If Paul Simon ONLY wrote Bridge Over Troubled Water, and nothing else, he'd have been a legend......and he wrote The Boxer, America, Mrs. Robinson and 100 more.

They making fun of the relationship he had with Garfunkel. They each blamed the other why they broke up. They rocked together for there fans when there solo career's weren't the same. One can only imagine the tension back stage. 😵🤕🤕🤕🤕🤒. Real fans of that era know it got ugly. What Yoko did to beattles ain't got nothing on these 2 frenemies.

@@JohnSmith-hq7cb He could play a guitar better than a taller one; I think that a taller guy is about 5 foot 9; and Simon is about five foot 3, if you are really curious. He was more serious than a taller guy that only could sing but played guitar not as well, from my impression.

As a lifelong guitarist I can fully understand your joy in finally nailing a difficult song. I also have struggled learning many songs over the years and occasionally I would get one right. The Paul Simon tune I have spent the most time trying to learn is "The Boxer". Best of luck to you and God bless.

When I was a little boy in the early 70’s my parents divorced.... I’d spend the weekends with my dad... he was a very successful roofer spawning his business off my grandpa’s business...
during my visits we would listen to “records” albums lol... he had everything from Elvis, zeppelin, who, grand funk.... Paul Simon and the likes... his “cool” workers would stop by and visit... my dad was such a fun dude even the guys working for him liked to hang out with him...
One of my favorites was Paul Simon... one Sunday we were getting ready for the drive from east side of Cincinnati to BFE Indiana he said why don’t you take that Paul Simon album home. You don’t even know how happy I was. It was like taking him home with me. I had a little record player I had to plug in at the top of the steps by my bedroom in the old farm house I live in with my mom and stepping father.......... yep I meant that.. stepping father..
I remember one winter during the blizzard of 77 I was snowed in and couldn’t go see my dad.... I burnt this album up..... he died 11-24-17 68 lung cancer....
    I love these songs

I once spoke to Jim LaBarbara, who is a well known radio host in Cincinnati who spent 40 years on the air waves interviewing and inttroducing acts like the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, etc. I asked him what oldies musician was the most surprising interview he ever had. He said Paul Simon, but not for the reason you'd think. He said Paul Simon WAS a bit of a jerk. He took it in stride and figured the man was just having a bad day, but his attitude didn't change in other meetings over the years. That always stuck with me, and it is surprising for a guy that seems to soft spoken.

Simon has a long history of cooperating with skits that make fun of him, and of various aspects, rumors, legends etc about him. A classic example was a SNL sketch in a turkey outfit. It certainly wasn't a glamorous rock-star turn. He made people laugh because he complained in-character, then conceded to play a goofy role, then explained why it didn't work. Whatever he's like personally, he's willing to do stuff where hosts and writers make fun of him. Oh, and a 1:1 pickup game with an NBA star, also on SNL, where he acknowledges the height disadvantage, but speaks as if he's got some moves that give him a chance.

The fact that he even sat through colbert's awkward intro says how awesome he really is.

Paul Simon is hilarious - and.............., I was honored to see his Farewell Tour on 9/7/18 in Tampa.... NOW, my life is completed.... !!! It was AWESOME...!!! And even more amazing, I actually enjoyed this Steven Colbert skit, and laughed out loud when he busted out in the dance.... This is what late night and comedy is all about, not the political garbage going on now. This was FUN...!!
