What I saw was that in the 3rd race the Huracan went before the green light and the demon driver thought they would start over because of how obvious he was at a disadvantage but at the end they kept going and the demon lost.

Price aside Demon should have won the drag race consistently. Huracan is track focused car and also a choice for many GT series race team. Demon is a drag focused given how they advertised it to do quarter mile in 10 seconds. Besides, give huracan a little bit of tuning and it will smoke the Demon even in drag race. But can you tune Demon to win Huracan at tracks? Drag race is actually not a race at all that's why it's not mainstream. Because people will tune the hell out of them and produce 1500hp upto 5000HP cars, do the nitrous +ethanol boost that will do quarter mile in less than 7 second even for a car . Or built jet engines to do it even faster. Drag race is just not a smart race . Saying all that the Dodge viper does very good on race tracks. May be the next viper will even better
You guys do realize that the Demon ran a faster ET on 2 of the 3 races, right? If you look at the time slips, the Demon had a better 60' time, a better 330 time, a better 1/8 mile time, a better 1000' time, and a better 1/4 mile time. Doesn't it stand to reason that the Huracan reached the finish line first because of the better reaction time of the driver? Also, I would bet that the first race was so different because the Demon driver was trying to manually shift the transmission & banged the rev limiter in the first 2 gears. I also bet that he left it in auto for the other 2 races. Put a better driver in the Demon and the Dodge would have won all 3 races. And before anybody bitches about how I'm a Dodge fan, forget about that. I'm merely stating the facts shown on the time slips and my observation of the video.

Yes. It's a hog. And the transmission and the rwd system is the problem. The Engine is inefficient when you see the HP to Torque ratio. If they would address the engine efficiency, and the power to the wheels issues, this car would be a beast. The car's weight wouldn't be too much of a factor but it would probably just get faster and faster if they addressed it by adding more carbon fiber to it. That would definitely drive the price of the car up, but that's why lambos and super cars costs so much. They have that kind of technology everywhere including the engine's efficiency, and the power to wheels efficiency.
@@inight4627 I will agree with you on a track but not on a strip. Take a Demon on a strip and know basic launching skills and it will beat all German, British, and Italian cars. Take a Demon on the Nurbergring against any of the above, and the demon will get smoked. Even a Camaro ZL1 will smoke a Demon on a track.
This was a solid match up and in the real world the engineering of the lambo awd and launch control will have it be more consistent than a rwd high HP car like the Demon. Good runs
What kind of burnout is the Demons driver doing @ 2:50? I'm no expert but I've watched enough street racing, no-prep, and track racing to know that the drivers perform their burnouts closer to the start line and then proceed to back the car up directly into the tire path of the freshly laid rubber providing the tires optimum grip at takeoff. Am I missing something here?
Does anyone know if the Demon ever hit a 9 second quarter mile in a customer's hands? I love the Demon, it's an awesome machine, but it sucks to see it getting beat by all these exotics that weren't built for the drag strip, plus they don't need drag tires, 100 octane fuel, warming up tires before each run, etc. etc.
The 720s wiped the floor with the Demon, not sure if the Demon was on 100 octane then, but it definitely hooks up way better. I agree it's a huge downfall to require absolute perfect conditions on the strip, it's an unrealistic expectation. Customers should easily replicate the 9.65 as advertised.

The listed specs say it is a an LP 610-4 but also that it is rear wheel drive. Not possible. Which is it? Is it an LP 580-2 or a 610-4? If it is the latter, it is all wheel drive.
First, ive got no horse in this race. The Demons driver totally duffed the first launch, aced the second, and was a bit slow off the line on the third. The Huracan's driver aced the first two launches, and may have jumped the third.
Invader not consistently just hero runs and long cool downs . The hurcan can run 10-4-0.6 all day long back to back at 129-131 in cold weather or hot and run a 10 on the street, sounds better , can handle and corner and brakes on a dime= better car mopar fan boys get over it and pull the pads out of yalls vaginas

The rawness of the demon is just so cool. The Lambo is like a Patriot missile....the Demon is like good ol conventional Moab. Both very exciting cars I would imagine.
The owner of the demon clearly has a lot of money, but he certainly lacks driving talent! He constantly sleeping at the lights, and runs consistently slower than every other stock demon on RUclips. 10.4 is consistently slow and yes there is a big difference when others like demonology run 10.2’s consistently- 2 car lengths on average!
Guess you have no clue about drag racing and the way different tracks have different conditions. DA, temp, humidity, altitude play a huge factor. Makes a huge difference. A car can run consistent 10.5's at one track and then run 10.2's at another track.
It really comes down to the technology in each car, that Lambo has an amazingly complicated and effective launch control that requires little skill to operate. The Demon is faster, just needs a good driver.
now i can say it with certainty...u only try to undermine American cars first with Corvette then with Ford GT and now Demon...everyone saw that the demon beat Aventador so it can easily beat Huracan...do your best but u wont succeed to dishonor American cars :)

He won the time. How the race is won or lost depends on the track. Half the time people focus on whatever car is in front but time starts when you start on a lot of these tracks. Demon had better times on the slips so it went off when he launched
Man. I have a bit of a bias when it comes to the Demon. Race two was spot on, but man what did he do on race 3? Did he fall a sleep, took one to many sips of ice coffee? He was so late on the throttle. Grrr. Lol.

DragTimes e85 is probably no better than race fuel for horsepower. And he only put injectors because of the e85. His exhaust work consists of cat deletes. In total he has 2400 into the car and over 1000 was spent on the injectors. So technically he could have changed the pulley and tuned it, stayed on race gas and ran the same numbers. That would have brought him down to under 1400 total. How much would it take for you 720 to run a 9.3? The spark plugs in that car probably cost more than 1400

I always said I don't understand why these guys spend 90k on a car to rip it apart when you could spend half and get the same results. However, for the price of that Hurican you can have a stock Demon, the Fox body you evidently like so much and probably a give year old viper to have fun with on a track.
I'll have to agree on that, m8. The Demon, though 2-300 lbs lighter than the Hellcat, is still a heavy bitch. But 840hp is a tremendous amount of power. If timed correctly, the Demon would've launched with all that power behind its rear tires and smoked the Lamborghini.
The Demon had the best times 2 out of 3 of the races. Do you understand the numbers behind drag racing? Actual car down the strip time is what measures the cars performance . The Demon driver sucked but the Demon ruled in the performance numbers. So yes the Demon is so much cheaper and also superior in the quarter mile especially if you add the weight factor in. Demon is an awesome cruising street car that literally wastes these exotic pansy cars.

Good question, and no it has not. The fastest stock tire demon run by anyone is currently a 10.23. Check the demon/hellcat forum for proof.

So although the Lambo is priced like it is because it is made in a different country, if the Demon was made in Germany, in it's current state, it would cost $180K or more to the American market.. The problem with the Demon is that compared the Lambo, is quite inefficient. The HP to torque ratio and the usage of power to the wheels is the Demon's issue. American Engineers seem to have blinders on when it comes to this one issue.
The Italians have made incredible advancements in the area of HP to Torque efficiency.
With this said, if Dodge hired the engineers at Lamborghini to come in and tweak the Dodge Demon, you would have an 800HP Super car, with a price tag of $190K and a top speed of 210MPH or more and the weight would be more like 3,600LBS..
0-60MPH would be more like 2.1 to 2.4 seconds.. Why? Because the Dodge Demon is not a bad car, it's just a damn hog. And that's the idea that Dodge was going after. They were not trying to build a Super Car, they were building a 1960's type of car for today. That's it. MUSCLE CAR for today, but with yesterday's Glory.. Get it?"

The rawness of the demon is just so cool. The Lambo is like a Patriot missile....the Demon is like good ol conventional Moab. Both very exciting cars I would imagine.
The owner of the demon clearly has a lot of money, but he certainly lacks driving talent! He constantly sleeping at the lights, and runs consistently slower than every other stock demon on RUclips.
10.4 is consistently slow and yes there is a big difference when others like demonology run 10.2’s consistently- 2 car lengths on average!

Guess you have no clue about drag racing and the way different tracks have different conditions. DA, temp, humidity, altitude play a huge factor. Makes a huge difference. A car can run consistent 10.5's at one track and then run 10.2's at another track.

DragTimes e85 is probably no better than race fuel for horsepower. And he only put injectors because of the e85. His exhaust work consists of cat deletes. In total he has 2400 into the car and over 1000 was spent on the injectors. So technically he could have changed the pulley and tuned it, stayed on race gas and ran the same numbers. That would have brought him down to under 1400 total. How much would it take for you 720 to run a 9.3? The spark plugs in that car probably cost more than 1400
