    Though most RUclips reviewers have been slamming the 4070 Ti for not having a particularly good price, I think PC Centric nailed the point when they said (16:18) the value's not really there, but it's really there for *any* graphics card right now. It's not good guy AMD and bad guy Intel/NVIDIA. It's an entire home consumer electronics industry run ragged by profiteers taking advantage of supply shortages. Our hobbies are their side hustles. If anything, the 4070 Ti has been doing good work at undercutting the scalpers sitting on big stacks of 4080/90s.

    The 4070 Ti is a technically excellent card that is badly let down by corporate greed.
    If not for the price I would have bought one but £850 is to much for any 4070 card and we can only hope that the AMD 7800 and 7700 series cards are more reasonable with good performance and acceptable Ray Tracing.

    • @DenverStarkey
      @DenverStarkey Год назад

      well considering AMD's current top ray trace offerings are just on par with a 3090 , i expect the 7800 and 7700 to fall in line with 3080 and 3070 ray tracing capabilities. which is not quite good enough to power ray tracing at higherresolutions. I got a 3070 and most games with ray tracing i have to render at 1080p and let dlss upscale (to my tv's 4k res) (aka dlss performance mode). and even then my frames are only in the 40-50's range . it;'s made me consider maybe going back to a 1440p monitor or even a 1080p monitor. so i don't have to upscale so high for a clean sharp image (this tv, like amonitor , looks kinda fuzzy on any res but 4k)

    How refreshing to see an honest balanced review of this card - unlike most of the others I have seen with excitable presenters squealing about how crap everything is. I'm looking at replacing my 2080ti with this card. And yes, whilst the price is high, it is still much more affordable to me than a 4090. I only use my PC for VR flying in DCS World, and whilst my 2080ti provides a decent experience, I am hoping a 4070ti might iron out some of the stutters that I suffer with.

    For the people say “it’s a good value for the money compared to last gen!”, by this logic, you could say the 4080 is a good value for 4K because it is “only” $1200 and nothing last gen could compete. The problem with this card is that nvidia is pricing PURELY on performance and not taking into account cost of production. If you look at the smaller die size and the cut down memory bus bandwidth (ignoring the ram amount), then you’ll see that nvidia is making the margins on these massive. We *should* expect generational improvements, that’s the point of new generations, but what’s happening here is that they made a KILLER architecture (as evident is by the 4090’s performance) and cut down these cards to increase margins massively. The 4070Ti performs well *IN SPITE* of them cutting these costs, and that’s what I think we ought to stand up against. We could have had better, but nvidia was greedy. This is a 60/60Ti level card when you compare it’s specs relative to the 80/90 class cards to other generations. This card could have been a 4k MONSTER but nvidia knew that nobody would buy the 4080 otherwise, so they cut it down. If that’s not corporate greed, I don’t know what is. These cards should rot on shelves (unless you *really* need a gpu for work because that’s your livelihood) until nvidia decreases the price so it’s more in line with how it *should* line up in the stack.

      Its called capitalism. When you sell a product, people expect it to be quality. When the quality increases, the product´s performance becomes better. Therefore ergo, if you want to sell the product, it has to cost more money than a product you sold which has less quality but is meant to serve the same purpose. Supply and demand.

      the entire 4000 series pricing scheme was meant to move 3000 series cards really. because nvidia and retailers got over supplied with 3000 chips after bitcoin fizzled out again and the shortage ended. and it worked. 450-500 for a 3060 ti, 650 for a 3070, 800 for a 3080 , or 1500 for a 3090. all looked like mega deals when the 4090 dropped at 1700 and the 4080 at 1300. most people said "oh fuck the 4000 series" , and bought into the 3000 series instead (myself included albeit i bought a used 3070).
      what you're not seeing now about 8 months after the 4000 seires launch are 3000 series cards eating shelf space like they were prior. So the ploy worked. of coruse the super rich "got have the latest" guys bought 4090's still. but you do see 4080's and 4070ti's clogging shelves in quite a few places.

    I am new to the PC thing. I decided to do 3d modeling and game design as a hobby, so I need a strong PC. I have been watching pc channels like this one for about 3 months now. Many keep having negative comments about the new graphics cards and pc parts. However, like you said, "People need graphics cards." I don't want to be guilt tripped into buying overpriced old generation gpu. Many channels say go for a 3090 over a 4080. But when you look for a 3090, it's over $1400 new. And the used versions are at or above the msrp. Why buy that old stuff when I can get a 4080 for $1200? I would buy a 4070ti if it had 16gb of vRam. But it foes not. I would buy a 3090, but it's scalped and overpriced. So I will have to get a 4080 or 4090. Both the 3080 and 4070ti have 12gb of vRam. If you go on Amazon a 3080 is around $1k usd. Why would I go for an overpriced 3080 when I can get a 4070ti for around $800 usd? The 4070ti beats the 3080 and its newer and cheaper. That's why I love your channel. You keep the data realistic.

      How are you supposed to know what games you will play in the next 3, 4, 5 or even 6 years? Even the game you play the most, one bad update you might be done, or if your friends quit you might be done. And the game you play the most is likely going to either be multiplayers, simulators, or strategy games but most people will still want to also play triple A singleplayers. And those are the measuring stick, those are the ones you need to able to run. At 1440p at this point you need a 3080 12gb or possibly the upcoming 4070 non ti. The 4070 ti reviewed here is considerably better. Probably adds another year longevity, maybe 2. Hard to say what's going to happen as years go by but the sad reality is that most people probably need what is going to be a 600 or 700 dollar card, or get this one for 800.
      If the 4060 Ti has 12gb memory then that will be enough for a lot of people, but the community is dreading a reality where it will only have 8gb.

    Refreshing realistic review - thanks mate! I just upgraded my trusty 1080ti (what a beast she was) to a similar card (MSI GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Ventus 3X OC 12GB GDDR6X) for $1300 AUS. The reality is the GPU market is overinflated by roughly $500 per unit and not much we can do about it. I AM a tight arse and have always adhered to middle of the range PC components, so for todays priced market this product fit my purchasing ethos. This was a great upgrade for me and my system is way quieter and cooler. Performance is as expected (great!) and am enjoying some amazing sceneries in my flight sim @ 2k. Don't let the myriad of negative reviews guilt you from buying this card - YOU'RE worth it - go treat yourself now because prices are not dropping!

    I had a 2060 super paired with a 17-9700k. I used that system since the beginning of 2019, and at the time it really wasn't that bad at 1080p especially for the games at the time. Nowadays with RT and me upgrading to a 1440p monitor. I just simply needed something better that could offer the 144 fps (or relatively close to it) I was needing. The pricing is horrible and unfair and I will give every reviewer that, but the fact of the matter is (for me) this was great. Compared to the prices and me not wanting to build AMD, the prices people were wanting, and what companies were wanting for used 30 series and the new 4080/4090s... This card is actually a goodish find. Not everyone has a ridiculous amount of money to spend on scalper prices and I sure as hell was not paying for a used card and there was no way I was gonna drop 1200 - 1300 dollars on a card alone. The system I have now has a 4070ti and a i9-13900k and it feels like it should last me a whole lot longer than the one I had previously. Hate all you guys want but this is a great buy (AGAIN FOR ME).

    I'm looking to build this weekend! But due to my current situation, goals, projections, and budget, I'm shifting the products I'm getting so I can get into a 4080 range for my build. (4k gaming +3D rendering + workstation loads + not upgrading for 6y+)
    I hate that the market is in such a crappy position atm; however I cannot do what I want to do with my current rig, nor have I been able to for several years now. (i5-4460, GTX970, 8gb DDR2)
    As for voting with my wallet*: I have been voting with my wallet, I've voted by not buying anything for 7-8 YEARS, and look where I am now with my votes.
    As for the 4070ti: In this crappy market, and with the recent issues with AMD (I was really hoping the xtx would be my next card :( ) I think this card can do quite well for its cost; when compared to the over priced over bloated 4080/4090 cards for GAMING*. Honestly; If I were not building a rig for workstation/art loads and needing as much Vram as I can get, and was ONLY a gamer; I'd probably be picking up this card, or the XTX.
    I'm sure there are going to be price drops by the end of the year, maybe even in summer. Though If I have to compare waiting 6 months to save 500CAD or so, vs having a rig where I can finally branch out into 3D model rendering....... I'm going to pay that 125 per month.
    If a sale were coming February; I could wait.... but if its just for 50-100CAD... again, I'd rather have my equipment and spend that time learning Blender.

      imo;
      If you can wait, then wait. 2000 and 3000 series are still good, and if you are fine in even older hardware its better to wait.
      If you cant wait or have waited for too long already, I don't think you should feel shamed for needing an upgrade. Crap time that upgrade fell into but no crystal ball is perfect for predicting the future :)

      XTX was something i was really hoping for, even put my build off for another 3 months or so in the hopes it would offer 4080+ performance at a cheaper cost.
      If I were only a gamer and could handle the small hiccups*, I'd have gone with it.
      But with all the problems popping up over it I'm going with the 4080. (I'd go for a 4090, but i'm sacrificing elsewhere in the build and i can barely get the 4080, so i'm just not anywhere near that price bracket :/ )

Went with this because the benchmarks were similar (thought the 4070Ti was the superior card the vast majority of the time) and on newegg with tax I only paid bout 950, for a 3090 I would have had to shell out 100-110 bucks more for a card that performs worse. In fact, it was even hitting pretty high FPS on 4K, about 60 FPS Ultra, and with DLSS even more! On modern games on 4070 Ti won't even sweat. If a 3090 used is going for $800 and so is the 4070ti, I would choose the newer card, simply for the newer gen tech and it's new not used. With ray tracing it’s easily faster. Once u factor in dlss, xt has no hope. It’s crazy that xt is more expensive than this gpu

    I loved the video! I love the unbiased point of view. And i found this very informative! Not complaining and whining like everyone else lol. Hopefully i enjoy this card. I stream and play in 1080 p. I see apex running at almost 300 fps on 1080 lol. Thats nuts.

    I feel the biggest issue comes from the fact that some reviewers are out of touch with their audience and don’t realize that a lot of us can’t just drop a couple g’s on a 4080-4090 plus all the supporting hardware to go with it, like my self I am running an omen 40L atm and it does have some paths to upgrade such as the psu, gpu, ram and the option for a 2nd ssd, I think the biggest thing to consider is the type of gaming someone’s doing like if you’re running a 4k monitor and need a gpu that can support the resolution sure go for a 4090 or a 4080, but dollar for dollar at 1440p a 4070 Ti could be an option, but that’s my opinion though.

    Yes they need to bring the price back down. I got a FE 3070 ti for msrp and that was a steel at the time but about 2 months later most of the prices got back down to msrp and now I’m left wanting more considering I spent $650 on my gpu

      The RTX 4070 Ti is seen performing up to 60% faster than the RTX 3070 Ti in select titles, and its 12GB Vram also makes it a better compute card. In Europe the 4070 Ti is roughly ~30% more expensive than the 3070 Ti, but generally it's a better value. So if you still can, consider returning your 3070 Ti.

    It's the same cost as 3080 here, it's really strange, 3090 costs more .. guess it's a stock level thing 🤔

      3080 is in bad place right now price wise, it makes zero sense to get a 3080 or ti over a 4070ti, where I’m at anyway.

    Better than a 3090 TI with half the power draw is actually pretty decent for the price if you can get it at or near MSRP.
