they do know everything.
I've stopped using shampoo 6 months ago & just rinse really well & use conditioner. my hair has lost all frizz, it's thicker, stronger, bouncier, & shinier. it's awesome
I might try this myself.
Do you only rinse with water or vinegar?
Then condition as normal?
My hair is drying out from the shampoo. Thank you.
ZJ ZJ Just water, I've actually never used vinegar in my hair, I hate the smell too much to experiment with it.
Thank you. I might give it a try. I am psychologicly attached to my shampoo. Lol! :) If I don't wash with shampoo I don't feel clean.
Have you noticed a big difference with your hair?
Mae Michelle I'm going to try that next month
Mae Michelle I’ve gone almost two moths without shampooing and only used cleansing conditioner on my hair to clean my hair and it really does look a lot better
how rude of that lady to smell her hair.
AN HE u triggered??
AN HE she was curious AND she asked. The dermatologist was curious and examining the scalp. not rude. for science
Puckles100 they're talking about the women at the start of the video
AN HE I
How tho?
WOW people really are out of touch She said I do not use shampoo. The panel and the doctor thought she did not wash it with water. man Is this a lame show.
I am sure the doctors knew; but remember it is a show and they already have all the information before coming in front of audience. All about the ratings.
1:08 She herself said she wrote "I didn't wash y hair for 3 years", so she is really the one who is miscommunicating.
Armando Sanchez the woman agreed if it was ok idiot
I do not believe they are doctors.
Vedder Palmer
Vedder Palmer At least Dr. Stork is. He was an ER Doctor in Nashville, Tennessee over ten years ago when he was picked to star as "The Bachelor". That most likely lead to him being a part of this show.
they are. one is a plastic surgeon, another is a gyno, etc.

wow how rude of that so called DR to sniff her hair and say it did smell

Audra Hollis well she was honest at least...
We had to know!
at least the doctor who was looking at her hair with the microscope and the guy said it smelled natural!! that must of been really embarrassing when she said it smelled bad.
She said it smelled like sebum.
poor gal. those women seemed kinda mean a out it. but you go girl!
Like smelling on a piece of skin on e.g. your arm. It also depends on the food you're consuming.
where are you from?
I have curly thick hair so I really only wash it once a month or so
Wow! My scalp won't let me. I have to wash at most every 2 weeks, preferably weekly otherwise my scalp riots. Lucky you.
J Q same!
madison young maybe try dry shampoo or just use baby powder?
madison young I have the same dang problem and if I don't wash it's so nasty
That's interesting!!
I think the key words are "harmful chemicals."
Mel Dempsey the ones countless people use daily with no issues lmao
She washes her hair, she just does it with natural stuff.
I did the baking soda and vinegar thing for a couple of months. My hair got “crunchy” and dull. Sorry, I love my Nuetrogena Cream Shampoo.
So it's not that she didn't wash her hair for 5 years, she just haven't used actual shampoo for 5 years
My friend doesn't wash her hair and it smells good and it's never oily
alice laing exactly my hairs like that to and people say my hair smells like babies
If i don't wash my hair with something that lathers, i look like i used crisco as a styling product
Right after that lady smelled her hair, the girl looked so embarrassed and about to cry.
Kady laplount She looked like she regretted her decision to come on the show when she sat on the table.
icecoldjustice1991 Its not disgusting. Its natural. If you want to use man made chemicals then fine... but people who want to lower the risk of all these diseases floating around are not disgusting.
I think she meant synthetic chemicals.
Eccentric Dreams
Yes, I’m sure that’s what she meant. Like not putting harmful, polluting substances on your body. I mean, lye and coconut oil are both natural chemicals. But you wouldn’t want to put lye on your skin!😬
Lye is used to produce soap, so...
eww.
Susan Clenin interesting. Thanks for the comment

I'd stick to the baking soda and apple cider vinegar!!!
Think of all the money you will save!!
Where can you get it?
Seemed a tad rude for the host to smell her hair just so she could tell her buddies what the ladies hair actually smelled like!
(We got two opinions about it.)
It's not really needing to know exactly how her hair smells to us specifically, but having at least one opinion gives you the general idea of how it probably comes across.
Tina Beana thank you for some intelligence on this comment! 👏🏽
Kriss L. Yeah she seemed like a bitchy highschooler
If I don't wash my hair, my head itches.
***** I do after I use after the hot water. But it will still itch after a day.
Same. If I don't for 3-5 days.
Same after washing and 1-2 days later my hair itches c r a z y and is screaming *wASH ME*
She didn't say she didn't wash it, she said she didn't use shampoo.
You probably just have head lice. 😂😂
...So, basically she DOES wash her hair regularly... just not with shampoo. This is so incredibly stupid, I think I lost brain cells watching this.
An Elephant
As far as actual cleanliness, not really.
An Elephant
Everyone's hair is different, dear. Don't speak for me or anyone else for that matter. Sure, maybe YOU can personally see a difference in your hair, but I'm sure yours is the only head you wash.
And, if you 'dont't care' so much, maybe try not being so contrary like you know everything about the topic. M'Kay? :)
Muting your responses now, because I'm absolutely sure any rebuttal you could possibly offer will sound foolish.
Nappy Bunny lol
I'd feel super awkward if I was her, with everyone smelling me 😩😂
Agreed, but how did it nor occur to her that people would sniff? It’s the larger part of why people shampoo as much as they do.
My happy medium is very dilute shampoo, alternating days, one deep clean a month. Fairly natural formulas.
I'm interested in seeing a scalp scope comparison to someone who washes their hair several times a week.
I can't stay more than 2 days without washing my hair..

nunnya bidness depending on ones hair TYPE washing daily is NOT ok for THEIR hair. Going two days to a week is NOT bad. Id say your hair must be DRY as straw but ewww Im not IGNORANT like YOU ;-)
nunnya bidness 1.My type of hair is not the same as yours 2.You shouldn't wash your hair everyday because it's not good for your hair
+nunnya bidness thats bad for ur hair
Isn't baking soda a chemical as well? Anyway, good for her that she is trying to use something less agressive, and her hair looks amazing
Eh, so is water.
Christine Jackson air is also a mixture of gaseous chemicals too
Christine Jackson it is x3
Christine Jackson it's on the periodic table
Christine Jackson and when mixed with water, it's technically acidic

Go tell someone with kinky hair to brush so the oil could be distributed, smh. Does these doctors only study silky hair????
Could also use lemon/citrus for anti bacteria, vitamin and fragrance. You don't have to smell like vinegar to be chemical free
Kay2be2mr ppl

There's always the handmade shampoos and conditioners you can get from Lush Handmade Cosmetics.
Sama J I know - I work rhere
This young lady did an awesome job proving to many of us that modern-day shampoo is not an all-time answer. It encourages me.
She needs mental help big time. Shampoo is perfectly fine.
Baking soda, vinegar and cold black tea were used in Victorian times; before modern day shampoo was invented (in 1927).
Black tea that's interesting what doesitdo?
Forms a little nativity scene
Her hair is perfection! The No Poo is the best! It takes a good 3 months before your hair balances out and it just looks like this girls, perfect. Water ONLY!
Jeez! She washes her hair. A lot of women use diy shampoos, conditioners and beauty products.
Not all chemicals are bad *
Iri tiri If you dye your hair.... doesn't that defeat the purpose of going chemical free?
No, it wouldn't, if you read it a bit closer you will see my point wasn't to be chemical free. Shampoo effects the pH balance of my scalp> causing all these symptoms> it wasn't until I stopped using shampoo that I got relief from those symptoms. The dying of the hair thing was just a bonus if one were to dye their hair> I'll admit I havent in a while> but to reset the scalps ph balance after dying hair [if needed] wouldnt be a big deal> just wait a day or two. But to be "chemical free"> Don't have the money for that to be on my radar :P
Iri tiri what do you use then? i want to try this but, I dont know what to do
You need to find your own mixture amount of baking soda [1-2Tbl sp to 1/4 cup] with water [I used an old soda bottle- not filled usually, depends on how coarse I want the mixture- for somewhat regular use I would use a lighter mixture, closer to the 1-2 tblspoon size] and [separately only like once a week, vinegar to water 1/4 cup to a separate soda bottle, ghetto I know.] Rinse well..
Just so people know... baking soda causes hair breakage.
Very drying too.
She's been using it for 5 years and has long thick hair. She doesn't seem to have a breakage issue.
exactly, the ph level of baking soda is too high which will cause cuticle damage and fiber breakage.
www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4158629/
I use sulfate and paraben free shampoos as it's less drying and damaging to my hair. (type 4 hair)
damn that intro made me cringe so hard.
Crackpots, yeah no one had shampoo 500 years ago and they smelled nasty and died young. Not saying shampoo equals longevity but it's part of modern science that does.
And, AND sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) is a damn chemical compound. Gasp!
But it's not toxic.
Chemicals existed 500 years ago. Chemicals are mixtures of elements and elements are the basis of life. Right?!?
"HARMFUL CHEMICALS." And as clearly stated, in relation to being used/not used, in the washing of the hair or body!
She is so right... You never know, all these chemicals can be so damaging to our health and features
I like clean hair.
i agree. i use organic chemical free based shampoo and i shampoo once a month but cowash every 3 days and uae organic conditioner every week
"Chemical-free shampoo." Hahaha! You do realize that water is a chemical, right? So just what in the hell is your shampoo made of?
***** no i have never taken a fuckin chemistry class but thx for the 101. Ever taken a fuckin social media anger management class? Relax troll its not that deep lol
Skittelz :3 then stop reading annoying comments and get the stick out ur ass. its youtube, get over it. troll
***** ur an ass if ur really taking this video to heart. The only idiot here is you. We are all big boys and girls, we can believe what we want. The method works for me and i love it. If its not for u then dont do it that simple. Theres bigger world issues with idiots to worry about than some freakin shampoo
Tina Douglas lol you went ham. I hate trolls. But yeah I do ACV on my hair or clay to cleanse mine.
***** renpure
Hel Heim do you use this conditioner all over your hair or just on the bottom portion of your hair?
I'm more worried about chemicals in wall paint, cars, carpet fibers... the stuff we aren't told about.
Its not about not washing your hair its about using shampoo and chemicals or not
rinkatokata1993 everything is chemicals, dumbfuck.
Ya seems like some chemicals are lacking in your fucked head you piece of shit.
Not everything, just an FYI.
sooooo baking soda and vinegar are not chemicals now ?
Liz Quilty but its only Two chemicals..
It’s not a synthetic chemical
They’re not harmful chemicals. Key words
Liz Quilty they never were..
Not harmful chemicals ، dah
WHAT is it being put on us and used
she just doesn't use shampoo. Most shampoos strip hair of natural oils.she still washes her hair. I wash my once a month and use natural oils .
I haven't shampooed my hair in 7 years...
Kevin Johnson Lol.
Sandy239 b im bald lol
Kevin Johnson Good one!
she is doing the right thing but yes honey girl was rude about it she wldnt have walked up on me to smell my hair
You can buy natural goat milk soap with no chemicals at all. I buy mine on Etsy from several different sellers. There are shampoo soaps that are in bars that I have used also.
Pennee101 that's funny because chemicals are found everywhere, even in goat milk
Isaiah Moreno Not in the goat milk soap that I buy I get mine from people who make small batches of organic soap.
Pennee101 chemicals are all around us: in the air we breathe, the ground we walk on, our bodies produce chemicals themselves. My point is, do your research before falling into the "organic, chemical free, natural" lifestyle. They're preying on people's lack of knowledge about this kind of stuff.
Some people don't wash their to help hair growth since chemicals messes up the hair..... for those who missed the point.
everyone smelling her hair xD
My hair is just limp, fine and thin so I have to go without washing it to
goddessmelanisia same
Me: I should stop using shampoo
Me: goes to bathroom and realizes I have 100% natural shampoo with no Dyes or fragrances
Me: gives my self a high five
I haven't washed my hair for two and a half years.
All she is doing is water washing using her own natural sebum. Then ever so often washing with baking soda. There's nothing wrong with what's she doing. It's actually quit healthy.
I wash my hair every 10 days and it looks amazing.
CutestHeidi me too, a bit more frequently in the summer though. There's no need to constantly wash your hair and it's really good for it to let your scalp get oily
CutestHeidi same :3
How did I get here?
We did not have "dermatologists" 500 years ago either. I had to STOP going to yoga class because everyone had so many chemicals on them from toxic perfumes, colognes, hair products, laundry soap. When people started to get sweaty ... I could not do deep breathing particularly when someone was wearing perfume or cologne. very toxic.
She has such a clear, soft complexion -- that in itself is remarkable !
I only cowash my hair now. I use a light conditioner (cleansing conditioner) and a moisturizing conditioner. Then I add coconut oil on damp hair and then a very thick leave in conditioner.
solenne miller Cowashing is still cleaning the hair

Anna O3 omgg same i cut my hair up to my chin and i always shower the night before but then in the morning my hair is so greasy
Anna O3 give it more time, like say, on a vacation away from work. It will eventually balance out.
They were so rude tbh... it’s annoying. Why is that blonde lady even talking, that’s not her natural hair. She looks like she hated her real hair all her life.
I use apple cider vinegar and that's it. I do condition it often though.
now i feel like i wash my hair too much :/
And baking soda is not a chemical??
But good for her for trying to do her thing
Charlie not to mention the water she uses is tap water so its chemically treated lol
Everything is a chemical. Water is a chemical. Food, natural or not, has chemicals. Avoiding chemicals is impossible.
+Noodly Noodly yup you can't avoid chemicals but you can lessen your usage
well, while everything is a chemical...baking soda has a simple list of 4 natural ions and elements
phoenix inthefire Why would you want to do that? Chemicals are not inherently bad.
I wash my hair every other day. I feel like washing your hair every day dries out your scalp and your hair.
I'm really not comfortable with using shampoos that I don't know what they have..
I tried baking soda.. But it didn't work.. So I switched to natural shampoos and cosmetics from Lush.
Hilary Benoit All lush products contain SLS. 😞
Hilary Benoit I LOVE LUSH!!!!! the only sad thing is how much the products cost, but live the stuff frome there
Hilary Benoit There's dozen of REAL natural products, free of SLS that you can find online or in Amazon, same prices or cheaper than Lush. Bath bombs, soaps, shampoo, etc.
Hilary Benoit. Lol. “Natural” shampoos from Lush. That’s a great joke. Their shampoo bars are 90% SLS.
