EDIT: Physics video on flaps would be awesome. "Poor turn" and "good flaps" seem to be contradictory, although I can see the Spitfires easily having the opposite description so I think maybe "strong flaps"(durability and/or low speed lift boost(?)) or "quick flaps" may be better future descriptions.

Flap video is on my list! When I talk about turn in the pros and cons, it's without flaps. And when I talk about flaps it's how much they increase turn and their speed limits.

That's my issue. I have no problem with pre-mades, but I prefer actually building the plane. If they had construction models I'd definitely buy one.

Impressive fight, dealing with so many enemies at the same time.
You've been flying at 105% throttle. Full WEP is 110% but a red "WEP" appears above 102% throttle so it can be misleading.
Difference in actual horsepower with throttle between 102-110% is very very small though, so you probably had only ~1hp less than normal. Still, it's inefficient ;)
Overlay made by "Overlay Guy" is pretty and I like it.
However, i think WTRTI - War Thunder Real Time Information overlay is better. It can log data into .csv and has indicators such as "turn time" and WEP remaining" which are useful. It's also available for everyone.
Overlay Guy has a competition :P
I've checked and I really don't see a difference. On planes with WEP, it's either on or off.

@@AdamTheEnginerd Yes, that's what i meant by saying that varying between 102-110% throttle changes the power by only 1hp or so.
Basically no difference between 102% WEP and 110% WEP
the difference is pretty large with afterburning jets ive noticed, or at least with the f-4 last i tested it

The allied teams have hit rock bottom lately. I dont know what can save us. Enduring confrontation? JU288 rebalance? I'm desperate, I don't want this game to die.
If the teams were even, I think I'd be bored.

Just balance the game and rework the game modes (let's start with that).
Firstly, a lot of aircrafts, especially at low Tier and mostly Axe's ones, have weird low BR for their performances.
Next, WT devs don't seem to know what to do with bombers and attackers in Air RB, so you either have them being useless or end the match in 5 minutes.
Three or four years ago, they introduced late game groups of vehicles and give attackers/bombers who are still alive late in the match a chance to be a threat and finish it. And did a pretty good job at first. Then for no reason they nerfed this mechanic to the ground by making them appear so late they are now pretty irrelevant (because you often kill the enemy team before that) and you need to destroy a whole group to make the enemy team lose tickets. And on top of that they nerfed the amount of tickets bleed.
In fact one of the only time a bomber won against my team (fair and square on Sicily) was back then, by rushing one of those group of vehicles and destroying 2 or 3 right under my nose. I saw him (a B-17 or B-24) too late and we lost because of my lack of vigilance.
I really have no idea why they nerfed it when it was better than what we have now. Gaijin never really comment their decisions on those things which is another bad thing about them, lack of communication.
EC also gave a place for bombers where they would be more welcome.
Adam, there will always be newbies/mindless grinders and experimented players, the probability to always have balanced teams is therefore pretty low ;)

@@AdamTheEnginerd Yeah, maybe because of its role that supporting teammate in 1vs1 or getting bombers. Because of that role of heavy fighter, I think Axis heavy fighters are way useful than Allies heavy fighters.
Recommend you to play J5N1, this guy solves dilemma of Japanese players by getting low-alt bombers and attackers easily

14:16 You just pulled off a robin olds!! In ww2, Robin Olds, a famous U.S. fighter pilot, killed a german Bf-109 after he accidentally shut off his engines. He managed to pull off the only glide kill in WW2. You've pretty much done the same except you ran out of fuel when you made the kill.

4:40 J'adore voir ce genre de "lemming train". Les mecs sont 4, ont clairement l'intention d’attaquer la même cible mais reste groupé juste en dessous.
Après, à cette altitude, même en s'organisant ils auraient eu du mal mais quand je vois le combat final avec le G-6 qui avait l'air d'être assez serré je me dis que c'est sans doute leur première erreur du match. Dispersez-vous un peu les gars (sans relâcher la pression). ^^

Du coup, entre cet avion et un P-47D, tu conseillerais lequel ?
Dernièrement j’essaie le « Fakefire » mk.16 pour débloquer le Spitfire mk.5c et j’ai vraiment du mal à l’utiliser. Il est spaded mais je tombe systématiquement sur des FW 190 Doras et Ta 152.
En fait je me suis fait mouché en energy fighting contre un FW 190 A5/U2 en seulement 2 boucles à environ 380 km/h (meilleure rétention d’énergie on dirait). J’ai cru halluciné : je savais que ce FW 190 en 4,7 était pas mauvais mais qu’il gagne à la verticale contre le Fakefire ça je ne m’y attendais pas ^^

Finalement, pour débloquer le Spitfire j'ai essayé le 1er Typhoon et c'est bien plus agréable. Non seulement il a un côté nostalgique pour moi mais en plus il n'est pas trop mauvais pour du 2,7 ... après on fait face à des bf 109 F-1 et F-2 mais au moins j'ai l'impression qu'il y a moins de bombardier chez les Alliés en bas Tier (en tout cas sur mes dernières parties) ou du moins c'est plus équilibré entre Alliés et Axe à ce niveau (et pas trop de bombardiers super-rapides non plus). Et niveau grind, il n'y a pas de pénalité donc cool !
Non, P38K climb beaucoup mieux qu'un P47.
Typhoon à 2é7 est très bon! Le monde l'aime pas à cause du roulis, mais c'est vraiment son seul défaut.
I think a good solution to the ridiculous allied ground pound spam at 4.0-5.7 would be to remove the ability to configure ur plane in the first few minutes of a battle and only do it either in the hangar or after about 5 muinites. That way u could classify all ground pounders who set bombs on in hangars as attacker class aircraft and control their numbers without hurting the team as much. U might still get some people who just wait on the runway but anything right now is better that spawning in to see two people on ur team without bombs or rockets. Anyone else got problems with this theory?
Then smart pilots will load ordnance and drop after takeoff to reduce the number of attackers on their team.
Nice flying on your part as usual. The outcome of the team being annihilated in 7 minutes 80% of times is why I stopped playing this game, You are obviously showing that its possible to still squeeze impressive personal score but that is not why I que for team match in the first place, when You need to "work" for your slack every time it quickly becomes quite tedious, being as good as You are definitely slows down the boring factor by a lot ofc :P Also I love Your informative series, no more use of it for me if we speak of wt flight models but I still respect the amount of work You put into it.

Having 4 bombers every match is not enough, there'll aways be 5 people flying P-47s and P-51s with bombs and rockets

Lmao the kill feed at the beginning just shows the uselessness and stupidity of certain allied teams. There are good teems and really bad ones...
It was predictable, more than half the team were bombers or fighters with ordnance.
I once had a team that was entirely bombers/interceptors. 4 ju288 and all DO 335 with 1 HE51 which technically counts as a single engine fighter to go with my TA154.
@@adamsaffell2361 Lemme guess, the Do 335s weren't that good and didn't work together. The Ju-288s compressed into the ground and the German team still won due to the allied team all trying to turnfight the He-51. All the while crashing and team killing each other because they were fighting over the kill. Meanwhile the He-51 kills 5 enemy planes??

I once had a amazing allied team. The fighters worked together almost all players were chatting and covering we all communicated well and i think we only lost one guy on our team and stomped the axis team.
I love playing the american bf 109 because my team always disappears and I can carry, while if i play on a german team it is way less tense even though i get a decent amount of kills

P-38 (especially the LO) is amazing in simulator battles. You should try it out! Great cockpit visibility + strong armament w/out convergence + 2 engines = boom'n'zoom annihilator

@@AdamTheEnginerd quick question! Have you ever tried the F-89D? It’s a really bizarre plane that only has unguided missiles however the air versions explode near planes and I think that would be a weird one to try to figure out. What play style would you even use for it?
Used to be a great plane at 7.3, now it's 7.7 and fights significantly better enemies.
Damn dude, that was some rare footage of high altitude fight, nowdays i dont see mutch of it, looks like people dont climb anymore, especially if they got bad climb rate, or the fost of them instatly dive when an enemy is spoted low. Extremly intese fight tho, i bet it is rare even for you :)
Yeah it's rare, especially now with the 25 minute time limit.
You laugh at the bomber trying to get you, but the other day a Ju288 ripped of my rudder doing so. His teammate was very injured already and I could sit on his tail and eventually deal the killing blow, and sure, it was probably a lucky shot, but it could have been very bad for me.
Yeah miracles happen. But if the Ju288 had been a fighter, he would have easily killed me.

That probably won't happen.
If u don't have a 144Hz monitor try to use Vsync to lock fps in 60 or 75 fps (depending of your monitor). This feature will make the graphics a lot smother and give less stress to your vga and processor. No point in get a lot of fps that you monitor can't show and this option avoid tearing in image frames.
Yup been playing with Vsync shortly after I recorded this match.
@@AdamTheEnginerd i was experiencing a problem related to Discord. My fps was dropping from 180 to 30! Resolution: disable in game overlay and everything get back to normal. This is a tip for who r facing the same issue.
Interesting, I did disable overlay at the same time as Vsync. I assumed it was Vsync that made the difference.

To start positive.... that dogfight was something else man. Great performance by YOU. But !!! Full downtier was so much in your favor. I think all of them were Trops and that G6. You can clearly see how stupidly OP and easy are german planes. You had almost non fuel vs G6 with unexperienced player (i checked his stats). The difference between him and you is so big but he does not have any trouble of keeping up with you in 4.7 plane. Germans are really weirdly OP. And he tanked shots exc.... Thanks for video.

Anyways im struggling to use the K4 now that that A2D-1 got to 7.0, axis at 5.7 can finally breath, but its really a challenge, but its an headon monster with those 20mm pods, really great hunter, but not really performant maneuverability talking, so always a challenge against Spitfires and, as the video speaks, P-38K.

Yeah but I prefer only having IAS shown in the HUD so that I'm not distracted by another number, and I'll check the overlay for TAS when necessary.

yeessss the LO and J get airspawn for some reason and can outclimb evrything but re2000s and maybe 5.3 109s
Every P38 has an airspawn now. With airspawn they'll reach a higher alt than most enemies when they meet.

I have used my P-38K for years and have mastered it. I can make some fucked up maneuvers (Even out turning LF mk 9 spitfires and Yak-3's. Now with that air spawn.... oh my... it already was climbing like the lf mk 9 anyways without it XD

I’m having trouble with BnZing in the FW 190 Ds. I always seem to get caught in the enemy’s guns even with a big energy advantage
If you truly have a big energy advantage, break off a bit earlier and go vertical, and keep an eye on what the enemy does. If he pitches up to you, go even more vertical and start a spiral climb to dodge his shots until he stalls out.

American planes and their players in a nutshell: bomber spam, ground pounding fighters, attackers who try to be fighters, “how tf can anyone play this it can’t even turn”, afk players, no one climbing, the player with 200 score complaining in chat after they die, and ah yes CANT FORGET THE GANG BANGS AT THE END OF THE MATCH AFTER TRYING TO CARRY WITH 5 KILLS AND COUNTING
German players: *Gung ho’s into entire allied team and somehow comes out with 3 kills an orange wing, and possibly an oil leak if lucky* 🤫😂
It's just Axis overwhelming the Allies with superior useful plane numbers.

Every time I use a high altitude fighter such as a P-47D/N, I always have that altitude advantage, but every time I dive on an enemy, they always loop downward, so I go back up to force them back up to my altitude, and then the cycle continues. What do you do in this situation? How do you properly utilize the “boom and zoom” tactic. It’s not working for me.
Yeah you're doing the right thing. Make sure you switch targets to the enemy with the highest enemy. If you're alone against multiple enemies, they can keep doing that while others climb away, and unless your aircraft significantly outperforms them it's very tough.

Since like a month ago. All P38s (heavy fighters in general) have airspawn now.

@@martijn9568 I'd say they deserve it more than the Ta 152s at least. P-38s aren't that great, very heavy on the controls and heavy compression so they definitely need the edge to complete.
@@aerohydra3849 They climb on par or better than the P-47s and P-51 D-5 and you can turn with most 109s and the M.C. 205. It's just a plane you have get close in with and try to get into a lower speed dogfight.
And the Ta-152s definitely don't deserve the air spawn and I'm starting to think that after having flown the FW 190 A-8, that it doesn't deserve it either.
Great fights! P38 armament seems to be crap. I never flew the p38k, and I don’t like p38s in general, because when you need to fight at low altitude you are outperformed by everyone.
At 11:12 if the g6 had used 70% prop pitch he could have gotten a shot. He did not watch your Bf109 tricks video :)

You mean Manual Engine Controls (MEC)? There are already tutorials on how to use it on RUclips.
I'm slightly curious, and scared, of what you could do with the Spitfire Mk24-
I have been having quite a bit of fun with that thing. Even if it does face Jets and you religiously get targeted by fucking Horten's and 262s because you're flying God's Right Fist. Squad up with a smart P-51H and you'll have God's Left Fist as well.
From my experience anyway.

I fight 109 K4s in that thing. What are they meant to do? It's like seal clubbing but the seal is a baby and the club is a 152mm howitzer.
It's weird that the roll rate is so bad in the K. Did it not get the boosted ailerons that the L (and some J's) got in real life? IIRC, the prototype was based on an older model so maybe that's why in game?
