As a car guy, and an Mt-10 rider myself, I loved seeing this race.
If the Audi was figured out, the roll races would have been a lot tighter (Audi probably taking one win, and right on the tail of the bike for two), and the drags would have been audi for all three.
Hopefully, we get to see this race again, with the Audi dialed in, and the r1 on different tires.
Tyres are insignificant for the bike it's limited by wheelies not traction, could go way quicker if it wasn't trying to lift the front end constantly.

Lmao... If you think you need anything more than Road 6s in a straight drag race with a stock wheelbase R1 you need to check yourself..

@@TeamNoAffiliation No, I think YOU need to do that. The acceleration in a drag race for that R1 is not grip limited, at no stage will that bike want to spin up the rear wheel on dry, clean tarmac over wanting to wheelie. If anything the Road 6 is better for a drag race since it warms up quickly after a run or 2 and also has lower rolling resistance compared to a sticky track tyre.
Vr6 turbo got be up there with one of the best sounding cars fr 🔥
Audi is freaking beast.. Once is get settled properly it’s gonna eat the road. That one race just showed a little part what it’s capable of 😮

FYI I had no closed loop tuning before this day and had to make a couple changes the week running up to this….as you can all see it wasn’t running right but when I worked around some issues it flew……loads more to come and I’ll be back with it right and probably a bit more power!

@@Mr_OoOsH I have some question for you, because I own a3 with the 3.2. How much money it costed you to build it to this point. I want to turbo mine, but 1000hp is too much for me, maybe 500-600.

Just the turbo and dash are £5k parts only for some idea of how it adds up
The Syvecs really does well getting it off the line, that clean launch was perfect. Small amount of wheel spin from the front wheels when the weight transfers then just grip and off 🤌

Bikes are mad fast and props have to be given for putting down that power and times on a credit cards width contact patch of rubber on one wheel. Both were amazing and I look forward to seeing the audi after it works all the kinks out. Kudos to both pilots and their amazing rides!
It's clear to see when he figures out how the settings work on that A3 this will be a machine,hope to see this Audi run against few cars in the future

He's not bad but any competent rider won't use launch control on a modern superbike as it's always slower than a good manual launch

Had to short shift by 1k rpm to get around the TC and closed loop issues….far from faultless.

The R1 even with the mods is one of the slowest bikes on the market. It's slower with the mods than a stock RSV4, Ducati V4, S1000RR, CBR1000RRR, probably others. I have ridden two modified R1s of that age and they're small and pretty light but they don't perform like they feel. Also, Road6 tires are a touring bike tire, lol
Still in wsbk Yamaha wins most of the time . Honda and bmw both are shit in wsbk . Only having more horsepower means nothing . The r1 is more agile and it's meant for the tracks . Only the v4r is a better tool currently.
@@10daysAgo WSBK bikes are just barely based on production bikes at all. I wouldn't take a lot from that. Yamaha has done well but it's mostly the talent that they've found more than the bikes. I have a Pro friend who has a list of mods on his R1 that is just obscene to compete with the ZX10R and S1000RR here in Canada, and as good as he and the bike are, they still rarely do well in the national invitationals.
I love bikes 🏍️ and did my full bike license before I did my car license, so that shows my ❤ for bikes, but I think my love for the VR6 is just running through my veins a little bit more today because I was wanting the VR6 to win 🏆

BOTH were rapid...but when that A3 loaded up right and hooked up off the line (on street tyres) that was mind blowing. Gapping that R1 like that was shocking. I would LOVE to see that car back with all the kinks ironed out (and still dirty to keep that Rat / Sleeper vibe). Ahh man I love this stuff

Honestly bikes are a great entry into hyper performance. For less than £5k ur into some serious bikes, but you have to be a sensible person to stay safe on a bike !
It's the same as driving a fast car hard really. There's no question the bike will always be more risky but driving a fast car hard is also a very dangerous activity, sometimes made more dangerous by the false sense of security of sitting in a metal box with airbags.
Yes, and riding a bike is never safe, not a car either but much much safer of course.

Not so fast these days though when compared to modern superbikes. Iconic bike however and I was a fan since watching it battle a Porsche in an insane street race.

Ah man I bet Paul left this event and the car run strong as hell with no faults on the street. My best guest is TCU software. I believe the dsg not shifting, shift point set to high? getting the engine hung up at redline causing it to fall on its face. The r32 turbo is a beast. Shift sooner and let that torque work.

This maybe a silly comment so forgive me if it is... the air filter being so close the engine without even a heat shield cant be good for intake air temps ? And heat soak ??
Have vents in now but running meth my IAT’s are around 19/20°

sounds like closed loop PID on the audi is needing played with. You can hear it ramp in and out of boost.
ahhh syvecs strugling to control the dsg box, common story with syvecs. just old tech nowadays :)
@@BEYTEKwe didn’t do any closed loop tuning at all before this and after we made a change torque increased so the TCU got all confused so the only way I could get a run was to short shift by 1k rpm…..and it went fast still 😳
@@Mr_OoOsH for sure. It was fustraiting because i can see the shear potential of this thing! Should have went open loop on boost, somtimes if ya spend too much time on dyno chacing pid the real road will overshoot it massivley with the diffrent loads. Awsome job through!!

I went to Elvington a week later and that’s a mile run so we did a lot of closed loop and sorted it out but now we’re putting better clutches in the haldex, HST cams and some more boost, the car makes the 1042 on just e40 too

A little thing like contact patches on the road, about a credit card on the rear of the R1 and massively more on the 4 tyres on Audi. How much has been spent, the R1 is not that far off stock

That's a mad built A3 but I honestly thought the R1 would do him which it did. That said, defo some tuning issues and when he got the formula right and it played ball, he handed it to the R1 in that second drag!

Bikes will always be slower from a dig then a car because a bike cant be launched the way a car launches . The real place where the bike shines are the roll races and we saw the r1 decimating the a3
@@farazmuddasir9221 yes Jack have me a gappin worth a fappin but I’ll be back to show just how quick the car is and I don’t think he would get me on a roll next time, our 100-200 times were pretty close so it doesn’t need much improvement, when I go back I’m going to take my own bike and a pro rider and see how that goes 👌🏼
@@Mr_OoOsH jack is on the heavy side due to whcih the power to weight ratio was off . Had it been a 60,70 kg rider on the bike he would have gapped u even more on the roll . Drag no questions asked ur gonna do him everysingle time . If jack switches up for a lighter rider with the same experience i reckon hes gonna do u again even after u get ur tune all fixed up because the bikes power to weight ratio is wuite better then ur car

We didn’t launch with boost because it was untested and not even tuned for the road we didn’t do any closed loop tuning before this day.
I love the ride btw, very nice. I had vr6 on nitrous, was going to turbo eventually but stuff happens. R888r should definitely help, cant wait to see it again once you get it dialed in. @@Mr_OoOsH

Great battle again! Maybe dsg problem at a3 or boost cut? But a suggestion to bike rider the times the r1 does isn't good. Maybe needs to search it more lower it and better tyres its a shame the bike does 10 middle and can do easily 9 secs.
The bike is running Pilot Sport 6 tires (touring tires) and isn't being launched hard off the line which is costing a lot of time.
@@LeeXRV needs to lower it, its like stock and worse its lap times.

Very interesting. The audi appeared seriously traction limited on the roll race where the bike was peak efficiency and deployed full power snd beat him. Then in the standing start the bike was well tricky to safely get going on that surface and the one good launch on the Audi deployed much more power to the runway and he was untouchable. Such a variety of things going on with this comparison between these two motors on this particular surface as it appears dusty and challenging for grip. Great stuff.

Having a build cost is vital in these vs races. To lose by 1/2 a car length but only spending half the money is a win in its self.
