I also seriously considered going into ATP training after starting PPL training I loved it so much. Same problem...nobody has $80,000 just hanging around, and would have to stop working to be able to focus on it, so 80k plus housing, living, student debt from my original college degree. There was just no reasonable plan that would make that possible, and it was very challenging to even stay focused and make consistent progress on PPL training around my existing work schedule, so it is a dream on indefinite ground hold. The industry needs better sponsorship programs to subsidize the training in exchange for contracts to work for them upon successful completion. I think it is very difficult to impossible to get any significant financial loans with the high cost, high risk of un or under employment upon graduation, especially if someone is into their 30's and still has student debt to pay off, as is the case for most people in their late 20's/early 30's.

My training has been delayed due to lack of funds. I think Mentour Pilot should come up with a group which will award scholarship s to students with the help of your sponsors. I really love the passion Mentour has for flying but I bet my passion is more than his, unfortunately No funds
Over $92,000 for a 16 month long training program? That's like more than $5,750 per month. Ridiculous! Even a senior captain with 20 years experience can only expect 75k to 90k a year tops working for a major airline. If it's that good a program, any lender would jump at the chance to finance 80% or more of the cost. All that training, money, and time invested for so little return simply is a poor investment, especially considering that a glitch in one's health could end it all. Damnit Jim, I'm a doctor, not your private bank!
What about "show stoppers" of a flight career (aside from the medical test somebody may not comply). I can understand that you maybe have only have a few attempts to successfully do the ATC exam. So what are the possible obstacles that you can not try over and over again subsequently end a flight training without a diploma?

And I understand that you hear the same tings about the cockpit..although everything is very easy to understand when you learn the "flow" of buttons. ok to my quenstion..are you more understanding of a music mixer than the kalle-banan-på-stan just becouse you already have the "flow" in your spine?

Can I attend flight school even if I have a full time job? Is there some kind of a programme that allows you to do all the required things in school in modules for example? I realize that if ther is a possibility to do so, it would be very hard and demanding and of course you probably wouldn't be able to finish school in the usual 16 months or so.

83k?! That is shameless. No wonder they get a lot of people in their 30s, they had to go and earn that money in a different career first! This can’t be a path for the young people. If your parents can’t help you, you are completely screwed. Are there no free schemes at all? Scholarships? Programs, where the airline pays and you have to work for them for a number of years? As an American, I used to believe that the problems with the high costs of education beyond high (secondary) school were limited to the United States. I was discouraged to learn that these problems also occurred in Europe, or at least western Europe. Maybe this is one reason for the rise of populism in the U.S. and Europe. Many people are getting fed up with the status quo. It would behoove those in political and economic power to make positive changes that benefit the majority of the people.
Not a fan of these programs. They take the joy and experience out of flying and there are so many experiences that you no longer get. It becomes extremely intense training that I think a relatively few people have the capacity for just to get into an airliner. I see my potential career remaining in general aviation.
I believe it is protocol for takeoff and landing approach to allow them to be able to assess surroundings and conditions outside the aircraft in the event of an emergency.
I've applied for over 20 pilot training scholarships but all to no avail. I'm now in a flight school and my parents are really doing their best but their best is not enough, they've been able to cover my PPL Ground school and can't continue. Please help if you can.
Considering that terrestrial weather systems tend to be on the order of tens to a few hundred miles in diameter 600 mi/h is more than enough to easily pass through entire systems in a matter of minutes so yeah things are sure going to change fast heh. Granted there certainly are weather systems that can grow far larger though since these are generally in the form of severe polar or tropical cyclones which is pretty much no fly weather at least unless you happen to have the balls of steel required to take on the job of flying hurricane research flights heh. Dunno about anyone else but for me personally these sorts of weather systems are definitively in the nope, nope, nope category especially since I've only ever flown light aircraft that I would rather not even chance approaching a light thunderstorm with let alone anything bigger, much rather be late and alive than on time and dead when it comes to severe weather heh.

I even worked at a theme park operating rides, which obviously is similar to flying passenger aircraft, due to having the lives of your passengers in your hands, and my boss said i was one of the best operators he had ever encountered
Im good at literally anything i do, i dont get into habits, i dont get lazy, I'm always on the ball
Im a native English speaker, i use radio communications a lot
What is the chance i could fly the 737 in your opinion?
Nice ty Petter
Hi Mentour pilot i want to ask you, where did you do your training?
Great video. Very helpful!
Hello thanks for the great videos 👍 have a nice night
You to!! Thanks for watching!
I’m the 200 th person to like your video:) thanks a lot Mentor Pilot and the speaker:)
Thank you! I’ll send your regards!
Mentour Pilot sure thanks again:)
Maybe statistics show very different results. I have seen results which show that a senior captain can earn well over 100k a year in the USA.
@@mikep9604 you mean $450k for Qantas A380 captains :)
@@captaindasbomb6862 - I think we can agree that this amount is well over 100k. :)
That’s an Irish accent 👌🏽
What about "show stoppers" of a flight career (aside from the medical test somebody may not comply). I can understand that you maybe have only have a few attempts to successfully do the ATC exam. So what are the possible obstacles that you can not try over and over again subsequently end a flight training without a diploma?
Rynair, the best airline to work for. They guarantee days off a year for unplanned strikes as they know they will happen.
You made a great video. Thanks.
Great video DA62...Diesel or Lycoming Flew the DA20 Rotax 100hp not much power but very stable A/C easy to fly Logged grand total (1) looks as though the only flying for me my computer.....x-plane 11 if I ever get my pc back up and Running...Crona virus...wont slow down...sucks !! again nice live U AND Blanco,Dutch girl AND Mickey,,,,All the best
And Further Remember SAS MD82 Lost both engines on take off Arlanda airport.....landing in afield dead of winter all survived..!!.....God was with them and the skill of those pilots kept their cool all they in that field....Petra..best of luck bless All
we will survive this pamdemic...keep the faith
I have a question that isn´t really a flying question.
I am an trained soundengineer and I always hear people say that they are "afraid" of the mixer that we use in live situations becouse there are like 1000 different buttons and people don´t understand how we know what button to push or rotate. And I understand that you hear the same tings about the cockpit..although everything is very easy to understand when you learn the "flow" of buttons.
ok to my quenstion..are you more understanding of a music mixer than the kalle-banan-på-stan just becouse you already have the "flow" in your spine?
What about an interview with an academy about people just wanting to get a PPL for private flying?
Amazing videos
No 12 on the comments... I love your videos mentour...
All the way from South Africa.. a heart for SA?
I really wish if I could join this Academy and get my LICENSE 😔
Cool
note the heavy old school wrist watch :)
@Mentour Pilot you have told us that you have a premium subscription in the Mentour aviation app. I have an Iphone 7 and I have not found the place to subscribe to the premium features.
Where do you find it in the Iphone and when will it be launched?
Please respond soon
Hi!
It has already launched! You can find the premium subscription if you go to SETTINGS in the app! Enjoy!
#1 Tip for flight training: Learn EVERYTHING on the ground. Then the airplane will be much more fun. This will also save you TONS of money :)
Is there is any flying clubs using electric powered aircraft for training ?
@@bennithomas8414 There's probably at least 3, but Electric airplanes have not caught on yet.
Hello Mentour Pilot,
Love your videos.
How do large planes turn and maneuver around the tarmac?
Rudder pedals. Steering on ground with nose gear.
When they have push out of parking spot its a tow truck tug. Planes cannot back up on their own. There's no reverse
Or rear view mirror.
this was very good!
I have one question. Whats the process of becoming a civilian pilot if you have a military background in fling?
I have 5000hours as a fighter pilot and thinking about shifting
on what aircrafts ?
@@kilroywas-here7250 Mig-29 and Mig-21
Can I attend flight school even if I have a full time job? Is there some kind of a programme that allows you to do all the required things in school in modules for example? I realize that if ther is a possibility to do so, it would be very hard and demanding and of course you probably wouldn't be able to finish school in the usual 16 months or so.
It’s so weird how different it is in Europe compared to the U.S in terms of flight training. Crazy how green some of those F/O’s are coming in.
200hrs to FO seat for most of the airline sponsored programs...
antimonni yes 200 hours is barely any experience especially to then jump into something much faster like a 737 or 320.
@@SidestickPilot true but they also have a lot of simulator training and type rating related stuff (at least in the MPL pathway)
@@antimonni its a tad crazy hey. In Australia you will have to do time in the turbo props or Fokker 100 if lucky a cruise pilot in long hauls a 2nd Officer
@@captaindasbomb6862 yeah...afaik the MPL guys haven't even been in a real A320 before finishing their course with 5 real landings and off to line training straight from there 😳
My question is what are examples of the highest level of career one can achieve without ATPL?
Just finished my FAA training in 8 month. If you want to get it faster than in EU, go to USA.
@D Pat i am getting my job now, type raiting soon...
@D Pat i am not an us citizen, i am from Kazakhstan. I paid my own money, about 45000 us dollars. And our airlines acept pilots with 250 or more...
@D Pat i told you i am not us citizen. Airline is the Air Astana in Kazakhstan, i just have got my flight training in usa...
@D Pat hope i will fly air bus 321 neo. As company is going to reduce boeing quantity to 0...
What happens if a military pilot who's already had significant experience wants to become an airline pilot? Is there any shortcut for him/her?
I think you have to take the 14 ATPL subjects and do your CPL but I'm not sure
@@nehneh0073 you are correct.& your flight time gets carried over so you don't have frozen ATPL till 2500hrs depending on country. But some airlines insist on flight time based on MTOW of greater than 20 tonnes(50 tonnes if direct entry captain) which gets tricky if you flew smaller fighter jets
Came early today💪
At least in Russia there is an option of the free government flying schools, if you’ve got good enough grades, even if the private school gives you better employment chances.
If they fail to do this, these changes may be made for them.
As an add on to finances, what extra time is available and what jobs do trainee pilots do to finance things such as rent etc?
A Russian plane fall due to bird strike a twin-engine failure made crash-landed safely in a form fields Boeing flight I have already asked about this in your live stream you have not answered is there any way to recover this has happened before Captain Sullenberger how pilot tries to save passengers mentour please answer this
Can you rephrase the question?
@@MentourPilot in Russia a plane has fallen from the sky due to bird strike both the engine failure the scenario was happened previously in Hudson crash if the same scenario you have faced how will you solve this issue and land safely one complication is minimal altitude left
Good video , but haven't Ryanair got too many pilots already ? They just announced 900 job cuts pilots and cabin crew sadly.
Pauly H that’s because the 737 MAX is grounded unfortunately. I’m sure that it will come into service eventually once Boeing get their sh*t together.
Captain Mentour Pilot could you tell me the accuracy of flying on Instruments alone ? I thought it was -5 degrees or 5+ degrees from intended heading but now I am being told it is -1 degrees or +1 degrees many of my friends have failed through this Sir ?
Not a fan of these programs. They take the joy and experience out of flying and there are so many experiences that you no longer get. It becomes extremely intense training that I think a relatively few people have the capacity for just to get into an airliner. I see my potential career remaining in general aviation.
Hi!
Last time i flew the cabincrew asked the passengers to pull up the sunscreens in the windows, for what reason is that needed?
I believe it is protocol for takeoff and landing approach to allow them to be able to assess surroundings and conditions outside the aircraft in the event of an emergency.
HDR Engine Development aha oki, i have flewn alot but never heard of it.
besides having money, what skill should the pilot have?
I've applied for over 20 pilot training scholarships but all to no avail. I'm now in a flight school and my parents are really doing their best but their best is not enough, they've been able to cover my PPL Ground school and can't continue. Please help if you can.
Hey Mentour, do you think that climate change will have serious effects on future aviation growth. And so demand for new pilots?
Aviation has only 1% in global warming process
евграф ломов you’re chatting smack.
Gutted I can't get a class one medical because this has sold me, going to have to do it on the railways instead
Sorry to hear that...
@@MentourPilot cheers petter. Its not all bad. Ive applied to be a coach/trainer for my current role because of you and plan on brining in things like CRM and memory muscle for emergency situations which wasnt trained to me but learnt through your videos

What will brexit do to the permission to fly in europe in general as a uk based pilot?
We don’t really know yet unfortunately. Most likely it won’t change much in the long-term.
Any variation in training for flying Cargo?
Will you recommend AFTA to anyone?
Im going to start my training in januari next year and Im just wondering. What can I expect to be the most challening? I know that this is very individual but I mean do you see anything specific many students struggle with?
I've listen to some people say that meteorology is a bit challenging in comparison to other subjects.

Anyone notice how the MCP altitude is set to 50,000
Boeing simulated MCPs sometimes have a fault where they ramp up to 50000 on their own.
I thought easyjet was the biggest European airline. Was i wrong?🤔
Yes, you are wrong, Easyjet is "just" the biggest UK company...Ryanair is the biggest European company, and the 5th world company.
