Learned a lot on how to use p47s, I never used flaps often in props apart of p38s and when making people overshoot with the 190s, but p47s flaps seem to be pretty good. With proper rudder control you managed to keep up with zeros in the recovery from stalls. Gonna use flaps more to recover from stall climbs, even on 109s that have horrible flaps. The extra 50m that you gain without using flaps aren’t worth a fast recovery and the ability to manoeuvre more easily to get guns on target. Great video and match as always! P47 is significantly better if you're alone and you're able to get above the enemies. D30 wouldn't be able to handle 2 enemies at high altitude while the P47 can. Mixture isn't really modeled in WT, but remember that the P47 has a turbocharger, so there's still as much air going into the engine at sea level as at 7km, so mixture not changing makes sense. With MEC you can WEP forever, but if you climb at 280km/h IAS with the D28 (D25 has significantly less power and climbs rather poorly), you can meet Bf109s at roughly equal altitude at 6km.

you should check out the P38J and L, i just recently found out they get interceptor spawn and its hilariously OP with it, im baffled this isnt being outright spammed by every allied player xD
Yeah, airspawn P38s, oof.
using p-47 against japan and getting lots of kills.....damn
Yup.
That crimson mosquito guy was more annoying than a stone in your shoe
Indeed he was.
Hi Adam, I'm Bakazato r32, I really like to see that you posted the match were I played, thank you
My pleasure, gg!
@@AdamTheEnginerd I would like to have a rematch in a future, if you want of course
Anything is possible.
Damn, you fly the P47 like playing the piano.
But I don't play the piano ;).
When you have time, can you test how mixture should be changed with altitude on the p47? Cuz I found reducing from 90 to 30 at around 9200 metres provides a great boost in power (>10%), but I don't have the patience nor the methodology to do it properly.
Yeah at 8km+ you should reduce mixture a bit for sure.
the gracious vice to attack many vs. one is punished this time
Haha eh they have that right since my team died (even though a lot of them died to map shenanigans).
@@AdamTheEnginerd i'm a noob in WT, but yesterday i've seen FIVE of my team mates following like rabid dogs a single, smoking He-111...
The start of the match makes me wanna cry
So that makes the ending even better ;).
For me the maps when u fight japan with usa are the best ones to get ez kills with p47 just boom and zoom and make ur low turn an advantage
Generally I prefer aircraft that are better at low altitude, but in this match the performance at high altitude of the P47 was required to win.
the master at work. impressive!
Thanks Joe!
What kind of engine settings do you need to make the P-47 climb well? I've always found it to be a brick in that department.
With MEC you can WEP forever, but if you climb at 280km/h IAS with the D28 (D25 has significantly less power and climbs rather poorly), you can meet Bf109s at roughly equal altitude at 6km.
Me: extends away from a J2M, using the P-47's superior energy retention, and is gaining a lot of distance fast
J2M: *snipes me from 1.5km away and blows me up with one bullet* (actually happened)
Wow, that outro tho. Nice phideo btw, GG!
Thanks! What do you mean about the outro?
@@AdamTheEnginerd the Bich lasagna 😂
:).
Nice batlle adam
Thanks!
Adam, could you do a video on your control setup please?
Meh, probably not. Why?
@@AdamTheEnginerd I'm new to the game, wanting to progress from mouse aim, I'm not sure how you're looking at the enemy while also maneuvering, do you use a joystick or just mouse and keyboard?
Great fight loved this! So much skill!
Glad you loved it!
11:35 Joes donation LoL
Hahaha yes he couldn't come on stream that time.
4:43 you are near the max power altitude for the D-28 however the D-25 also has the same benefit from lower prop pitch and its max power alittude is 9100m @ 2300hp. So, with the D-28, shouldn't you also keep lower prop pitch until at least 9100m?
Lower prop pitch will reduce the crit alt however, quite significantly too.
add a chat overlay so we can say I was here on these matches :p
Just you knowing is not enough?
@@AdamTheEnginerd nah we gotta be elitists and tell everyone we saw the video before it came out
@@zUnderscore First no one cares, Second I dont care, Third I rather not if u mean chat overlay in the vid since I would like it if I could see whats happening in the battle not your chatting.
@@zUnderscore I agree with the elitist part tho
0zp if u didnt care why did u reply? illuminati confirmed
what an ace
Thanks!
The P-47 D-28, the Thunderbolt that thinks it's a 1-O-9.
Eh not quite haha.
two days ago made 8 kills on this plane. It's over Anakin. I stand above you.)
Nice!
I saw this livestream,was awesome.
P 47 should get airspawn at least the d28 and N15
With that german teams wouldn't be so powerful as they are right now...
Nah only the N15 and D25 could use it, D28 really does not need it.
Adam in the Jug? Time to clear out some room in the spank bank
Haha!
Can you make a vid on playing the a7m2 pls. I wanna know how to use it and the strengths+weaknesses and such.
Thx
It's on my list! You can also come and request it when I stream.
Video Request:
Can you go indept into all manual engine controls and how to get the most from them in as many different situations please.
Looked through all your videos about ut specifically. Would really loved if you talked about them more :)
A friend told me about your channel.
Love the content!
I should be making a MEC video this summer!
Thanks, and welcome!
@@AdamTheEnginerd thank you. Highly anticipated!
5:16 the reason to tier is hated is because the matches are so damn random i mean you go kill 1 person and then blow up and you have no freedom at all e.g. when adam pitched up he stalled if you did tht in top tier youre dead moreover you cant even dogfight.
pov: a mig is on your tail he is out of r60s but hes closing in so you try to reverse him you slow down and out maneuver him and then you blow up ( mirage iii c noobmaster69 )
People aren't forced to play top tier though, they should play what they enjoy.
Man this is so cool
Thanks!
Russian P47 can also so fighting?and btw. U r the best fleing teacher of WT on YT ,cheers.o7
Russian P47 is significantly worse than the D28, so you'll have more difficulty doing this.
My pleasure!
One of the few, if only, cases where the ground pounders were essential to a good victory (good as in not abusing ticket bleed and letting you fight).
Euh they literally didn't matter, unless you mean the patrol boats killing 4 of my teammates.
Which I'd say let me fight, but killed my team.
@@AdamTheEnginerd Don't the patrol boats auto cap the airfield if they get to it?
"Je parle aussi les escargots baguette français” fait moi rire
Mdrrrr.
Could we expect a d371 hs9 video. The sparkspanos are a bit painful, but I think you can do it.
No idea what that is haha.
It’s this really crappy premium at tier 1 France. If you don’t have the one with 20mms you can just use the regular reserve d371.
Music: Peaceful
Action: Shooting down 7 planes
Haha yup!
14:00 this is me all the time.
I can't estimate lead properly when they are heading towards me, it's my worst angle.
Haha yeah.
Did you ever do a prop pitch/mixture guide? if no will you be interested in doing one?
I have not, I'll do a video on MEC eventually.
8:36 I don't think people realize that turn performance at high altitude is unexpectedly bad. I once thought I could cut into a ta152h's turn with an f4u4b, but I was at 6-7km, I couldn't cut as tight as I thought I could, and he killed me easily. I think this is what happened here, zero thought he could turn fast enough to evade but he couldn't. Do you think that was the case?
He probably popped flaps which makes a big difference on the Ta152H during the turn.
I think here he didn't really dodge, he had decent speed to dodge.
