    Those green parrots are actually a very recent addition to the fauna of Grenada. They were not here before the 1990s - at least not in recent modern history.
    There was a zoo at the Botanical Gardens located on the site of the Ministry of Education and the nearby northern wing of the Ministerial Complex. This zoo stopped being operational at the time of the 1983 U.S. intervention. It started operating again for a very brief period of a few years, in the early 1990s, but was limited to featuring mainly birds with a few other small animal species. It was nothing much to talk about, but a mere shadow of its former splendor in the 1970s when it had crocodiles/alligators, big cats, etc.
    There was some legal controversy surrounding the figure who started it up again in the 1990s. There was talk of birds being used as drug mules, essentially making the whole operation a front for drug trafficking. So the zoo was shut down once again and vanished completely with the construction of the Ministerial Complex and Ministry of Education building on the site. Did I say vanish completely? There is still actually one surviving relic. You may have seen that drinking fountain designed to look like a large lion's head with it's mouth opened wide. That was at the zoo. It terrified me as a small kid.
    And all the green parrots you see and hear flying over certain parts of the island like Mt. Parnassus and Grand Bras - those were introduced into the wild from the 1990s defunct zoo.

      Wow! I didn’t know most of this. Thanks for sharing! It would have been nice to visit when they had all of those animals there.

    Beautiful Vlogs as usual, Nezzle! The only problem I have, especially for visitors, is the area MP needs to invest in a proper signage on the main road into New Hampshire. This would be of great assistance to visitors. Your brother is doing an excellent job as a visitors guide. Thanks again blessings

      Thank you! Yes, I agree on the need for more signage. Recently, a lot of new ones have been put up but there are still many areas lacking proper signage. Blessings to you too.

    .Do they have jumpers at other waterfalls besides Annandale?
    I went to a waterfall where there were jumpers, but I don't recall which waterfall I went to.
    Yes. I know that's pretty sad. I actually went to two, but didn't make note of either names

    • @Nezzle
      @Nezzle  Месяц назад +1

      You’re welcome! Yes Concord also has jumpers. The ones that are not frequently visited (like those you have to hike to) don’t usually have jumpers though.
