I used to love this song, and still do. But now in my late 50's, it just brings up so much heartache from over the years. It's still a beautiful song, but now it hits me so much deeper. By the way, if you want another truly great Bob Seger song to react to, check out Fire Lake.
Bob Seger always came across as one of the most authentic & real musicians out there. You get the feel that he actually lived his songs, and would be a hell of a guy to have a couple beers with.
This was the song we played at our wedding reception, raised a few eyebrows but it was the dance my wife and I danced to on the night we met, 7 years earlier. 23 years later it still makes me emotional.
This era of music demonstrated men who wore their heart on a sleeve, express their vulnerability for love. Thank you for sharing your reaction. It allowed me to experience again the emotional impact this song had on me many, many years ago. You have a good soul.
You're absolutely correct. Just with the Classic Rock-n-Roll songs from the 70's into the mid 80's, you can be listening to amazing music for many years to come, virtually no end. Enjoy the journey.😊
Saw Bob in concert 35 years ago...i still play his greatest hits CD a lot. He's just one of those artists that doesn't immediately come to mind for most...until you play him. But true music enthusiasts...like you..will enjoy your whole life. God bless..plenty still to find out there JB!
I love your reactions. I love Bob Seger so much. So many great tunes. But this is my all-time favorite of his. It rips my heart out and I always get teary eyed!
Your reacts to Bob Seger's songs are joyous man, it's fantastic to see how folk react to hearing Bob Seger for the first time, I was brought up listening to Bob Seger, I'm 47yrs old now.
The great thing about your reactions, is that you take us all on the same journey as you're on because we live the music through you, even though we may have heard a song hundreds of times before, watching the reactions of others listening for the first time, almost makes the experience like the first time for us too. Loving your work and your honesty man. There's millions of amazing songs by some incredible artists out there you've never heard, just waiting for you.
The first ever record that I played on my record player was Bob Seger. He was, is, and always will be my spirit animal. Also, he has over four decade of catalogue to choose from amigo. Enjoy the ride.
Haha. Great reaction. This is my No 1 favorite of Bob Seger. He s pretty intense and this song was as emotional as it gets. Keep up the good work.Curious if you ever heard Boz Skaggs or Bobby Caldwell.Late 70 s and 8o s music. Both soulful and jazzy guys but excellent. They are emotional with great surrounding musicians. Lighter pace and mellow voices .So many great artists from back then. I could talk hours and hours on so many of them.
First time viewer. Great reaction video. I love how you express yourself and I feel like your speaking directly to is viewers! This is my favorite song by Bob. The ability that he has to sing with so much emotion his voice just takes me on a journey every time. His voice and his music is timeless.
Bob preaching! He is a great storyteller. One of the best songwriters of all time. His style is somewhat reminiscent of people like bruce springsteen, bryan adams, john cougar, john denver, bon jovi and so forth.
Have you found Jackson Browne yet? He's (IMO) the greatest lyricist who ever lived, but his best work never was out there on the radio. Go to his early albums. For a Dancer, My Opening Farewell, Jamaica, On Silver Lake. Or check out "Anything Can Happen," which is about love in uncertain times. "I'll give you the love I have for you now, 'cause anything can happen in a world so full of fear." What better time than now, for those words?
Thanks for your honest reactions, JB. Really enjoying it. Appreciate the close attention you pay and your sincere responses. Takes me back to when I first heard Bob.
Great authentic reaction. Very honest... Yes, Bob Seger moves you with his music. Great fusion of original rock and roll with blues and a soulful voice.
James- you WILL have an entire Bob Seger playlist, a long one soon.. hopefully!😉 There’s sooo many more, believe it or not-You have TONS of artists and bands, then all the many songs within each! Amazing music back in the day! It will be that way/repeated again- JS Sending love always- ❤️💛🤘🏼✌️
Congratulations about this journey that you're on. Music is, truly, the universal language and every song means different things to each of us and affects us for our own reasons.
Bob Seger released "We've Got Tonite" in 1978 and had a No. 13 hit. In 1983, Kenny Rogers released a cover duet with Sheena Easton, which is also very pretty and heartfelt and reached No. 6 on the pop singles chart. I also recommend "Like a Rock" by Bob Seger ... which you may have already heard in Chevy truck TV commercials. :-)
Another big hit by Bob and the Silver Bullet Band! Al Stewart, Year of the Cat, song on the Radio, Time Passages, Roads to Moscow, Modern Times,On the Border! You will love it, great story telling!
fantastic reaction, i grew up listening to these kinds of songs, i think the reason there are fewer requests for bob seger is because ALL of the music was so great back then that, believe it or not, he just gets overlooked, anyway, it truly warms my heart to see the younger crowd rediscovering some of it. god bless reaction videos.
James, try Billy Joel's "Until The Night" from his 1978 blockbuster "52nd Street" album. It is easily the most underrated Billy Joel song. The saxophone alone will absolutely blow you away. It is truly one of Joel's finest songs.
Seger is just plain awesome! Check out "Travelin Man/Beautiful Loser" or "Roll Me Away". Yes, you are right. The journey you are on will take you into incredible places that will move your heart. Enjoy, my good sir!
Bob Seger is an excellent live act, you should check out some live songs from his 1976 album LIve Bullet. He covers Ike & Tina Turners "Nutbush City Limits", and that would be a good live song to start with. "Let it Rock", and "Lookin' Back" are also very good.
I had just divorced and ran into an old friend (well we were more than just that before I met my ex) and I remember this song when we stayed together for 3 days. He helped me get through that feeling of worthlessness I thought I'd never recover from. We haven't seen each other in years.
Seger wrote this in 1978, but it was a huge hit in 1983 as a duet by Kenny Rogers and Sheena Easton (she sang the theme for James Bond 'For Your Eyes Only' and a bunch of other stuff). I love her voice on it, and it is well worth checking out if you have room for it in your reactions.
Oh JB..... you made me cry from 4 minutes on to the end of the song. You looked like you were feeling this song so deeply and that it scraped some tender feeling. Thanks for your reaction. Take care and be well. Peace.
There were so many groups and single artist back when i grew up.the 70s and early 80s were flooded with talent. That was my time. But i love 50s and 60s music just as much. good job man
Whenever you get ready for a new mind blowing band (assuming you haven’t gotten to them yet), check out The Band (yes, the name is right, The Band). I’d start with their live rendition with Muddy Waters called Ain’t That a Man.
Bob Segar is awesome!! You still need to do Dream Academy “LIFE IN A NORTHERN TOWN’ & Mike & the Mechanics “THE LIVING YEARS”. Pleeeeaaassseee?!!! You’ll be blown away! 😊
When me and my brother were kids in the late seventies I don't know how many 8 track tapes we burned out in his car going to school going to work driving around and partying Bob seger's awesome I feel sorry for you just hearing a lot of this good music for the first time but it happens it's not your fault, keep listening, when you get a chance put on some classic rock on classic rock radio stations you'll hear all kinds of good stuff.
I love you seeing your journey listening to older music, as a musician myself and because it's the music my mom played when I was growing up. When I was like 4 years old I used to go to a pizzeria with my mom and I would always play "old time rock n roll" by bob segar on the jukebox. But yea I love that you really feel it. Like the new radicals say, you got the music in you. One of my favorite artists from the past is jim croce, you should definitely check him out. if you haven't already heard them I would say start with operator or time in a bottle.
Enjoy your journey my friend. I have been trying to listen to all of the music for over 50 years. I haven't gotten there yet, But what a great ride!!!!
Bob is one of the Greatest singer-songwriters ever.
I used to love this song, and still do. But now in my late 50's, it just brings up so much heartache from over the years. It's still a beautiful song, but now it hits me so much deeper. By the way, if you want another truly great Bob Seger song to react to, check out Fire Lake.

I know I'm late to the Seger party, but Live Bullet is a masterpiece. From beginning to end, best live recording in history
This era of music demonstrated men who wore their heart on a sleeve, express their vulnerability for love. Thank you for sharing your reaction. It allowed me to experience again the emotional impact this song had on me many, many years ago. You have a good soul.
70' music, how can you beat it? Soooo many great songs.
My kids grew up with BOB SEGER and they love him also...
Now my grandkids are being introduced.😍
You're absolutely correct. Just with the Classic Rock-n-Roll songs from the 70's into the mid 80's, you can be listening to amazing music for many years to come, virtually no end. Enjoy the journey.😊
stunning, haunting song ! so glad you like it ! Bob Seeger and the Silver Bullet Band

Very true. Such great songs!
Saw him in Tallahassee about 40 years ago. Best concert I ever attended.
The artists are not out of nowhere. They have been my life. Keep up your good work. I love your videos!
My mom's favorite. Ive been listening since birth. Just be happy you discovered Bob Seger.
His band was one of the best also! The silver bullet band!
I love your reactions. I love Bob Seger so much. So many great tunes. But this is my all-time favorite of his. It rips my heart out and I always get teary eyed!
Bob "SEEE-GER", oh man he's deep as hell man. He's one of the best songwriters ever.
Can never get sick of this mans songs!! EVER

So perfectly said!! I guess we have lockdown to thank for giving this to us. ✌❤
The perfect love song. If I had only listened to the words.
The first ever record that I played on my record player was Bob Seger. He was, is, and always will be my spirit animal.
Also, he has over four decade of catalogue to choose from amigo. Enjoy the ride.
Hollywood Nights, Like A Rock, Fire Down Below, Her Strut just to name a few. Keep em' coming buddy.
I’m so happy that you seen to have found your passion. This guy is a true talent.
The late, great Barry Beckett steals a lot of the attention on the organ and piano! One of Muscle Shoals'finest!
Your taste in music amazes me 😃👍...love how genuine you are.
Haha. Great reaction. This is my No 1 favorite of Bob Seger. He s pretty intense and this song was as emotional as it gets. Loved this in The Wonder Years
He had soooo many songs that were big hits...the kind where everyone knows the words as soon as they start.
1964 -1984 was the greatest, most inspired, most artistic time in rock music. Note even close. So many great artists in that time frame.
I would say 64 to 90, after that most of it was just for the money, no craftsmanship.
🥰
I couldn’t agree more!!! That’s why it’s really hard to relate to contemporary music...ain’t got the same soul😂
I think your timeframe is very accurate. I could even stretch it to 1994. After Kurt Cobain died, creativity and great music did, too.
First time viewer. Great reaction video. I love how you express yourself and I feel like your speaking directly to is viewers! This is my favorite song by Bob. The ability that he has to sing with so much emotion his voice just takes me on a journey every time. His voice and his music is timeless.

I love Bob Seger. Thank you so much for reacting to this song because I haven't heard it for so long and had forgotten how beautiful it was.
☮❤🦘🇦🇺

Bob is a true legend of rock. All the way back to the song, rambling gambling man,he's just plain a cool dude. Mrs. Ward here.
Thanks for your honest reactions, JB. Really enjoying it. Appreciate the close attention you pay and your sincere responses. Takes me back to when I first heard Bob.
Bob's favorite song to perform was "like a rock.' A must hear, another must hear is "down on mainstreet."
Great authentic reaction. Very honest... Yes, Bob Seger moves you with his music. Great fusion of original rock and roll with blues and a soulful voice.
This song was the theme of many high school dances and proms for years during the 70's and 80's.
I saw him live twice. First time was front row tickets I won on the radio! Amazing! I'll never forget it
Im old school but I know when I hear a great voice and Lady Gaga has one. A million reasons is awesome!!
AGAINST THE WIND IS ONE OF HIS GREATEST
I love how you break down the songs and talk about the meanings, like living for today
Bob Seger is one of the very best !!!!!!!
Too many great artists to keep up with and Bob Seger was one of them. Travelin Man and Beautiful Loser is my favorite.

Fire Down Below and Her Strut!!!! You'll LOVE both!!! Very upbeat and great songs.

WOW 😯 great song!! Roll Me Away, Feel Like a Number, Making Thunderbirds, Shinin Brightly
FINALLY!! All these reactors are on some Bob Seger kick BUT it's James who does We've Got Tonight. No one else is doing it!! His best song!
Love your reaction. Yes, he will hit you in so many ways and each song is different. You have to go through his songs. You won't be disappointed
Bob Seger hasn't "come out of nowhere". I've been buying his music since 1976.
James, try Billy Joel's "Until The Night" from his 1978 blockbuster "52nd Street" album. It is easily the most underrated Billy Joel song. The saxophone alone will absolutely blow you away. It is truly one of Joel's finest songs.
LOVE this song, my fav from Bob, along with Old time Rock & Roll which you've done. Brings back memories! 😁
Great video. Try Bob's "Turn the Page" ! One of my all-time favorites !! 🙋🏻♀️🌹

Bob Seger had a real gold streak of hits.
He’s got a ton of hits
Try his “Little Drummer Boy”. One of the best Christmas songs ever
Yes! I forgot about that one. It really is the best!
He was always on the radio. So I constantly did homework to his music. 🙄 almost hear 'Maggie May' next on the cue. 😍 🐰 #ENRGYZRBunny

I had just divorced and ran into an old friend (well we were more than just that before I met my ex) and I remember this song when we stayed together for 3 days. He helped me get through that feeling of worthlessness I thought I'd never recover from. We haven't seen each other in years.
Unlike a lot of them on RUclips, your reactions seem so sincere. Thumbs up to your channel.
