Honestly, the way her tail was twitching I half expected her to try to deface you the moment she got wet. The fact you made it that long before kitty went boom is remarkable.
I recently saw a video of a cat slipping through a cat flap barely bigger than a key hole, maybe 2x2 inches. This hole was like a wide open gate to Ivy!
@@apples_and_oranges yep, cats can fit through almost anything their head can fit through. And no, this isn't because they "have no collar bones", as the rumor says. They definitely have them!

I just got an equigroomer after watching you use it on cats and dogs, and this thing is amazing. Cat loves it, and I think I have brushed and entire cat out of her since last night lol
@@okinawa1312 I know what you mean but she actually has a range of behavioral choices. Her dominant disposition could have been, for example, angry, unfazed or contented. If you watch Vanessa's other cat grooming vlogs you'll see what a difference there can be. :)
The way her tail kept flicking back and forth reminded me of how humans tap their fingers when they're becoming very impatient with something. And, when she growled she didn't really strike out to harm you, at least it didn't seem like it from this angle. She did look gorgeous after her grooming!
Two suggestions from a lifelong cat person. I've noticed you call dogs by their names but generally call all the cats "cat" or "kitty." Actually, cats often DO respond to their names, even if they are not as obedient as dogs LOL. It might help to use their names! Also, I've had a cat professionally groomed using a high velocity dryer like yours, and it really scared her, which worried me. When that same kitty got very old, I began regularly bathing her myself. What I found is that using first a soft, warm towel, and then a regular hair dryer on low velocity worked great. I turned the heat to a higher setting and she LOVED that, while less noise and lower "blowing" kept her from being scared. Sometimes I'd gently brush her while I used the hair dryer. It took a few minutes longer but worked out much better. She even began to welcome getting bathed and dried.
That's true. My cats have always responded to their names, however little it may have been. My cats also calmed down easier when I called them by their names.
My mom's cat responds to her name. My cat does too, she is very afraid of strangers so I have no idea how she would react to someone else saying it though. And of course they don't have the trained "come here" reaction that dogs do. But my mom's cat does sometimes.
My cat does respond to his name...... well it would be more accurate to say he responds to the names I call him that would get this comment insta-blocked.

We've had 3 British Shorthairs. All adorable. We were told that they don't shed much but 2 out of the 3 certainly did! In general very laid back cats but this one made it obvious, with the tail thumping, that she was not happy!
Oh no, poor thing! 😿 Well, that's obviously one of the occasions where there's no way around bathing the cat. But watching this video I couldn't help but think, "Why does this young, healthy cat, that obviously cleans itself well (the georgous looking and feeling coat is proof) need a bath?" Cat's don't have BO like dogs do. Why put her through this stress? Just to be on YT?
@@eva-w you don’t know why a cat may need grooming. She could be difficult when it comes to nail clipping. She may react badly to brushing. She may be shedding too much for the owners to handle and deshedding shampoo will help. A myriad of reasons that don’t need your approval. 😊

Yep, along with ears flattened back and huuuuuuge iris'. Was waiting the whole video for the explosion.
The tail twitching was the 1st clue, my cat does the same when she's getting ready to attack.
Often a kitty simply loses patience with being restrained or confined at a moment when she would prefer to run away and hide.
She was a very patient girl, but when cats have had enough they'll make it very clear that you should fluff off.
