you saved my dad from sending money thank you!!! for the past two years are left door was not able to block at all and we had to keep reaching in to lock it so now that issue is fully fixed. Just recently the right door the open Button stopped working but it was pulling it's self closed. thank you.

Be sure you sliders are lubed. My door was stopping half way then reversing. I lubed it up with penetrating oil by simply spraying it in the upper slider and that fixed it. It closed/completed the cycle after that.

Is there a correlation between what failure mode the door is and which of the wires to focus on? I have previously spliced and obvious break but know I have both doors malfunctioning again. * One door seems to close fine (for now), but upon opening it just pops open and stops (no motor sounds after initial opening. * The other door will almost completely shut just short about 3 inches and the Motor continues to run but the door is stuck in the 3-inch opened position. This same door from a shut position will only open to that 3-inch location and motor runs but no movement of the door. The wires "look" good.
When I can I plan to (remove battery cables off battery) get the wires free and stick thin needles into each at the farthest point, then use a tester to see if I have a break,just wish I knew what wire to go after that would totally kill the door.
I need help on how I can make my doors slide open n shut on my 2007 Chevy Uplander I just got the van but it looks like the doors aren't working so it has to be done manually any info will help and thank you
My wife's 2008 dodge Grand caravan,the left sliding door started to act up..it would only open with the key fob but not electrically close,none of the interior door switches to that door would open or close it..then it would work then stop..the motor that latches the door into lock also is not working,it would work on and off,the door would axt wacky sometimes wanted to close while the door was halfway open..NOW the door is dead,it does nothing even the lighted window switch is unlit and the window no longer goes down...The right sliding door is ok..I'm trying to locate if these is a fuse for just the left sliding door to check?..and or should I go directly to the power wire in the harness since the door is now totally dead?

+Phil McQueen looking online I have found details about a recall from 2010 but I've been to the dealer numerous times after 2010 having the van repaired and they've never mentioned any recall for this the only thing they've ever fixed was the key fob ignition..not sure what to do should I try to push the issue
One day my 2010 vw routan sliding just stop opening, the lock does not move, the button does not work on the remote or on the inside and pulling on out does nothing. Is there anything i can do to fix it myself? I took out to the dealer service and they could not get it ope, they suggested a new door for a thousand bucks. So we have been doing out the old fashion way with Just the One side.

I know it's on something bit different but maybe someone help me so I don't have bring my 2010 dodge caravan to garage save me money lol.... when I 1st got my van when driver door was opened from inside all doors would unlock not it's switched where it's only passenger door that unlocks all I'm stumped maybe somehow my 2 year old has programmed it like that playing with my key all the time pushing many buttons lol so any help would be much appreciated
I have a problem with my Dodge Grand Caravan 2011 drivers rear passenger sliding door, Its closed and remote won't open it, I can't even open it manually, it's stuck I've tried every angle to opening it, kicked it, punched it, slapped it and tried not to brake anything when pulling or pushing the door and handle from the inside. I need this door opened, I have a bunch of kiddos....please help ....
The Fisherman I fixed it myself after watching a few videos. I removed the cover from the inside of the door. I pulled on the cables that were running to the back of the door and one of those opened the door. I replaced the door lock actuator (I think that’s what it’s called... it’s the electric latch that locks the door when you press the door lock button on door or key fob) put everything back together. It was the hardest thing I have ever done. It took me aprox. 10 hrs to complete. I’m not mechanically inclined I know very little about cars. But I did it! And the best part is that I saved $1200-1600 according to dealer estimate.

I just wanted to thank you for saving me $471 to splice the wire. It took about 30 minutes and came apart very easy.

extremely helpful. I just fixed it. one point: you don't have to remove that pull clip entirely, just pull it out and the chain can drop off.
thanks for the tips and video i found my wire that looked to have been pinched and cut in half.. soldered in new one and all works great..

Well it has now worked for the past year. I think that I recall it being a small wire fracture. Just keep looking is my advice

Mine opens with no issue. It has problems It just sometimes closes you can hear it release but it won’t go close. I replaced the motor already.

What is the purpose of the wiring in this harness on a non-motorized door? Is it just to give a DOOR AJAR indication on the dashboard?
The purpose is turns on the interior light warning light and door lock!

No, never got it fixed, but from everything that I've read it appears to be the lock actuator.
