  • Today we dive into one of my favorite aspects about playing the Pokemon Trading Card Game: SLEEVES. With so many different kinds of card sleeves out there, it’s difficult to find the ones that are “just right” for your Pokemon cards! For me? I’ve gravitated towards Dragon Shield sleeves since I was a kid. They last forever when playing any card game!

    I feel the older sets such as BW and SuMo's sleeves feel much better compared to the SwSh sleeves, cuz they do stick, and the older ones were more slicker so you wouldnt get cards stuck

      I’ve been using Guardians Rising sleeves for all of my recent pulls. So much better and easier to put them in, plus the gloss is noticeable when looking at the luster of the holo foil patterns.

    DRAGON SHIELD DUAL MATTES! They have everything I need: can fit Perfect Hards comfortably without difficulty, smooth to operate out of the box.
    As for ETB sleeves, I like the backgrounds (silver or gold) and I like that they are roomy- can fit a double sleeved Perfect Hard, though not the best fitting experience. Double sleeving the ETB sleeves helps a bit (I think) with shuffling. They are definitely too roomy and thin though so the side and corner wear really sucks.

      Dragon Shields are so good!
      I’m over the new matte ETB sleeves. Even putting in cards using the Brilliant Stars gold backed sleeves was scary, and it had very little give and almost felt as if I was close to bending the cards. Almost had to jam them in, haha

    Can you use Pokémon sleeves at a tournament? I’m new and haven’t seen anyone playing using the Pokémon branded sleeve

    • @THEERebelRouser
      @THEERebelRouser  Год назад +1

      You can. But with the print, they can get easily damaged and you’ll have to replace them. Since Pokémon doesn’t really give you extras, it can raise the chances of being called out for “marked cards.”

    You must have played a lot of solo games to get that kind of wear on your sleeves - I run a single strike tyranitar deck, it’s not meta but it can still compete with all the v-max decks out there

    • @THEERebelRouser
      @THEERebelRouser  3 года назад +1

      Not too much, actually, I do acknowledge that a lot of the corners got wrecked through mash-shuffling. But, since most kids would shuffle in this manner, it’s definitely something I wanted to address to parents out there.

    hi i just started playing tcg and i wanted to know if do you double sleege them with a penny sleeve and a playing card sleeves

    • @THEERebelRouser
      @THEERebelRouser  8 месяцев назад

      Not penny sleeves. I have the specific sleeves linked in the description (Perfect Fit.) These sleeves fit the card snuggly, so there’s only mm sized gaps, so it could slide into the playing sleeve perfectly.

      @@THEERebelRouser I see. I wanted to know if you actually double sleeve them because from what I saw they say its not actually worth it especially if youre playing the cards since its gonna be more thick or something but I wanted to know if its really better or worse

      It’s a toss up between these and KMC Hyper Mattes! But there’s just something about the rigidness of Dragon Shields that I can’t escape.

    How long do the dragon shield greens last

    • @THEERebelRouser
      @THEERebelRouser  2 года назад +1

      Local tournament wise: I’ve had them last for multiple tournaments at a time. Even a larger regional tournament, I’ve had them last without needing to change out a sleeve for potentially being seen as a “marked card.” Whereas I’ve had used Eclipse sleeves which had a few sleeves need to be changed out after 2-3 rounds.
      YMMV depending on shuffling style. Mash-shuffling gives you a higher chance of corners looking marked. Riffle-shuffling has its own level of wears.
      But overall: Depending on your play style, they should last you longer than most sleeves on the market!
      I do know people like the lighter colored sleeves so that if they get scraped or marked on the back of the sleeve, it doesn’t show up. I haven’t seen any markings with the purple ones. But green shouldn’t be too different.

    Do i double sleeve?

    • @THEERebelRouser
      @THEERebelRouser  2 года назад

      Double sleeving helps if you don’t want to overly bend your cards. Through my season of playing with double sleeved cards, I didn’t notice any warping. Granted: I didn’t do deep riffle shuffles, but I still riffle shuffled, but my cards didn’t go into scorpion mode.
