It was so sweet of her to dedicate that beautiful song to The incomparable Phyllis Hyman. They were good friends. To this day Miss Hyman is deeply missed ❤ 8/13/17
There's something sublime and deeply touching about Angela Bofil singing this tribute to her contemporary Phyllis Hyman. Always loved Angie's angelic sound. Quite a vocal musician as well.
I like the Stylistics version became they were the first to record it and they did a great job . I love Phyllis Hyman version because of her voice and her interpretation. I love Angela Bollinger because she does a voice and a unique voice and God bless for remembering Phyllis.
@@stuartblaustein1199 Thanks for the correct information. Just her heard version it is nice. I remember telling my mother that I was crazy about Denise Williams singing It's Going To Take A Miracle. That was back in 1978. Didn't know that it was recorded by a female group from Baltimore call The Royallets back in the 60s.
I saw Angie live at the Beacon Theatre and at a small venue lik the Club Bene in Keyport, NJ. She was superb every time. Let's pray for her total healthy recovery. MerylJ
Angela Bofill's voice, so sultry and magical! Ironically, I saw Angela Bofill's episode of "Unsung" on Sunday night for the first time. I did a Google search, hoping to read good news about her recovery from two strokes and was saddened 😢 when I found out she passed away on June 13th. My heart 💔goes out to the Bofill family. Angela, "Your next home will be even sweeter!" Rest in Heaven, Angela! 🙏🏾💕♬🎤♬
Damn! Angela voice is so Fine! For someone who just became a devoted fan just last December 2020, I am awestruck by Angela's gift. I had never heard of her. The local radio stations never played her music--sometimes that makes me sad and angry. But I have posts on RUclips and access to all her music. That is Happiness!
I didn't really know of her until my older sister went to Howard U in DC. I think she was more popular on the east coast bc I don't remember the L.A. stations playing her too much or at all really. All stations should've been playing and still playing her.
How fitting that this singer would sing in tribute to Hyman. There’s a youthful, vulnerable quality to her voice. Pure and clear. Just two great singers.
I remember hearing Angela Bofill singing this as a tribute to Phyllis Hyman when she came to the Keswick Theater in Glenside, PA near Philly. This was back in the Summer of 2000. That was a very beautiful concert Ms Bofill had put on.
Why do people always feel the need to criticize.I am phyllis biggest fan and i can still appreciate Miss Bofill rendition .Thank goodness for differences or every one would sing the exact same way, ,boringggg. Thank goodness for these recordings because its all thats left now after her illnesses and she cant sing anymore
May 3rd: Happy birthday R&B-Jazz Singer Angela Bofill. Thank you and God bless.....tha's a singer right there. Thanks for the upload, everett860. Blessings
Angela Bofill to this day is my favorite. I had the pleasure of seeing her in concert many, many years ago and her voice is beautiful. She is one of a kind and she is even better in person and she's gorgeous.
This is just a beautiful song. I've never heard anyone not do it justice. I remember being a kid and reading this title on the back of an album and thinking "What the heck does Betcha By Golla Wow mean? And then The Stylistics explained it to me. As well as Phyllis Hyman and Angela Bofill. I understand it now. It means beauty. Wow, I betcha.
I LOVE ANGELA BOFILL BUT PHYLLIS HYMAN WAS MY GIRL!! AND PHYLLIS HYMAN SHE PUT A HURTING ON THE THIS SONG. LOVE YOU FOREVERMORE. FROM NORTHEAST BALTIMORE 12/31/19
I can remember the first time 😀 I heard Ms. Angela music my mom sister would play her album my aunt was a very pretty woman nice clothes 😁 nice job 💋 great men oooo she sure did have it 💋 going on in those days young people would just parade around us as kids because of her life style..... Thanks 💋💋😘♥️
@rueparisienne Yep...I totally agree with you...I have {almost} everything CD/LP by both these artist. When you heard these women sing a song you had no doubt who you were listening too. Today, all the new artist, male and female sound alike...pretty boring actually...this is real music. So glad were able to {still} hear this fabulous music whenever.
sharon cuneta once asked her if she studied formal music in puerto rico coz she thought her voice is just too great in mid 80's during a guest appearance @ noon time variety show here to promote her upcoming concert and her answer to sharon was..." oh.. i actually teaches music back at home! "
Angela Bofill was born in the Bronx and grew up in NYC. She did not live in Puerto Rico. She did study classical music. She's an excellent musician as well as singer.
DeshaunX at first I thought her voice was very strange. I heard 'Under The Moon And Over The Sky' and thought her voice sounded trumpet like. She is a versatile vocalist though and can lighten up her voice.
Chris Coyne She's a musician who sings.... I noticed those types of singers Angela , Prince , Curtis mayfield , Marvin gaye , Lamont johnson , Bootsy Collins ect ect.... have a different almost instrument approach to singing it's a acquired taste for sure most people are use to gospel belters and pop singers that the phrasing and articulation of Angela's voice sounds strange
Amen T wright they don't make music that touches the soul and Spirit.. That's why so easy to be Corrupt. Just don't feel anything need substance in place of true feelings. Cali girl
This is really a great song by Angel Bofill. I would love to have a copy of this song by her "Betcha By Golly Wow" Is there anyway to pay for a copy of this song?
Her voice was pure beauty! She performed this song in the same manner and that Ms. Phyllis Hyman performed it. Both women sang this beautifully.
RIP beautiful songstress.
It seems you cannot think of one without thinking of the other. Bofill and Hyman were two great Arista artists.
AMEN!!!
It was so sweet of her to dedicate that beautiful song to The incomparable Phyllis Hyman. They were good friends. To this day Miss Hyman is deeply missed ❤ 8/13/17
