tip for anyone that breaks a stud. easy way to remove. use a torch to heat up the stud till it's red hot then one good wack with a hammer it will pop out
Another great video! Thanks for taking the time to put these together, your videos are becoming the key 997.2 DIY archive! BTW, did you decide to keep your car?
+speedcanada1 thank you! If I keep the car long enough, I'll have every possible DIY documented. As of now yes, but am uncertain because I'm likely moving to another state with not nearly as awesome driving roads as California. I'll make a decision within the next 3 months.
I know Im asking randomly but does any of you know of a method to log back into an instagram account?? I was stupid lost my account password. I appreciate any help you can offer me
@Kaden Marco thanks for your reply. I found the site thru google and Im waiting for the hacking stuff atm. Takes a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
Very cool!! I like that you went to a parking lot to do the final test so not to disturb your neighbors. Very considerate! Is the drone inside the car ok and not too loud when you're driving? Great vid!! 👍😎
+Auto Amateur there really is no drone. I'll post some in car footage soon. The car is still surprisingly quiet cruising on the highway, but you can hear the exhaust as soon as you give it some gas.
Man, that sounds really good!!! Wish you would've thrown a drive by/drive off clip in there. How much did the center exhaust weigh? Bypass? Any insight into how it would sound with just the bypass and not the gundo hack? Sounds more throaty now tho. Awesome mod!
+K1dPhresh1 the stock muffler weighs around 20 lbs versus 5 lbs for the new one. With just the center muffler bypass, the car would have a similar tone to just the gundo hack, but be slightly quieter. I'll try to get a drive by clip soon!
Yes I'm considering doing that to mine. I like it!! Do you think it's a good idea to put penetrating oil on exhaust bolts occasionally to slow down or prevent the corrosion? Or will the heat generated counter act the penetrating oil?
The penetrating oil will most likely not last long. I forgot to mention in my video, but I did replace all of the muffler hardware with stainless steel nuts, bolts, and washers.
after some time with the center exhaust bypass, do you prefer this setup or when you just had the gundo hack? I currently have the gundo and center bypass, but I'm thinking with just going gundo.
+Rahman Z I actually really like the sounds with both the gundo and the center bypass. If I could get my hands on a used Fabspeed center muffler bypass, I would. I really like the higher pitch sound it produces!
Just to be clear, you did center muffler bypass X pipe and gundo hack on the side mufflers? I believe you may also have cold air intake? That's exactly what I want to do to my 997.2 C2S!
@@CarFanatic Sounds awesome. Do you notice a big difference with the intake? Would you say it's worth the money? I currently have sharkwerks x pipe and stock side mufflers, no intake I'm thinking I'm definitely doing side muffler hack and possibly intake...
Yes 2". I definitely recommend the gundo hack because even with that and the center muffler bypass, the car isn't that loud still. I don't have an aftermarket intake so I can't comment there.
You can use an S shaped wrench to access it. Or you can use a rachet and a swivel extension. If your bolt is badly corroded, don't try to loosen it. Just tighten it and snap the bolt, then you can get the stuff out using a BGH (big f* hammer). Good luck and hope you're subscribed!
Your lucky yours fit. Mine is too wide, gonna send it back. Forums are full of people comparing about fit. I knew better, but took a chance. Total bummer.
What were they thinking to put 3 mufflers on a Porsche, and with that tacky heavy bolt on instead of clean welded or single piece... I straight piped a Passat simply by taking it to an exhaust weld shop for about the price of those tools. Leave the other mufflers on or you will hate the excessive noise, this is good level.
Appreciate it, I was wondering because I saw a millitek used online but he said x pipe has CEL. Do you recommend billy boat or would you look for a used fab speed. Thanks
Nice sound! I love it.
tip for anyone that breaks a stud. easy way to remove. use a torch to heat up the stud till it's red hot then one good wack with a hammer it will pop out
Also replace with stainless steel bolts which won't corrode
...use a torch to heat up the stud till it's red hot...just under the 911 engine,it's a good way for burning your lovely 911 and your garage.
Very nicely done, Sir!
Nice video and a great cost-effective mod!
+Jon @ Flat 6 Motorsports thanks!
+Jon @ Flat 6 Motorsports thanks!
Do you daily driver this setup? Or do you think you could daily driver it with droning on the highway at 70mph? Thanks for uploading!

@Kaden Marco it worked and I actually got access to my account again. I am so happy!
Thanks so much you saved my ass :D

Very cool! I like the sound of that.
Where did you get the center muffler bypass pipe?
Man, that sounds really good!!! Wish you would've thrown a drive by/drive off clip in there. How much did the center exhaust weigh? Bypass? Any insight into how it would sound with just the bypass and not the gundo hack? Sounds more throaty now tho. Awesome mod!

Awesome. Where did you do the gundi hack? Did you do that yourself?
You changed Carrera S to 911...niceeee
+tommy c very observant! Thank you.

Great work! How did you change the badge? Would like to do that myself. Keep up the great vids
Confused.....why are you promoting the Fabspeed Center Bypass in the when your video is for the Billy Boat bypass system? Seems odd.

can't wait to drive it. lol
WD40 is not a penetrating oil. It's a water displacement and light lubricant. PB Blaster outperforms everything else when it comes to rated hardware.
Did you have any hiccups at the Arizona emissions testing after the exhaust mods ?
Nope. Mods don't affect emissions since everything is after the catalytic converters.
Just to be clear, you did center muffler bypass X pipe and gundo hack on the side mufflers? I believe you may also have cold air intake? That's exactly what I want to do to my 997.2 C2S!
Correct but I have the stock intake!
@@CarFanatic Sounds awesome. Do you notice a big difference with the intake? Would you say it's worth the money? I currently have sharkwerks x pipe and stock side mufflers, no intake I'm thinking I'm definitely doing side muffler hack and possibly intake...
You go with 2" diameter pipe?
Yes 2". I definitely recommend the gundo hack because even with that and the center muffler bypass, the car isn't that loud still. I don't have an aftermarket intake so I can't comment there.
Thanks for this great video!
How did you do to remove the upper bolt for the cat to muffler link? it is really difficult to have access on mine...
Since I've done this mod i'm having carbon deposite on my rear finders. Can you please help me with this issue? Thanks!
Sounds like a potential exhaust leak. Maybe they didn't completely weld the pipe shut or did not connect the muffler correctly.
@@CarFanatic thank you
Much easier to drive the broken bolt out of the hole with a hammer. It’s a press fit. Not welded
sounds pretty good. does that car have an IMS bearing?
No, its a 997.2 with the DFI motor.
Your lucky yours fit. Mine is too wide, gonna send it back. Forums are full of people comparing about fit. I knew better, but took a chance. Total bummer.
I had to play around with mine in order for it to fit
What size nut and bolt did you use to replace the corroded ones?
+Ron Levin M8x1.25. I know the exact lengths, but get a few 30, 35, and 40mm length bolts.
What tips are those?
Stock but ceramic coated in satin black
Hey man did you do a video on the tips job?
Is this legal in CA?
I don't know. It doesn't mess with the catalytic converters but I know California technically requires modifications to be CARB certified.

use pb blaster instead of wd40, its like man vs boy. wd40 is like girly man. just dont get it near any seals
I prefer to use my muscles. I don't need no pb plaster. Lol j/k
Here's a thought, jack your car up for easier access 🤦
Love your videos, definitely
Helpful for my 997.1 cab. Did you get a CEL with x pipe removal? Thanks
Nope!
Appreciate it, I was wondering because I saw a millitek used online but he said x pipe has CEL. Do you recommend billy boat or would you look for a used fab speed. Thanks
Both get the job done, but the fabspeed will give you a more exotic sound due to the exhaust scavenging produced by the design.
