    The 04-05 TSX RBB plenum is preferred if you use Accord TB, as the Accord plenum is smaller. Also you cant use the 06-08 TSX manifold as dont have provision for IACV air passage. Cool thing about the Accord TB is that its a direct bolt onto the RBC without an adapter. Also Pick n Pull recently stopped selling long and short block and now forces you to buy a complete motor, so this video is quite helpful to the novices. A few very accurate ways to check for rod knock is to remove spark plugs, put a lug wrench on the crank bolt, and quickly rock the crank back n forth listening for loud tapping. Metal shavings will always be present in the vtec solenoid screen on a motor with bad bearings, and very often deposited in the head under the cams.

      We were not talking about what is preferred. We are talking about what is a available. If there was another intake to take from a TSX then we would just take the other motor also. The chances of a TSX in the yard is so low in general. We are showing reality and what to do in the real world. The example of using an Accord plenum was explained useful for a swap. Pulling the solenoid is faster than a pan, thank you for sharing that.

    No yard in AZ (I’ve only been to 3-4 different ones) has a K motor. They’re always gutted lmao

    • @hush22performance1
      @hush22performance1  Год назад +1

      That’s odd. Accords and CRV are usually there. Unless your talking about the Ks everyone wants like this tsx. We have videos that explain you have to be there day 1 first line and first on the seen if you want to try to get a score.

      Most JDM suppliers should have them and you could try eBay. If what you’re asking is to find one in the Yard, that will be totally random. You’ll have to be at the yard the day it drops first line if you want to score.

    This might sound dumb, but when you’re doing a compression test does the motor need to be filled with oil?

    • @averyalexander2303
      @averyalexander2303 Год назад

      I wouldn't crank it for that long dry, but you probably won't do much damage if you do since there's no heat or pressure from combustion. If I have a questionable engine like this, I'll fill it with used oil for testing so I don't waste a bunch of new oil if it's bad.
