I like how those dark fabrics create those lines! Fantastic video! I will forever and always love how you photograph your fabric and arrange it by value.
I love these table runners. You have taught me so much about how to distinguish darks, lights and mediums in fabrics. I am getting much more confident with all of this and even though my sewing looked nice before I learnt from you, now I feel my sewing looks even nicer. I really like your teaching style. Thanks to you Kris. Keep up the good work.
I love watching you sew! You are not in a hurry, and actually take the time to enjoy your project! It is truly infectious to me. I still am so bad at colors, light and dark. This was helpful and I may tackle this. 😉
Thank you so much! This is the best compliment. ❤️ I really do love the process, especially the problem-solving side of sewing. I am thrilled this is helpful!
Definitely will make this! Love the stripe running through. I have the diagonal seam tape and prefer it to marking each HST. It is a little tricky to get the tape on right, and it doesn’t stay on well, but I still like it better than marking the fabric.
YES! I agree. I struggle with the seam tape and always end up sewing something wrong with it. Marking for the win! Glad I am not the only one who does this. 😀 So glad you are going to make this! Thank you so much for watching and sharing!
Very useful video with a lot of good tips. I love your table runner, especially the way you quilted it. When I first started quilting, I was really in love with charm packs, and I got a lot of them without having specific projects in mind, so I still have many. So I'm always looking for ideas.
How pretty! I really like your design. My cat Tiger who is laying across my arm, was wondering about a Tiger stripes version. Ha ha. Thank you Kris! Uh oh. My teacup bowl cozy is starting to be used as a sewing catchall! Marion in Oregon.
Thank you so much! ❤️ Yes, I always mark this much. If I use the tape or any other method, I end up making mistakes and ripping out stitches, so for me, it saves me time. I know a lot of people who don’t mark, however, and have success. I think it may just be me. 😂
When sorting lights and darks, I have a problem with white backgrounds with a lot of black or red or similar color prints. They seem so white when next to a medium or dark yet if in with the white, all I can see is the dark color. I don't know where to put them. They end up in the scrap basket, even though they go with a certain fabric line. I have some layer cake pieces that need cutting...this table runner will work well. Yay! Less scraps.
It is tricky, isn't it? I never trust my eye on those and always use my phone to take a picture and change it into black and white or use a ruby beholder. My eyes lie all the time! 😀 Great idea about the layer cakes! Thank you so much for watching and sharing!

I like to mark my quarter inch as well for the sew lines. Thanks for a great tutorial!
You are so welcome! Glad I am not the only one who does this. We are in good company! 😀
Love❤
Yay! Thank you! ❤️
You can make a ledge on the 45 with 2 or 3 lahers of painters tape. It becomes a diy loc block ruler. Works pretty good
Great tip! I have done this, too! Works beautifully! Thank you for sharing. ❤️
How pretty! I really like your design. My cat Tiger who is laying across my arm, was wondering about a Tiger stripes version. Ha ha. Thank you Kris! Uh oh. My teacup bowl cozy is starting to be used as a sewing catchall! Marion in Oregon.

Another great video, thanks for sharing. Enjoyed and learned a bit... Be well
Thanks, you too! 🥰

🥰 Thank you! 🥰
Watching this again 😂. Do you always do this marking? Does it take a lot more time ( if you do ?). You do such nice work!! Thanks for this vid

@@SewtheDistance just that your projects turn out do beautifully!! That’s why I ask!😂❤️. Great job
