How To Feather The Edges Of An Image In Illustrator

In this tutorial we'll be going over how to use Adobe Illustrator to feather the edges of an image. This is accomplished using radial gradients and layer masking via the Transparency menu.

Thanks for pointing out about "getting out of the mask mode". Other tutorials did not mention leaving the mask mode. I'm new to illustrator and the loss of the rest of the layers was very novel really frustrating. So easy to fix and obvious once it's pointed out. Cheers!

When I make the artboard any colour and I do it, then it works perfectly. As soon as I use a photo, then the Final step. where the transparency comes, it stays whiter.@@DesignMadeSimple
