Gets me a bit mad that some people think this crop is bad or weak. Even though all three triple crown races are on the faster end when it comes to time. That said, there has been a clear divide on which horses we should look forward to though that could change depending on how some of them develop into their later 3 year old and perhaps 4 year old career.

These thoroughbreds today are a watered down version of their great ancestors. Nothing any of them do today could ever be considered great when you go back and see what their magnificent ancestors did.

Great race. Essential Quality showed up. After watching it back a few times, Hot Rod Charlie came out and stayed out. Quite impressive horse. Kept the lead nearly the entire time. But this was Essential Quality’s race to lose.

She was a notorious breeder I cared it with herbs the old Indian way she only paid $49 and when I run her back she paid $45 to run second and she broke down and they hauled her off in the meat wagon her first foal still held the track record for 7/8 River Downs when it closed Ambassadors Image I only claimed her for $6,500

Secretariat was king but his belmont was run on a much warmer day and faster track to be fair? that time will never be matched, easy goers belmont was ultra impressive too.

Actually no, it was advised they put blinkers on him as a 2yr old after his first start when he was super distracted and looking around. He needs his blinkers to keep him focused, that’s what they are for

This race was won by the Stradegy played out by Essential Quality's jockey. "Hold Back"...Then "release the kracken"and give EQ his head, and just let Him Run!...What a Beast!!
Essential Quality would have won the Triple Crown. 1) Kentucky Derby : Bad luck at starting gate. 2) Preakness : Trainer's bad decision. 3) Belmont : Complete Proof.

HRC best races have been on the lead he just didn't make the lead in the Derby. Without Rock Your World pressing him it might have been a different race with a less hot pace.

HRC was my pick. I wasn’t expecting him to lead the race. Would the result be different if he had followed the race in the middle of the pack behind EQ?
HRC best races have been on the lead he just didn't make the lead in the Derby. Without Rock Your World pressing him it might have been a different race with a less hot pace.
