you could have mentioned that you can feed in the console commands to the engine.ini file so you don't need to type the console commands every time. But great video nonetheless
Thanks for this awesome breakdown, very helpful for anyone struggling with this issue! It's been great to have your professional feedback and ideas on the plugin as well. Anyone reading this, if you're not subscribed to Joshua, I recommend you do so - he's got a lot of amazing new content coming your way!
Ah cool stuff. I have not worked much with nanite. However, now that UE5.4 has displacement mapping I am much more likely to start working with Nanite. BTW, I am looking at this from the "video game" perspective rather than from the movie production perspective. Thanks for some great tips!
Thanks for the explanation. Path tracer pro and light force I have purchased. I work with a windows pc all 2 I added them to the plugin folder then they appeared under the plugin. I activated both of them. However now I see no logo appear in my menu. I work with UE5.3, do you know where this is due to? Thanks!
(I'm relatively new to UE5) What's the point of using nanite if we do things like set its fallback mesh to have the same number of verts as the original mesh?
Joshua! I just wanted to point out the very interesting course of Jaro Atry. he has a very interesting aproach in masking film footage with shadows. Its quite interesting and delivers great results. he is quite a wizard...best greets Marco
@marcogrob3899 With respect to Jaro, because I like his work and results. I dont try to retain shadows because I prefer shadow projection in the virtual environment. That way, they can interract with the geometry correctly. I work with a three pass key method in after effects to retain edge detail and posted a video about it on patreon recently.

Yep, saw it this morning as a film course student. Gonna buy it tomorrow. Nice one, thanks.
It's a good piece of software. Anything to save a bit of time y'know. Plus, it's only going to gain more features as time goes on.

It was a pleasure mate. I'm glad you found my input helpful. Looking forward to creating more videos with you.
Great tips man. One thing I am stuck is; My shadows foliage don't move when raytracing shadows are activate im my sunlight. Any solution for this?
The two sided geometry command always resolves it for me. I don't need to do anything else
You can also put the console in your level bp,you just have to run it once you open the map
Wow. These plugins are just perfect. Thank you !

I'd reach out to their support. I haven't run into that issue myself and use UE5.3 also.
@@JoshuaMKerr Thanks! I did.

It's for rendering with PathTracer. You still spend lots of time in lit mode during the build and nanite can improve performance
Thanks for sharing Joshua.
No worries
TYYYY I LOVE you! greetings from Ecuador!! o/
Thanks for this!
My pleasure!
thank you

Are you talking about his two pass key?
@@JoshuaMKerr yes… it’s similar to yours… i am especially impressed by his way of controlling every part of the colors, saturation etc

Hopefully in a few years, this will work on Mac too
I hope so
Plugins are never a good solution because they may or may not be supported 3 years from now.
