Just want to say thanks for covering this issue. For beginner to intermediate players, this topic is a dark art that you stumble your way through and never quite feel you've got it right. This confirmed some thoughts I've had, and clarified some other issues I have been wondering about.
I feel like I am the only human to not like dragon shields. They’re slippery in an odd way, there is a lot of extra sleeve above the card so the corners get bent, and if you don’t riffle(I do) then the corners feel awful. I do prefer how they make the holos appear and how they don’t accumulate grime on the front, but I feel like there is room for improvement.
Dragon shields are great but after a while the dual matte ones have the old ultra pro eclipse feel it’s super chalky unlike regular matte sleeves I play a lot like 3-4 times a week so I’m constantly shuffling so they get chalky before the first month is over
I think it'd be good to do a video with ultimate guard products included in the next one. Personally, I've never been a DS matte guy, but Katanas have become my recent favorite
I have heard Katanas are the most durable, they don't even break after stretching them and have the best shuffle feel. This is from Tolarian Community College. What are your thoughts?
Dragonshield makes the best sleeves hand down. I don't play too often so a pack lasts a year for me. Shuffles easily and still stays smooth after months. I do agree with the clicks sounding from mash shuffling. That's a little annoying
@Celio's Network can you use other license sleeves in tournaments? Ex. Street Fighter sleeves, My Hero Sleeves. The back shows that has its own CCG and the Jasco brand shows. They are made by Dragonshield
Hey celio, i know its off topic to the video but i just picked up leafeon inteleon and noticed the mirror match feels impossible if you go second unless they completely whiff, is there any single card of specific tech i can encorporate into my deck in order to make the mirror favourable regardless of if you go first or not
Ultra Pro Eclipse are my favourite sleeves. But I play with all reverse holos so the matte front sucked. I exclusively use Ultimate Guard Katana sleeves now. I hate the extra height on the Dragon Shield Sleeves.
Ultra pro are meant to be cheap but effective dragon shield are amazing for protection however are extremely thick sleeves its preference if you want a nice medium maybe try katana sleeves
I absolutely detest Eclipse sleeves. They feel great right out of the pack and their shuffle feel is great for a little while, but they gum up really quickly and their shuffle feel deteriorates to just being piss poor. If I had to buy Ultra Pro sleeves to play, I'd be getting regular Ultra Pro PRO-Mattes. My experience with the Dragon Shield Dual Mattes is that they are more like the Eclipses in terms of longevity of good shuffle feel. And maybe this is a QC issue with early batches, but they split like no other. Way worse than regular DS Mattes and Eclipses both. Hopefully that's an issue that's resolved soon. I love Dragon Shield Mattes and I hope that the Dual Mattes can get up to that level.

I had red ones and they split on me and I didn't even use them that much plus they didn't shuffle very good

I started out using various Ultra Pro sleeves, but once I tried Dragonshield, I could never go back.
It was the opposite for me.

Video suggestion: How do you store your competetive cards efficiently?
This is a really good video. I feel like you covered all the points in a very smart way. I can tell you're an intelligent person.
New Ultra Pro Apex sleeves coming out soon. Hopefully they are a little thicker than their Eclipse sleeves.

I bought the dual matte dragon shields i dont like them at all the standard matte are mutch better.
Great video, really informative for newer players like myself.

Is there a reason why you don't double sleeve them especially as dragon shield has these sealable inner foils?
Double Sleeving makes it harder / awkward to shuffle
@@CeliosNetwork and you’re not worried that something could happen to your cards as they have an easy accessible opening?
Nope the cards are mostly cheap and I’d rather a card get damaged instead of risking poor randomization.

Have you tried the Gamegenic Matte's?
You shouldn't riffle your opponent's cards, it's already enough to damage them. Great vid otherwise
Totally biased …
