My favourite is the the hidden switch that opens up a trapdoor and sends the passenger in seat 48 plummeting out of the aircraft if they become too annoying.
They need an ejector seat like F15 has.
Adios passenger Escobar. 😁
Ejecto seato cuz
mine is the escape hatch or window so if the spirit passengers get to loud i can just jump out
I'm distracted by that adorable puppy 🤦🏻♀️❤
Maybe it could create his own channel, Flying Dog 😂
dont look then

@@MishutkAviation they have that logo before some animes and when the Japanese say it it sounds like Frying Dog lol

I know one cool switch... The one that turns on the Air Conditioner 😅😎💯
Technically the truth
Wow very good
Ba dum tss... :D :D
felobatir moheb More like physically
"one cool switch... Air Conditioner" ==> {groan} {smh} ===> NO. Just NO. Tototally, _completely_ _N_ _O_ _!_
The coolest thing is how much your dog shrank! Aging in reverse!
Reverse thrust in action
😂🤣😂
What breed is That? Thanks!
Shane Euston pardoxadogalas
Washed it and it shrank.
That siren is a much better response than a voice announcement saying "I'm sorry. I can't let you do that, Petter"
“You can’t hear words on a page.”
I direct you to this comment, sir!
Lol

Cute. No no no. Don't touch.
I had to watch this video twice. First time I could only watch the puppy and heard nothing you said. The second time I really had to force myself to listen to what you were saying while still watching the puppy. Well worth the time :)
i just want to say good luck. were all counting on you

OMG THAT PUPPY IS SO ADORABLE. GIVE ME
Noah Turner it looks like a little teddy bear¡
Your husky looks exactly like my Husky-Saluki mix (rescue dog)
He's so calm and quiet for a small dog. Almost cat-like.
I was paying attention to the puppy more than Mentour. LOL 😄😄 Puppy is soooo cute. I want him. ❤❤❤

I thought reverse thrust lever was going to be on the list for sure.
That would be my choice!
It’s just pulling the thrust lever more back.
Same here!
@@letsgamingyt1 Nope. Well, not entirely. If you were referring to an A320 you would be partially correct but you would have to lift the reverse thrust switches first and *then* pull the thrust levers back to achieve and modulate reverse thrust.
On the 737 the thrust levers are set to 0 then the reverse thrust levers are pulled up to achieve reverse thrust. Unlike on the A320 the 737's reverse thrust levers are used to modulate reverse thrust.
Beta mode on a turboprop is much more satisfying. (prop angle is reversed and makes a great sound)
My plane only grosses about 3 1/2 tons, but you're right about loving takeoffs. Hadn't thought much about it, but the sound of the engines developing all that horsepower and feeling the speed increase above 100 knots across the ground is a great feeling, as is rotating and feeling her take that first bite of the sky - yeah, I love it!!!
Can the speed brakes be used to do "drifts" around corners? :-) "Fast and Furious 27 - Heathrow Drift."
Nice
😅
😂😂😂
I had this discussion with a friend and the conclusion we came to was that no, it is extremely hard or impossible to drift an aircraft as it will have a tendency to understeer since there are way more wheels on the main gear than the nose gear so the front will lose traction way before the rear. :(
Bro Ryanair doesn't fly to Heathrow
15:43 Should I be delighted or terrified when my pilot starts quoting Airplane?
Late to this particular party, I think I've seen this video before, but the quote must have flown by me the first time. So I'll post on the second go around... Surely you should be delighted!
@@bobd2659 He is delighted. And don't call him Shirley.
Delighted, for sure.
I find it amazing that I can still learn something new even when Mentour is reviewing buttons he likes :)
I love your reference to "Airplane!" "We're all counting on you"... HAHA!
I love when he discusses the ground lights and uses physical memory (clicking the switches) to remember the order.
16:10 Mentour: "...this big 65 tons beast..."
Antonov Mryia pilots: "Awwwwww cute!"
An-225 laughs in 6 engines
@Radif How can you even compare a medium sized passenger aircraft and a superheavy freighter?! It's like comparing a normal car and a quarry truck and complaining that it is too slow and cannot fit on the road 🤦♂️🤦♂️
@@mihan2d it's no comparison it's a joke...
Future B777X pilots whose engines are larger than the 737's hull:
Your new first officer seems more interested in what you have to say than the one that keeps wandering off as you talk. Too cute 🐶
Coolest switch is an upgrade to 1st a class seat.
The 'Party Bus' switch!
Súper cool Rob Albert...I had a súper súper one when no a flight San Francisco to Sydney I was allowed in the cabin and sat on the stewardess seat and the pilot showed me some of the levers and other

What do you do when you are bored in the cockpit?
Play with the landing light switches!!
Talk to my FO
How about spinning the landing gear lever wheel? 😈
i think you never get bored its exciting and interresting
Push all the buttons
Also consider playing around with the yoke while in autopilot
I love the Airplane reference Mentour! “I want to wish you good luck, we’re all counting on you!” Haha. Surely you can’t be serious... I am serious and don’t call me Shirley! 😂
And there was me expecting the cabin attendant one because it can mean COFFEE lol
My train doesn't move until I've had a coffee so the rest are irrelevant until then lol
"I just want to wish you good luck. We're all counting on you."
I guess I picked the wrong day to stop sniffing glue.
These people get it 😂
I just want to wish you good luck. We're all counting on you.
It's an entirely different kind of flying. All together!
Has MentourPilot ever done any videos on aviation movies such as "Airplane!"?
I love the way you convey the enthusiasm of flying
My favorite switche in the UH-60L Blackhawk was sling load emergency release as it would fire something similar to a shotgun shell that drove a piston to shear the cargo hook pin in the event the load started to uncontrollably oscillate or there was an emergency with the aircraft.
You could do it from the cockpit or with a handheld pistol grip from the crew chief who would be monitoring the load through a hold in the floor.
Wow. That's cool. Is it Just Like: bang, load's gone?
@@Rundumsfliegen Yes it's that fast, much better to lose a load than the aircraft and crew so the response is immediate. Very rare occurrence though. The squibs that fire the shear mechanism almost always expire and are replaced before they're ever used. But it's still got probably the single coolest function on the aircraft. The manual stabilator control switch is probably second. It allows you to raise and lower the stabilator on the tail in the event the automatic system fails.
And you would do this whenever it only in an emergency cause it sounds like fun
@@dragonmaid1360 yes it is an emergency use only as it does do damage to the cargo hook and the owners of whatever you are carrying would be somewhat upset if you punched their cargo loose at altitude. Under normal circumstances you would just use an electric release mechanism. I believe that newer model hooks feature redundant electric actuators rather than a cartridge based back up.
I got to watch a UH-60A jettison an M102 105mm howitzer in Hawaii.
We have a major distraction in the cockpit today... what a cutie!
It is amazing to hear a real pilot quote "Airplane!" :D
I saw an interview with the cast of "Airplane!" and they said they were a little nervous flying after the movie came out because they weren't sure the air crews would appreciate being spoofed. But, they said the air crews loved them! Leslie Nielson said he used to stick his head in the cockpit door and say the "we're all counting on you" line.🤣
Very nice
That is the cutest little puppy dog I really enjoy your Channel keep up the good work👍👍
15:37 That "autopilot off" audible alarm might be the coolest cockpit sound.
I hadn't been on an airplane since 2012 and just recently found this channel after watching a few small-craft aviation channels. I've never been a nervous flyer and always have been a huge nerd so watching these technical explanations before finally taking a cross-country flight for work last week made it that much more fun. I requested wing-seats for all of my flights so I could watch everything going on with the wings and I'm quite excited to fly again, American airport-security being a small price to pay for such engagement.
IMHO the coolest levers are (drum roll): the thrust levers. I can't imagine how cool should be the sequence of turn on the taxi lights, release parking brake, apply a bit of thrust and feel how that over-60 tons colossus slowly start moving at your command. Oh guys, that must be powerfully sexy!
Ahh! That puppy is so cute. He steals the show.
I love you explanation of why the speed brake lever, "It's just a cool lever" I have operated heavy equipment all my life, mostly very large drilling rigs, I always had my favorite cool levers, sometimes because of how they are made or look, sometimes because what they do. It's hard to explain but some levers are just cool !!! Hahaha
Love the Leslie Nielsen "Airplane!" reference! :)
Must be a satisfying feeling to reverse thrust right after a smooth touchdown
All sorts of thoughts and feelings come into my head between that comment and that thumbnail.
When landing i love the sound of thrust reversers assisting in decelerating just like when spooling up at take off. Its exhilirating.
ALL of your puppies are super well behaved!! And so adorable to watch!
LOVED the Airplane! reference!
Best switch is the Puppy Tail Wagging Switch because of 100% CUTENESS.
💯💯true
It's very very cute 😍😘
I hope I could touch it really
I always thought the thrust levers were the coolest. There is nothing cooler than the sound of jet engines spooling up.
Came to the video for cool switches, left warm hearted watching this cute puppy!
Hey cute stuffed ani....OMG it's alive! That's a good looking puppy!
Loved this video for the content as well.
I think the coolest lever by far are the throttles. There ain't nothin' like pushing those up to the set power and hearing the roar of the turbine and the rumble of all that thrust.
Nice reference to the movie "Airplane!"
Anyone else think the fuel injection switches/ engine start switches would be number1? Hearing the engines spool up and start vibrating the plane is definitely one of the most fun parts of flying
Always liked the engine fire extinguisher bottle switches!
The coolest switch is definitely the one which is used to spray chemtrails.
@Ziclon B Do you have one to detect sarcasm?
Where’s the switch to turn off this whole comment and answers?
They mix the chemtrail fluid in the fuel. Wear a tinfoil hat to protect yourself.
Yeah, fuel injectors are awesome.
Or did you mean the dihydrogen monoxide sprayers in the lavatory? Those are pretty chill, too, I guess.
Yeah, but the chemtrail sprayer is automatic. There is no switch, so that's why it's not on the list!🤣🤣
Omg puppy squishy squeeeee! Ahem. Very informative video. With cute puppy.
Puppy says, “The ear scritch switch!” Just watching this and love seeing the pup. Hope they are all enjoying life in their forever homes!
PUPPY! AAAH! The cuteness overload!
great doggie video. he's so cool. sorry mentour, what's this video about again? I was kinda distracted by the cool looking dog.
CHEERS
cuteness alert!!! puppy on screen. :)
That puppy stole my ❤️
Your dog is so distracting! Did you talk about anything to do with aviation in this video? Cause I totally missed it. What an adorable puppy!
Cutest dog EVER i think the same w/ the lights the flap above it is so satisfying to pull
Love the info. And that puppy. Clearly you're a dog lover. Much respect. I thoroughly enjoy yoir videos!
Great video as ever. Anyone else notice the port and starboard coloured cushions on Mentour Pilot's sofa. Nice subtle touch!
Retired aircraft mechanic here, Spent over 20 years working on mods and heavy Cs. Mostly 757s, the last few years 737-800 overnight checks. I'm pretty familiar with the flight deck. I was run and taxi qualified. Fun to watch your explaining. AA was just beginning to bring in the Max. But most of those switches are the same on the 757 and 767. Got a few cool photos.
My list:
5. Fasten seatbelt switch
4. Speedbrakes lever
3. Flaps lever
2. Landing gear lever
1. Throttle levers
WHAT ABOUT THE YOKE ITSELF!?!?
Thank you very much Peter, all your videos are amazing! Keep it up!
You gave me a lot of chuckles, for letting us in the fun that you have while flying. Great job, thank you.
Love the Airplane movie reference. I had a particular liking for the fire handles when I worked on the simulators by the way, a rugged positive action and they light up.
I personally think that the yoke trim switches are also pretty nice! They really help you out when hand flying ahahah!!
I like the yoke controlling bank angle & turns. Rudders are cool. I like that steering on the ground requires no hands like a train which I've driven. The propulsion of floating speed in air is incomparable. Flight alone ascending is the joint.
"I just want to wish you good luck - we're all counting on you"
Is that a sneaky airplane reference I see there?
Yeah I was going to say the same thing. The movie was called Flying High here in Australia due to copyright or something. André
I have to agree with all these switches. Although I do like the look of the APU and engine start switches as well as the trim toggle switches. Keep up the great videos!!
Manual trim is cool but more modern jets have auto trim so you don't pay as much attention to the trim wheel as in manual flying.
OMG such cuteness !!! (and that dog is nice too!)
The coolest switches are definitely the battery and ground power switch, everything just turn on with all the lights, and it’s even better if it is at night
That sound and thud from the contactors engaging never gets old.
Well Ive only played x plane 11 but i can imagine that the lever you use when inserting the fuel is pretty satisfying
Edvin Airlines - Let us know if you ever find it ..
Petter, thank you for another video that makes understanding avionics almost simple or better stated as easier to digest. My goodness, the pups have grown soooooo much. Wish I could add one to my family. Super cute, little hairy darlings.
I love the MASTER CAUTION switch . Thanks for the video Mentour!
Two of the most adorable beings in one Mentour-video. Petter and one of Molly's and Patxi's puppies! ❤
What about Flaps 2? I've never seen it being used...
My favorite is a "fuel cut off"
The moment you bring it up, you can hear the beast under the wing roars to life, you can't beat it.
It is such a delight to watch Petter with his adorable dogs❤
"I just want to wish you good luck, We're all counting on you."
👍✈❤
I was thinking, wow did he just say that. 😂
Does anybody see that pillows like me? It s like position lights :D
I love the toga switches, but as a maintenance guy I my favorite is the engine start switch. I love hearing the moment when the fuel lights off in the engine and the turbine gives that deep roar as it goes from spin up to self-sustaining.
Love the battery switch and guard. I'm not a pilot but it must be cool flicking a single switch and the whole aircraft coming alive.
It feels like power and control. A rush sometimes.
NOO! The coolest and the most useful is the CVR ERASE button xD
😂 So true
That is the cutest puppy ever.
Indeed!
By the way the pitch trim button that make the trim wheel turn is my favourite
The coolest switch is the secret 'party mode' switch :D. It works like that birthday switch from Thor Ragnarok
Nice vid as always mentour, keep it up as always💪👍🏻
This is the kind of title clickbait that makes me immediately watch a video!
Haha! I hope you didn’t get disappointed
@@MentourPilot Don't worry, you never disappoint.
The engine start/ fuel control switches are pretty cool too!
Very interesting. You are giving best knowledge. Loving it
I think the APU switch is pretty cool
Especially in the summer!
Talking about buttons: I always wondered about the shear amount of buttons, levers, dials and displays. And lots and lots of labeling. It doesn’t really say intuitive and snappy to operate. How many of all of them do you actually utilize during every/most flights? And how do you find around? As you pointed out, the analogies between button/lever look and the thing it controls certainly helps ... but there is a forest of them 😳
Well there are multiple engines so each gauge is for each engine. So it looks more foreboding than it really is. In the C141 cockpit the test fire t handle is fantastic. On training missions the instructor pulls it behind your back and a whole bunch of bells & lights go on at once & you have to sort which engine of 4 is flaming out or on fire. When you watch your colleagues getting flustered and panicking you laugh until its your turn.
I like the sound of the «Starter cut out» nice firm click.
Just discovered your channel and it's answering everything I didn't know I needed to know.
I like this list but maybe #6 would be the fasten seat belt switch. What other time are you able to flip a switch and get 180 people to do exactly as you say, like herding cattle?
you can shout "brace brace" into the PA to achieve the same thing
@@eternalflame7177 brace brace is a crash alarm. and that is safety
@@martintheiss743 or you could announce "buckle up were gonna see what this puppy can do" LOL
Hi! Love your videos! I have a keen interest in aviation and after watching some of your videos I wonder, is there a fail safe system on aircraft which stops gear, flaps etc. from being extended or retracted if exceeding limitations? ~ Greg
there are inputs that tells the pilot flying things are wrong
No, there is no overspeed protection for the gear. The flaps will automatically move to the next higher position, but after that, no protection.
I love the puppy squirming around the entire time. A comical distractions of sorts.
Landing lights switches and cabin crew "Ding Dong" I love the most . . When I fly in level D, do it quite more times 😀 . . Else I love the most is "Strobe" . . You just feel blinks on your sides, 😍
About the Speedbrakes and flying the plane in a smooth way, I'm curious: One of the guys in the group I'm playing DCS with is a Airbus pilot and he mentioned that after a weekend of gaming the first turn after takeoff he flew the A320 a bit like the F/A-18 in game - to the point where the pilot monitoring told him to take it easy. So I'm wondering: Is there a noticable difference between pilots with a military background and pilots who only have hours as civilian pilots in the way they fly? Especially when they begin line training.
I'm not Mentour, but it's like putting a rally driver in a bus driver roll. It's a different job and requires different handling. By the time the ex military pilot reaches line training he should already be able to perform such turns the way he should :)
I would say the coolest switch is the Air conditioning switch 😂
I knew it! I absolutely love the AP Disc switch. I even have the disconnect alarm as my phone notification sound
I'd say my favorites (in no order) are the stall warning test, overspeed warning test, GPWS test, the EFIS FPL button, and the engine ignition switches. Solenoid switches are always fun 😁
1 &2 DC bus circuit breakers work too.
Seat belt switch always put a smile on my face...
Great one
It's official this is a dictatorship LOL

Keep Brexit out of this.
I would not set a foot on a plane that is not a dictatorship. :D

Also speedbrake lever is awesome when you land. That whining sound on touchdown is awesome
You have the best intro. Nothing beats a turbofan spooling up!
