    I NEED it to be canon that Seyka and Aloy kissed in Burning Shores! Not only was their chemistry amazing but I love how they are equals in terms of skill, determination, and heart. And I need Gildun to become part of the main cast in Horizon 3, I love how rather than part ways with Gildun and leave him to his sorrow like what happens to too many other side quest characters, Aloy actually trusts him with a focus, gives him someone to always talk to in GAIA and tells him to call him if he ever feels down or needs a friend. I wish more people did something like that in real life, especially with mental health issues coming more and more to light.
    I’m still sad that this is the last time we will ever see Lance Reddick as Sylens, REST IN PEACE. I just hope that instead of killing him off that they recast Sylens. Lance loved this character so damn much, so he wouldn’t want it to end with his premature death.

      How are they equal in skill?..... people just keep talking like Seyka is an Aloy-..... she's an Atreus at best. She might (if she continues) level up into a good character... but for me she was scene-dressing. I personally DIDN'T go that option, as I didn't believe any of it... just writing a character fluttering her eyelashes, doesn't make it believable. Just my old fashioned - earn-the-relationship perspective. From my own perspective I thought that Talanah or Petra were much better matches.... they were both focused on their experience, whereas Seyka to me seemed more like a petulant child, whereas they felt like adult women who could go toe-to-toe. Everyone has a different view however

    Greg questioned how much the Seyka romance would really matter for Horizon III. I think it will matter, and I point to Exhibit A: The Frozen Wilds.
    In Frozen Wilds, we met and learned about the HEPHAESTUS subordinate function, who would become a major villain in Forbidden West (moreso than HADES from the first game). Pointedly, Forbidden West makes no attempt to explain HEPHAESTUS; it assumes you played Frozen Wilds and thus already know about it. This is also true of the CYAN AI and Gildun from that DLC, as well as Petra and Nil (optional Zero Dawn characters). Aloy even started Forbidden West with the secret Zero Dawn shield armor!
    To put it short, since all Quests, Side Quests and DLC have mattered before, I expect Seyka will to, with the third game not explaining who Seyka is for those who skipped Burning Shores outside of introducing her to Erend, Kotallo and Zo.
    As for the romance choice itself, I think Horizon III will handle it like Horizon II did with Sun King Avad's crush on Aloy: by literally asking the question again when they first meet.
    Hope that all makes sense!

    • @KBABZ
      @KBABZ Год назад

      Also Aloy's Shieldweaver Armor was the armor she wore at the start of the game, she didn't lose it! (it's batteries depleted)

    I really need to know what Greg and Janet consider to be a good boss fight. It seems to me the like when the boss fights are mostly on rails and more cinematic.
    Like they want animations more than mechanics it seems.

    • @SGustafsson
      @SGustafsson Год назад

      Exactly what I thought, like seems like they dont wanna get knocked down or struggle, just enjoy some spectacle i guess.
      I thought this last burning shores boss fight had it all, i loved it. For the spectacle but also the freedom of it.
      Like in solar ash (which janet seems to bring up as better boss design) u just hold the stick and press jump, then press the interact button when u get to the point - i dont know, i personally didnt like it that much.
      I feel more clumsy during horizons big battles, but also more engaged.

    • @Gameonysus
      @Gameonysus Год назад +1

      Honestly it's tough for me to pin down. I definitely want it to be close to whatever the main mechanics or challenges are so The Stranger in God of War is one of my favorites ever (the end fight in 2018 is also very good and tough). It doesn't necessarily have to be on rails or cinematic but I think a lot of games try to create spectacle without putting it on rails and it just ends up looking sloppy. To me its an attempt to have your cake and eat it too that rarely works.
      Some other favorite bosses: the giant knight in Demon's Souls, Ganon in BOTW except for the second phase lol because again it was suppose to be "easy/cool looking" but it just looked very ugly when I did it.

    I'd like to see more dodging/parrying techniques in Horizon 3. The boss in DLC was great and much needed because the FW final boss seemed underwhelming. Not in terms of fighting but in terms of scale. I felt the story was too grandiose to finish it off like this and Horus delivered. I'd give it 4.5 for I needed it to be a tad longer. Literally finished the entire thing in 2 sittings and I tried VERY hard not to rush through, so I finished all of the side quests first, lol.
    I don't think Seyka will be completely written off in H3. All of the options given are essentially supporting the canon, just handling it in different ways. However, the fact the choices are given I suspect is mostly to give a feedback to Guerrilla, so they can see what majority picked and how exactly they should nuance her character in later games. At least, on my opinion, that would be the smart move and the only explanation to such development.
    In real world I agree, if someone finds excuses - don't even bother. In Horizon, however, it is more of a choice not to center the game around the relationship. The franchise never been known to revolve around romance and it would be weird to start now. I presume the first portion of H3 Aloy would be occasionally contacting Seyka through the focus after certain missions to catch up and, closer to the second third, they'll probably reunite and end up going on the mission against Nemesis all together. At least this is what would be the ideal turn of events.
    Underwater missions are a little bit meh, not gonna lie. But the only thing that really bothers me in Horizon games is climbing mechanics. Sometimes the buttons I press normally to get to the certain point don't work or she's jumping off to the right direction but never gets a grasp and just falls off. At this point I spent an eternity playing Horizon and I still get frustrated sometimes. Even in this DLC we had the mission with manifest when I wanted to pull out my hair. I was stubborn not to use the waterwing and climb all the way through how it was intended. Man, I spent more time reaching the top than doing the entire mission, lol.
    Sylens. God, I love that man. So charismatic and so hard to replace. IDK what the devs are gonna do with him but it would be a waste to shove the character aside. I think they should go for a different mocap actor. They'll probably have hoards of unhappy cry boys going after them but so they would if they'll just write him off. There's no winning with these people when it comes to this franchise, lol. Sylens' last line was powerful and it made it even more significant with his passing.
    RIP.

  • @JDas2k
    @JDas2k Год назад

    Here's what I'll say about Horizon for Netflix. Yes, they could pull off the VFX if they are adapting the game shot for shot. Recently Sony acquired Pixomondo a big VFX company which worked on Star Trek Discovery and Brave New World. Pixomondo also has a large studio in Toronto. With our proximity to Rouge Valley park and other forrest areas outside the GTA, location shots is not hard. If you need to mocap animals, you got the Toronto Zoo. Steve Blackman (The Umbrella Academy) knows how to shoot a series. I'm confident he can pull this off. If we want to get more technical, Guerrilla is investing more R&D in the Decima engine. What if they are creating a game to tv film production pipeline? Imagine just click and dragging the machine models you already made for the game, into a virtual production a la Disney+ The Volume? A lot of virtual productions are using Unreal Engine currently.
    If the show is adapting the fall of mankind in 2074, I would guess the leadup for the end of season 1-2 is we will see the cauldrons and just a sprinkle of the machines in the series. I really want to see the flight of the Ten adapted. So many possibities for this to be a great series.

    That's not 100% true but true enough where Guerilla may want to address it in the next game.
    In HZD, the choices impact how Aloy addresses other events. If you respond a lot with fist, she will come off as more angry in other situation. So it is not 1 choice, but multiple choices that make up Aloy's portrayal. In HFW, it seems like this is less the case.
    I saw this video & I thought maybe this would be where they talk about the best secret weapon in the game: the toy bow. It is a silly little thing that made me smile, but since it is an easter egg for TLOU2, I couldn't fully appreciate it or the song you can play with it at a certain location. Hopefully they find it and share their thoughts later.

    I thought the Horus fight was actually pretty fucken dope. It was on rails but still gives you the freedom to take it down with whatever u got. And the arena part with the tentacles, ive never seen a boss fight look that gorgeously (if thats a word). The Avengers tank comparison is i guess a fair comparison but that shit gets so monotonous after idk 5 minutes. And you have NPC helping you. And as for the last area with the blue sphere ill admit that part wasn't it for me because not for its difficulty or jumping over to hit the tanks. But because Walter was just another coward behind the curtains very Wizard of OZ. So i respectively disagree with how the last fight went down but i digress. And yes hell yeah i chose the ❤ choice in the end i felt it in my gut Aloy and Seyka had to pair up. Did they scissor each other before Aloy went off on to her next adventure and prepare for H3 as a heterosexual man i sure fucking hope so. Its the end of the world baby😂

    As for the comment on Londra... he was actually totally missable for me... the thing is, the only villain HZD has had is Sylens.... because he's a villain you need. Whereas the rest of them (including Tilda) were inconsequential (and that last boss fight was just laughable IMO). Londra was an egotist - but guess what, we have our real-world equivalents. The idea it's clever to put a caricature of a public figure into games is very dated. Thank the that more games didn't have a Trump proxy. The entire ending of BS was weak as - and the bossfight was something out of Nier-Automata... not what I expected from HZD. I would give it a 3/5 at best; especially as I thought the relationship component was just shoe-horned in (oh...wait, I know the world is going to end, but I dig you gurl....). I luv Janet - and I totally agree with her observation... why are the FarZenith's that obsessed with the past... not 1 year ago, not 10 years ago... but 1000+ years ago? Seriously, if that's how boring their lives were, they deserve the family-ordered-disconnect IMO,. EDIT - I'm so sorry I didn't wait until the end.... I hooked into this via podcast (a long time after beating the DLC). So.... for me (and I know no one cares at this point) Geurilla took the easy way out. I have platinumed both main games (and finished both DLC though not 100%). For me Aloy was either petulant or for most of the game-play, an annoying VO distraction that I managed to filter out. Her constant talking was perhaps the worst design decision that Sony has allowed through to production IMO. I enjoy the game - and enjoyed playing most of the DLC. However, as a 51yo white male (yes, not a popular demographic), I thought the writing on the Seyka story-line was literally CW... it wasn't an adult relationship, but rather... you+me=click-bait. I don't hate on Aloy having a lesbian/bi relationship - I just think the idea of foisting this on a DLC while having spent 200+ hours of her batting of man/woman/furry-creature-in-the-wild and for her to suddenly go all-in was both unbelievable and unsatisfying. Does Aloy need to humanise - YEP! Does she need to do it over 5-10 hours of story line when nothing much ACTUALLY happens to justify it?.....

    Might be super frustrating, but that would probably really help her develop better motor skills and learn how to read certain enemies attack patterns.
    No one gets better at anything by playing easier games all the time. You need to challenge yourself to improve on anything in life

      I am improving my gaming skills all the time just by the sheer amount of hours I play and the spread of genres I dabble into. I always acknowledge that I'm not as good as combat as folks like Andy or Blessing but I also don't think I have to be. There are all types of players. But frankly, I'm really good at Horizon so I think this is a super fair critique from me that is still couched in the caveat that maybe I was just bad at it.
      Also being able to figure something out doesn't mean that the dev telegraphed it well or taught players well. There are many times where I'm able to do something in a game and still feel the team didn't onboard me well. Its not just about whether or not I CAN do something. I killed the final boss on my first try. It just wasn't a good fight to me.
      If I have to train to be able to enjoy your game I got bad news for you, that's a very high bar most players will not hit and they shouldn't have to.
      Lastly, it's interested that you name me in this comment but don't say anything about Greg who agreed with me. I'm sure you'll say its because you feel like you hear this complaint from me more than Greg but tbh I think it's kinda shitty to take my criticism and to discount it with this thinly veiled "git gud" argument.

      @@Gameonysus Hi Janet, I definitely could've mentioned Greg as well. This wasn't supposed to single you out just for the sake of it.
      As you've already correctly assumed, I hear you complain about difficulty and certain boss fights being frustrating quite often. A lot more than Greg. But as you both seem pretty aligned in most things, I wouldn't be surprised if he agrees with you most of the time.
      I think the difference in perception might be due to the fact that Greg is much less vocal about difficulty issues than you are. Probably just a difference in how you both deliver your opinions - you just often go straight to the point and then spend a lot of time talking about issues in details (which I appreciate most of the time btw)
      I also beat the boss and just disagree with your criticism about that one specific arena moment and the arms not telegraphing where they would land and hit you. It seemed very obvious to me. Especially because Horus literally starts glowing and you can see exactly where the arms are going. This isn't about "being taught something before".
      [A better example for that would be Uncharted 4's final boss fight, which introduces completely new mechanics for that one fight out of nowhere.]
      But in the case of Horus, it's fairly simple evading, which is almost a throwback to old PS2 games.
      But it's fine to agree to disagree on that.
      About training to be able to play a game? Again, I've noticed you mentioning quite often how frustrated you are with encounters that are slightly above the usual difficulty. And especially when they include forms of evasion.
      That's why I also mentioned trying to play through a modern Souls game, because those games are solely built on reading enemy movements and reacting accordingly by evading. Nut I know that you don't enjoy them.
      This isn't even specifically about this game, but others as well. Obviously, not everyone has the skill level of Andy or Bless and it can also depend on the genre, but it has just been very noticeable how often you mention being frustrated in games.
      I though the final boss was an excellent fight for the most part. At least when fighting Horus. The criticism in regards to Londra is totally fair though. It's a little boring and annoying, because of something you've mentioned repeatedly with Aloy - her standing-back-up-animation taking too long.
      I hope that I've made my reasoning more clear to you. Still appreciate your opinions (whether I agree or disagree). Just felt like there must be some skill-based issues after noticing how often you seem to struggle at different games. But maybe it just sticks out, because other hosts rarely mention difficulty and you are a very vocal person.

    My issues with the Burning Shore end boss were it looked amazing initially but then I just ended up standing underneath it trying to snipe the "hotspot" so you didn't get that "woah" feeling anymore.
    And the final, final fight with Londra just felt annoying, being hit with the knockdown electricity wave just before you can shoot the hotspots was very frustrating bad design.
    Still loved the rest of the DLC though.

    About to listen, but Greg didn’t even finish the side quests, which they were only three… Didn’t complete the cauldron and left. A lot of other elements untouched its DLC and it’s a PS exclusive… You should’ve went all the way.

    I didn't like the romance here, it felt forced. We go through 40 hours of forbidden west, and we get beat over the head that Alloy has no time for love, and then from the very beginning with Seyka, Alloy is smitten. And it's not like the character from the Hunters lodge from the first two games, isn't a very similar character to Seyka, so we could have had Alloy and her end up together. Flesh out alloys and seykas relationship more in the third game, and I'll feel better about their relationship.

      Not having "time for love" and "falling in love" are very different things. Stuff like that happens quickly.
      You've never fallen in love with someone even though you don't know them that well? That's basically Aloy and Seyka. They are in love, but don't really know each other that well. There was no need to flesh out it yet.
      But I hope that Horizon 3 will spend more time with them

      @@X5J2UY no. I don't believe in falling in love with someone without knowing them well. What are you falling in love with then, if you don't know anything about the person? For all you know, they could enjoy torturing little animals in their spare time
