Hey Paul, sounds kinda like Los Lobos you hack and thief "opportunist."
Born in 81, I grew up listening to this whole album on car trips with my parents. This is one of my favorites. I've never heard this version. I think I like it!! 😎👍

Nope, simon didn’t credit them on graceland at all despite the backing track being written and performed by them. Los lobos approached simon at a party later and asked why he would do that. Apparently simon said “take me to court, see what happens”. Simon is a pretty notorious shitty guy.
Except they didn't care about the riff they shared noodling in the studio until Graceland went up the charts, then it was a big deal. If they wanted credit they should have known to keep it to themselves instead of presenting it to an established songwriter as an unfinished fragment
