Great game and camera management, I like how you divide the battle up into little skirmishes that are winnable rather than a large battle where you are outnumbered five to one. The F4U is an amazing plane against the Germans, it eats FW's for breakfast. I only realized how good it was when I played it, it can surprise even an experienced FW pilot. After that I was always super careful around them in my little FWA5.

Bombers can actually be pretty helpful if they just play gunship and shoot down the Spitfires who try to attck them - but most bomber players don't even know how to use the gunners...
Man everyone hating on bomber pilots but since the ju288 the German teams have just been nerfed because now they have 1-3 less fighters per game. Which sucks for germans but makes 5.0-6.0 way more fun for allies.

Like the contrast between your serious and well thought out text and the "oof" are really funny imo. the screen could be saying "I did this to not die, this is a technique etc" and then you just hear "oof". I'm going wayy more into depth than I need to but anyways I just found it cool.
Starting from the F4U-1A, I have LOVED the Corsairs, the landing gear and flaps mean you can outturn anything that isn't japanese with the right input and airspeed, and the roll rate is just awesome. The diving ability also makes it a joy to do violent maneuvers in(something I really really disliked on the Hellcat which has no roll rate) for dodging rounds or forcing overshoots. I haven't gotten to the F4U-4B yet, but it's the next thing I'm gunning for. hopefully will have it soon, looks like fun by the way you handle it.
I love analyzing your videos! I've always enjoyed flying the 109, but lately I've wanted to fly the corsair. It's been frustrating, and I've not had a lot of luck. But then you go and post a video on the 4B! What luck! Perhaps it's fate, but I won't let you down :)

How do you fight this thing in a k4? I have about 400 matches with around 700 kills but the f4u4b, 51h and mk 9 lf (at low alts) are the only things im scared of, f4u even more so due to its roll.

GG. Comme d'habitude, Adam n'est pas aidé ^^ 5:55 mon expérience sur ce jeu in a nutshells. Du coup, maintenant je pars du principe qu'ils vont mourir quoi qu'il arrive et ne me met pas trop la pression ;) 7:07 wow, le coup du bord de carte qui te sauve (plus ou moins) deux fois dans la même partie ?! Lol Personne ne regarde (check) sa carte en situation de poursuite ou quoi :V C'est assez simple à "contrer". Beau combat à 1vs2 à la fin. Chapeau à eux, c'était pas mal du tout. La victoire leur est passé pas loin sous le nez. (Sans commentaire à propos du mec qui trash talk ses alliés mais qui au final meurt en 30 secondes sur une erreur bête : croyait-il vraiment pouvoir outclimb ou finir sa boucle contre un F4U-4 après avoir perdu autant d'énergie ?!) A chaque fois que je vois un A-8 ça me donne envie de pleurer : ça me rappelle que le A-9 n'existe pas sur ce jeu et qu'il aurait bien plus sa place en 5.0 que le A-8.
Les bords de carte ne m'ont pas sauvé, plutôt ils auraient pu permettre aux ennemis de me rattraper s'ils se positionnaient comme il le faut. Le mec dans le A8 était contre les efforts intenses de ses alliés pour me tuer haha.

Pareil pour le Dora à 17:56
The F4U-1A is a great plane to start grinding the American tech tree, the F4U-4 is a well-rounded plane that possesses good top speed, high-alt performance, and high-speed handling, but the F4U-4B is a true beast. It's an absolute Chad with a quartet of flying spaghetti monster dismantling cannons, a top of the line Double-Wasp engine, and a refusal to recognize the concept of high-speed compression. It takes your sister out for dinner and you're jealous of her.
An excellent boom and zoom aircraft. I got three kills in a single boom and zoom just recently (shot one plane down in the dive, killed another at the bottom, and killed one last one while I passed it climbing).
I agree that this is the best prop. The armament absolutely shreds enemies, and has more than enough ammo. Great speed and engine power especially at low alts, it can easily beat enemies energy fighting because of its good acceleration. The gear airbrake is absolutely genius on the inventors part. This thing also shreds jets because you can take a headon and just dip down and they cant pull the same negative Gs as you. Or if they dive on you just go really low and under their nose so that they have to pitch down more and crash or try to roll and risk crashing.

@@AdamTheEnginerd Haha, I don't think I do either. It seems so sluggish. It made me realize how much I favor fighters with good roll rate. I actually passed it by after I got it. (I am currently up to F86F-2) but my ADHD demanded I come back and spade it. :-) . I have found it a very frustrating plane. The only thing it has is speed and controls lock up when it's fast. Plus, the TA's Re.2005's and 190d's all have so much alt advantage, that even negates it's speed. Not that I want to see you suffer, but it would be cool if you played it, just to see someone maximize its (most likely limited) potential. lol
Bud Anderson said the mustang was a match for anything he flew against. It would do anything he wanted it to do. Same with the later D and M model thunderbolts. Lot of Thunderbolt aces.
How ironic is its comparison to P-47N. This, a low/medium altitude engine stuck onto a high-altitude airframe; the P-47N, a high-altitude engine stuck onto a low-altitude airframe
Have you considered the F4-U5? Performance of -U4b straight line up to 40K altitude, due to one of a kind R2800 ("E" series). Spring tab controls, all aluminum control & wing surfaces. And all with a cabin cigarette lighter & ashtray!
Nice to see a recent video for an Allied prop vs an Axis team (not against USSR). AN/M2-3 are decent and I daresay if you had been in a P-51 or P-47 or maybe even a non-cannon corsair, I doubt you would have been able to carry in this fashion. Though 50 cals do feel a bit better after this last patch despite no patch notes announcing any buffs.

No one can resist the gull wing charm. One question for you Adam : Do the F4u-7 (the frenchy one) suffer from his 6.0 BR or does the 0.3 BR difference doesn't change anything to the plane capacity ? Because it can be a way cheaper solution to play a 4B, repair cost on this thing is like 4x lower.
F4U7 has worse performance at low-medium altitude than the F4U4B. I think it's slightly worse than the F4U4B while being at a higher BR, I'd recommend the F4U4B.

This was amazing gameplay. I do question as to why the last FW190 circled above you in the end while it was a 2v1. If he would have dove and used strict BnZ tactics the story might have had a different ending. But you handled all 3 of them with ease. Great flying

I like flying the 190A8 or d9, for the most part I'm underestimated by all manner of planes, 51s, P47s, griffons etc.. defensive flying can equal the odds, but with the F4u4b I really need the opponent to be stupid, cos there isn't much it can't do well. Unless it runs out of wep, but gambling on that is playing against the odds.
@@AdamTheEnginerd You seem to prefer high tier, maybe La-7 or La-9? Otherwise try the La-5FN, maybe talk about the differences between all the 5s, I'm not entirely clear on their differences.

La-5F, cutback rear fuselage (higher powered engine maybe), La-5FN New engine with water injection (Forzah) it's the same engine as on the La-7 and La-9. La-7, upgraded airframe from the La-5FN, gives it less drag. La-9 , new airframe, and even less drag and more guns.

I haven't unlocked the f4u-4 yet,But I was going through the wiki and it says F4U-4B has 2 compressor settings for 1000m, 4650m, but the F4U-4 has 3 for 450m,5638m and 7619m, So I'm guessing it performs better at high altitude and somewhat worse at low, only 20 kph difference at sea level according to the spreadsheet in the video's description. So, why the 0.7 BR difference and huge repair cost difference. The F4U 1D costs more to repair than the F4U-4. Does that plane have some weaknesses or problems I don't know about???

I use to like that aircraft same for the f4u-c1 but a bug is destroying my engine preformance, not to long ago, any radial engine aircraft that I go into MEC controls then back to auto causes the auto controls to just randomly feather my propeller, I had it happen when I was driving on some bombers in my f4u-c1, I was going 600kph and managed to get one of the bombers in my straif, but suddenly I got a Max rev warning, I was able to throttle down but I pretty much couldn't accelerate at all... Luckily his friend was dumb and turned to head on me, I was able to get him before the round ended. Also, through out that entire game I couldn't go past 400kph in a straight line, only when I dives I'd go past that limit... Oh, and I checked if MEC controls where still on but they whren't, the auto controls activly thought feathering my prop was a great idea for some reason... Oh and don't use MEC controls with a p38L with the prop pitch at 95%, radiators/oil at 50% and the fuel at 100%~ over 9000m up, did that once to dive on a bomber and my aircraft bugged out... If you wanna see what I mean go fly out to 9000m and use those settings, you'll be in a ride for your life, also your pilot will probably hate you.
@@AdamTheEnginerd yea... It was one hell of a ride, I just remembered them when I saw you using MEC. To be honest I don't have the slightest clue to what's causing it... I wish I did tho so I could avoid it, it's made it almost impossible to have a fun time as it's just destroyed the climb rate for the aircraft. Also, amazing flying, been trying to practice that mind set and stay calm and in control. Your an amazing pilot and it's always a joy to see you fly. And, won't mind some time trying out the p-38l and testing out to see if you get the same glitchy behavior at 9000m? I'm worried that my game is somehow broken... Things just seem to get weirder and weirder every time I fly...

I had it where the aircraft bugged out, acting like one engin is turned off, then the other, the aircraft will jump all over the place and kinda just, jolt in a random direction. Wish I could record it and send it to you, it's the equivalent of that girl from Wreck it Ralph, where it just glitches and teleports all over the place. And it wasn't packet loss, I wasn't loosing alt and my ping was below 100. Anyways, great vid as always!

Something I don’t quite understand: in one of your D9 videos you mentioned that the F4U has very poor vertical energy retention so you weren’t worried about following it up in your D9, and yet here, in an F4U, you keep going vertical. What gives?
Completely different F4Us. In the D9 video it was against the F4U1C which has bad climb, while the F4U4B has a ton of extra power and actually climbs well.
Have you tried a spaded J7W1 Shinden ? I watched the video where you said you wouldn't like it stock but it's a beast when spaded. Granted, since it's a pusher prop it can be a bit awkward but defenitely something special. :)

I was play my A2D earlier this month and I must've ran into the dumbest arado pilot. He tried to head on against a plane with virtually no repair cost
Repair costs don't matter in headons haha.
You can decrease your prop pitch to 70-80% while diving or flying way over your top speed (eg. coming out of a long dive) to reduce drag.
Depends on the plane, but usually it does not work that way.
Compare the the thrust on the host server while diving at 100% and 70% prop pitch and you’ll see the difference.
I have compared, the difference is not noticeable and it'll depend on the plane.
with timed matches, gems like this are no longer possible or at least easy, what a shame

A chaque fois que je vois un A-8 ça me donne envie de pleurer : ça me rappelle que le A-9 n'existe pas sur ce jeu et qu'il aurait bien plus sa place en 5.0 que le A-8.
Les bords de carte ne m'ont pas sauvé, plutôt ils auraient pu permettre aux ennemis de me rattraper s'ils se positionnaient comme il le faut.
Le mec dans le A8 était contre les efforts intenses de ses alliés pour me tuer haha.

Non seulement ils ont échoué à cela mais le Bf 109 K qui te rattrapait à 7:07 se fait larguer après ton respawn (dût à sa manœuvre de repositionnement).

The F4U-1A is a great plane to start grinding the American tech tree, the F4U-4 is a well-rounded plane that possesses good top speed, high-alt performance, and high-speed handling, but the F4U-4B is a true beast. It's an absolute Chad with a quartet of flying spaghetti monster dismantling cannons, a top of the line Double-Wasp engine, and a refusal to recognize the concept of high-speed compression. It takes your sister out for dinner and you're jealous of her.

An excellent boom and zoom aircraft. I got three kills in a single boom and zoom just recently (shot one plane down in the dive, killed another at the bottom, and killed one last one while I passed it climbing).

I agree that this is the best prop.
The armament absolutely shreds enemies, and has more than enough ammo. Great speed and engine power especially at low alts, it can easily beat enemies energy fighting because of its good acceleration. The gear airbrake is absolutely genius on the inventors part.
This thing also shreds jets because you can take a headon and just dip down and they cant pull the same negative Gs as you. Or if they dive on you just go really low and under their nose so that they have to pitch down more and crash or try to roll and risk crashing.
Is it good for farm?

@@AdamTheEnginerd Haha, I don't think I do either. It seems so sluggish. It made me realize how much I favor fighters with good roll rate. I actually passed it by after I got it. (I am currently up to F86F-2) but my ADHD demanded I come back and spade it. :-) . I have found it a very frustrating plane. The only thing it has is speed and controls lock up when it's fast. Plus, the TA's Re.2005's and 190d's all have so much alt advantage, that even negates it's speed. Not that I want to see you suffer, but it would be cool if you played it, just to see someone maximize its (most likely limited) potential. lol

How ironic is its comparison to P-47N. This, a low/medium altitude engine stuck onto a high-altitude airframe; the P-47N, a high-altitude engine stuck onto a low-altitude airframe
P47 airframe isn't for low alt, and Corsair airframe isn't for high alt.
Adam514 the P-47N probably has high induced drag
Have you considered the F4-U5? Performance of -U4b straight line up to 40K altitude, due to one of a kind R2800 ("E" series). Spring tab controls, all aluminum control & wing surfaces. And all with a cabin cigarette lighter & ashtray!

Nice to see a recent video for an Allied prop vs an Axis team (not against USSR). AN/M2-3 are decent and I daresay if you had been in a P-51 or P-47 or maybe even a non-cannon corsair, I doubt you would have been able to carry in this fashion. Though 50 cals do feel a bit better after this last patch despite no patch notes announcing any buffs.
Maybe the M2's but M3's are probably the worst thing you could put on a jet fighter

For sure, F4U4B has a stronger engine for low-medium altitude and hence climbs better and is faster, while F4U4 turns a bit better.

One question for you Adam : Do the F4u-7 (the frenchy one) suffer from his 6.0 BR or does the 0.3 BR difference doesn't change anything to the plane capacity ? Because it can be a way cheaper solution to play a 4B, repair cost on this thing is like 4x lower.
F4U7 has worse performance at low-medium altitude than the F4U4B. I think it's slightly worse than the F4U4B while being at a higher BR, I'd recommend the F4U4B.

This was amazing gameplay. I do question as to why the last FW190 circled above you in the end while it was a 2v1. If he would have dove and used strict BnZ tactics the story might have had a different ending. But you handled all 3 of them with ease. Great flying

I like flying the 190A8 or d9, for the most part I'm underestimated by all manner of planes, 51s, P47s, griffons etc.. defensive flying can equal the odds, but with the F4u4b I really need the opponent to be stupid, cos there isn't much it can't do well. Unless it runs out of wep, but gambling on that is playing against the odds.
Any plans on flying Lavochkins soon? It's a plane I haven't seen you take out since some old video.

La-5F, cutback rear fuselage (higher powered engine maybe), La-5FN New engine with water injection (Forzah) it's the same engine as on the La-7 and La-9. La-7, upgraded airframe from the La-5FN, gives it less drag. La-9 , new airframe, and even less drag and more guns.

I haven't unlocked the f4u-4 yet,But I was going through the wiki and it says F4U-4B has 2 compressor settings for 1000m, 4650m, but the F4U-4 has 3 for 450m,5638m and 7619m, So I'm guessing it performs better at high altitude and somewhat worse at low, only 20 kph difference at sea level according to the spreadsheet in the video's description. So, why the 0.7 BR difference and huge repair cost difference. The F4U 1D costs more to repair than the F4U-4. Does that plane have some weaknesses or problems I don't know about???
The guns, and F4U4B also climbs significantly better than -4.

I use to like that aircraft same for the f4u-c1 but a bug is destroying my engine preformance, not to long ago, any radial engine aircraft that I go into MEC controls then back to auto causes the auto controls to just randomly feather my propeller, I had it happen when I was driving on some bombers in my f4u-c1, I was going 600kph and managed to get one of the bombers in my straif, but suddenly I got a Max rev warning, I was able to throttle down but I pretty much couldn't accelerate at all...
Luckily his friend was dumb and turned to head on me, I was able to get him before the round ended.
Also, through out that entire game I couldn't go past 400kph in a straight line, only when I dives I'd go past that limit...
Oh, and I checked if MEC controls where still on but they whren't, the auto controls activly thought feathering my prop was a great idea for some reason...
Oh and don't use MEC controls with a p38L with the prop pitch at 95%, radiators/oil at 50% and the fuel at 100%~ over 9000m up, did that once to dive on a bomber and my aircraft bugged out...
If you wanna see what I mean go fly out to 9000m and use those settings, you'll be in a ride for your life, also your pilot will probably hate you.

To be honest I don't have the slightest clue to what's causing it...
I wish I did tho so I could avoid it, it's made it almost impossible to have a fun time as it's just destroyed the climb rate for the aircraft.
Also, amazing flying, been trying to practice that mind set and stay calm and in control.
Your an amazing pilot and it's always a joy to see you fly.
And, won't mind some time trying out the p-38l and testing out to see if you get the same glitchy behavior at 9000m?

I've been to 9000m and above with similar MEC settings and didn't notice weird in the Chinese P38L.
@@AdamTheEnginerd really? I had it where the aircraft bugged out, acting like one engin is turned off, then the other, the aircraft will jump all over the place and kinda just, jolt in a random direction.
Wish I could record it and send it to you, it's the equivalent of that girl from Wreck it Ralph, where it just glitches and teleports all over the place.
And it wasn't packet loss, I wasn't loosing alt and my ping was below 100.

Something I don’t quite understand: in one of your D9 videos you mentioned that the F4U has very poor vertical energy retention so you weren’t worried about following it up in your D9, and yet here, in an F4U, you keep going vertical. What gives?
Completely different F4Us. In the D9 video it was against the F4U1C which has bad climb, while the F4U4B has a ton of extra power and actually climbs well.

Have you tried a spaded J7W1 Shinden ? I watched the video where you said you wouldn't like it stock but it's a beast when spaded. Granted, since it's a pusher prop it can be a bit awkward but defenitely something special. :)
Yeah it's a bit better, but still other props of similar BR are better than it imo.
