Thank you oh so much Kris, I have watched so many videos on binding and I think you have the best tutorial ever. I think I got it. Thanks again Kris, can't wait to learn more from you.
I really enjoyed this video. I have made a June Taylor quilt-as-you-go bag. It was great to make. I always had trouble squaring things up until you taught me. Now I approach squaring things up with no fear, thanks to you Kris. These place mats will be good for summer BBQs.
Love June Taylor products. Came out so pretty. I’m glad you left the oopsies in, I’m not a beginner but I teach young girls to quilt using videos. You can tell them that everyone makes them, but nice for them to see, we all do and that’s ok! Thank you!
These are very nice place mats. I love the colors used. My mother used to make her own starch. She would make it over a burner on the stove. It had a light blue color and dried clear. Her starch really made things stiff. She starched all our shirts, blouses, and her aprons with it (before hanging them out on the clothes line to dry). While I was in Basic Training in the Women's Army Corps (1966-1967), I starched my light blue, cotton, Physical Training, uniform skirt so stiff that it stood up on my bunk all by itself (when buttoned up) after I ironed it with more starch. It looked a lot like a lamp shade when I had it on (it was an "A' line skirt).
I used these kits to make a coordinating bib and placemat for my baby granddaughter and 4 year old grandson for every holiday a couple of years ago. It was fun, fast and they loved them!
Thank you! 😍 YES! Love that technique, too! I have a video tutorial on how to make a table runner with jelly roll strips using the quilt as you go method. It is a reversible table runner, too. Even better! Thanks so much for watching and sharing!
I always appreciate your videos. I am currently working on my very first quilt. I do not have a sewing machine yet so I’m doing it all by hand. Even though you are using a machine, I’ve still have been able to apply your tips and techniques. Thank you so much. 😊
Thank you so much! I love quilting and teaching. I am so happy it translates in my videos. ❤️ You should make some! They are fun and work up super fast!
Kris...I think you were reading my mind again!!! This is exactly what I was thinking of making, but had some questions...thanks to you, they are answered and I'm off to the races!!! Hugs from Canada.
Thank you for showing us how you bind placemats. I've tried several methods, depending on what I'm binding. I also prefer single fold binding on table toppers and placemats. Love the fabric you used for these!
Thanks for another informative video. I have been cutting first, then starching. Guess I know why my pieces get a little wonky. Love the fabric you used in the placemats!
Hi Kris. This is so cute. You reminded me that I have those other placemats to make. I better get started...they're supposed to be for summer. Have a great day!
Very nice. I should try your single fold binding method. I just finished a Christmas wall hanging several days ago. The binding was sewed to the back then sew it on the front method. It's ok, but I regretted not hand sewing it down. Thank you, Kris! Marion
I made.a.different version of the JT QAYG.placemats - in red, white and blue. I'm a new quilter. They make me feel like I've accomplished something! I think June Tailor is made up, like Better Crocker 🤣🤣🤣

You're always a joy to watch. Thank you, Chris!
My pleasure! So nice of you! Thank you!
I like your thinner binding idea, don't do hand sewing but I can machine sew it, thanks, great video.
This works well on the machine, too, for sure! Glad you love them!
I love your videos - and I love your single binding technique!😊
Thank you!
It is my favorite method. So much easier and less bulky, too!
I have used June Tailor quilt as you go in other projects, The numbers and lines disapear with a hot iron. Great idea thanks
Oh, that's so good to know! I will try that. Thank you!
These are great! Thanks
My pleasure! So glad you like it.

I understand that. I often experience binding regret. 😀
My pleasure, Marion! Good to hear from you!
Love that fabric!
Isn't it a great line? Love them, too!
Awesome job. I like that you show that e all makes oops. And how to fix them
Yay! So glad you like this!
I am always using that seam ripper. LOL!

They really are great!
YES! Her first name is June but Tailor isn't her last time. That sure would be something if it were! LOL!
Love the placemats.
Thank you!
Love QAYG projects
I have been doing single fold binding recently on quilts that won’t receive a lot of washing, etc or potholders…. Thanks
My pleasure!
Wonderful! It is a great way to bind!
👋👋 beautiful
Thank you! Cheers!
❤❤❤
Can I ask which model of Janome you made these on?
Of course! I have the 6700P. I love it!
Loved it until the phrase “Hand Stitch”, that’s never going to happen 😂
I understand! 😆 You can do it by machine, too.
