Hi @Terry Todd! Thanks for the kind words! I have seen the percentage sign in some occasions show up in contacts. If someone gets a new cell phone number and creates an iCloud email address, does the ICloud email account send out emails to contacts you have saved on your cell letting them know you have a new email address and new phone number ?
Great question @nancy c. iCloud email account would not send any emails out letting you someone know you got a new email or cell phone number. Usually each contact information is specific to each individual's device. So if you were in my contacts and I got a new cell phone number, new address and new email, I would have to manually communicate that to you either through a new Text, email, or phone call. Hi @Caren Nash! What device are you on that you're seeing it greyed out on? iPhone, iPad, or Mac? On the Mac when you click "Edit" for a contact card, Birthday is greyed out because there is no birthday in there, so you need to click in the fields to the right and actually put in a month, day and year. Hi @French Threads! Contacts can be tricky and stored in multiple places! Just having contacts turned on within the iCloud settings is not enough...you want to make sure that contacts are going to the proper place when contacts are created. Go to Settings > Contacts > Default Account and double check that both your iPad and iPhone are set to the same. Sometimes the default location is a secondary email account or sometimes just stored locally on the device itself. Hope that helps! Thanks so much for watching! I appreciate the support! I have another video that may be helpful, although it focuses on importing and exporting contacts, it talks about syncing contacts from multiple accounts too: Guide to IMPORTING and EXPORTING CONTACTS on your Mac to Apple iCloud, Google GMAIL, and MUCH MORE! ruclips.net/video/S_H6TYVyd5M/видео.html
Hi @ David Hine! There sure is! I just finished a video on that exact topic! Check this video out and let me know if it answers your question! ruclips.net/video/S_H6TYVyd5M/видео.html
Hi @Tim Kasper! Yeah, I may have done that quickly as I probably wasn't focused on it at that moment. It is incredibly unintuitive of how to create groups within iCloud Contacts in my opinion. First off, I have not found a way to create a contact group for iCloud Contacts on an iPhone or iPad. So if you want a group to show up there, you need to create it either on icloud.com or on a Mac. I'll link a two useful Apple Support articles below on steps how to create a contact group on iCloud.com and also on a Mac. By doing this, the group will then show up on iPhone/iPad. Create and manage groups of contacts on iCloud.com support.apple.com/en-sg/guide/icloud/mmfba73c71/icloud Create and change groups in Contacts on Mac support.apple.com/en-sg/guide/contacts/adrb3280fe91/mac As far as you question related to sync different accounts, not really. As they are different email accounts, they're usually different companies and services. A work around would be to export information from one account and then import it into another different account. I have a video that discuss this concept with examples that may be helpful. Guide to IMPORTING and EXPORTING CONTACTS on your Mac to Apple iCloud, Google GMAIL, and MUCH MORE! ruclips.net/video/S_H6TYVyd5M/видео.html I hope that helps! Thanks so much for watching! It helps more than you know and is greatly appreciated! If you know someone who may benefit from this video, feel free to share it along!
Hey @Vishal Sheth! So you really wouldn't sync google contacts with iCloud...as each are their own service... When you create a Google account, it is usually an email ending in @gmail.com and with that it has its own calendar, contacts, notes and whatever other features it comes with. When you create an iCloud account, the email usually ends in @icloud.com and it too has its own calendar, contacts, notes, etc. So really it's like having two different services. They don't sync with each other across. I hope that helps! Thanks so much for watching!
I only have an Iphone. It will simply not sync contacts to Icloud. Account logins match, photos sync, but not contacts. Been working on this all day. Biggest waste of time ever.
Hi @Dave B! I can totally understand the frustration. If you only have an iPhone, how do you know they're not syncing to iCloud? Are you able to visit iCloud.com on a computer to check to see if they're syncing? When you look at the Contacts under the Settings of the iPhone, do you have accounts in there? Thanks so much for watching! If you would like to support me and my content, please SUBSCRIBE and SUPER THANKS! It helps more than you know and is greatly appreciated! Apple contacts is useless I live in the U.K. and I’m fed up with my contact phone numbers you can’t make calls due to getting a space every second number, I’ve tried fixes on RUclips I’ve been to Apple over the last three years about this and they still can’t fix it.
Hey @Barry Wood! You bring up a good point. As I live in the US, I don't have much of experience with numbers not in this country. So even if you change the preferences in Contacts to be the layout of U.K. it still has issues? One thing I have noticed that I wish Apple would do is when I use gmail contacts, they have a little flag next to each phone number and address that you're able to quickly change the format. I think that would be extremely helpful! Sorry not much help on this one, but thanks for watching and I hope something was helpful!

How to share contacts with spouse w seperate apple account I’d?
Why is 'birthday' greyed out?
Hi @Caren Nash!
What device are you on that you're seeing it greyed out on? iPhone, iPad, or Mac?
On the Mac when you click "Edit" for a contact card, Birthday is greyed out because there is no birthday in there, so you need to click in the fields to the right and actually put in a month, day and year. Then once you click Done, it will save the information.
I hope that helps! Thanks so much for watching!

Why are my contacts duplicated? Lists and Icloud??
Why are some of my contacts that I created on my phone not showing up on my iPad? I have my iCloud synced to both devices
I have another video that may be helpful, although it focuses on importing and exporting contacts, it talks about syncing contacts from multiple accounts too:

Is there a way to import all my Gmail contacts into Icloud contacts?
Hi @ David Hine! There sure is! I just finished a video on that exact topic! Check this video out and let me know if it answers your question!

You went too fast on how to create a group on iCloud, I can’t find the place you went too. Also is there a way to sync different accounts into one

As far as you question related to sync different accounts, not really. As they are different email accounts, they're usually different companies and services. A work around would be to export information from one account and then import it into another different account.
I have a video that discuss this concept with examples that may be helpful.

How to sync google contacts with iCloud
Hey @Vishal Sheth! So you really wouldn't sync google contacts with iCloud...as each are their own service...
When you create a Google account, it is usually an email ending in @gmail.com and with that it has its own calendar, contacts, notes and whatever other features it comes with.
When you create an iCloud account, the email usually ends in @icloud.com and it too has its own calendar, contacts, notes, etc.
So really it's like having two different services. They don't sync with each other across.
I hope that helps! Thanks so much for watching!
@@Learnwithjoel there are apps available to sync then. I was wondering if there was a direct way to sync.
@@Learnwithjoel If you have emails coming into your gmail, how can you link them to icloud contacts (using link contact?)

@@Learnwithjoel that’s ok Apple are on help either, I don’t think it’s just here there’s quite a few channels for fixes, one is to turn off roaming but doesn’t seem to work.
iphone is straight garbage. in every aspect. Will never get another one a day in my life. Android where its at.
Hey @Prism Black! I can respect your opinion! My brother would probably agree with you! He's tried to make the switch to Apple and is back at his Android. It all comes down to the user anyway and what they enjoy using and what makes sense to them!
