How To Feather The Edges Of An Image In Illustrator

  • In this tutorial we'll be going over how to use Adobe Illustrator to feather the edges of an image. This is accomplished using radial gradients and layer masking via the Transparency menu.

    Thanks for pointing out about "getting out of the mask mode". Other tutorials did not mention leaving the mask mode. I'm new to illustrator and the loss of the rest of the layers was very novel really frustrating. So easy to fix and obvious once it's pointed out. Cheers!

    Is there a a way to do a square or rectangle radial so that it retains the edging of a photos?

    i cant find the thumbnail thing when I'm in the transparency part

    Hi.. Doing step by step, but does not do it. When I place in place, my background stays white. No mask

      It sounds like you might not have the image selected

      Followed step by step. When you place the cut radiant and the picture appears. mine is just white.@@DesignMadeSimple

      When I make the artboard any colour and I do it, then it works perfectly. As soon as I use a photo, then the Final step. where the transparency comes, it stays whiter.@@DesignMadeSimple

    iam going to flip my table... WHY i still have visible the corners of the photo... its bour but i still seee all photo... ☠️☠️☠️☠️ why?
