I got these switches a while ago becaues of this, but it sounds so thocky on my board which I dont like. I prefer those nice clacks
Honestly in my opinion, alpacas sound a bit dead. Maybe this is due to a poor lube job by me, but compared to switches like the Sarokeys Hourglass or the Tropical Waters, they are not as lively.
this why I been only lubing leaves and springs recently, sounds so much more boring with lube IMO

interesting. unlubed might actually sound better. sounds like lubed oil kings on pom plate w/o foam

Is spring swap recommended for alpacas?
it's all down to preference tbh, if you want a lighter spring, swap it
I joined the hobby a bit after the Alpaca hype and have grown a fairly large JWK collection. Do you think the Alpacas are different enough from the Tangerines/other JWK not-longpole linears to justify getting them as well?
I might get them anyhow just to complete my trifecta of “endgame” JWK linears, but still thought I’d ask haha
Get WS morandi switches. The best short travel linear switches I’ve ever used. I rarely use any other switch now because they don’t need to be lubed (doesn’t hurt to film) and they sound deeper than almost any other switch I’ve used.

Maybe the Vertex V1 switches would interest you? I've heard those are slightly different. I have BSUN switches that are super smooth and don't need lube at all also. BSUN has both long pole and non-pole and beat out JWK in my opinion.
Get the Bsun flower shadow switches. They are incredible. Bought some and they are just perfect 🔥
