This looks amazing. Reminds me of when my dad used to come to Johannesburg and visit me. He used to make a big batch and freeze it in portions for me for whenever I needed it. Thanks for bringing back these memories to me. Always great watching your videos.
Thank you kindly 😊 Green chilies can be used, I have used dried chilies as it adds more flavor & has more of a kick to it, but yes green chilies can definitely be used. For the tamarind concentrate, mix 2 tablespoons of the tamarind to the 2 cups of water & continue with the same methods as above. You can always add more of the tamarind concentrate during the cooking process if you find it isn’t strong enough.
Shalini Naicker thank you, I have advised at the beginning of the video as well as the end of it, the title and the description that quantities and ingredients can be found on eatmeerecipes.co.za 👍🏼
Hi Denisiya, love the video. My mom in-law taught me to make it with pieces of chicken (fillets) so my husband prefers it this way. It is different from your traditional way (my granma taught me this way as well) but it is quite tasty with the chicken :-)
Did not see you add the main ingredient whole dried red chilli... That's how mom taught me how to make with the whole dry red chillies. That's how we joburg people make it. Just saying
Thx for sharing. God bless
Veronica Naidoo you’re welcome 😊

I notice that the rassum you prepare is thick, most of the rassum soups I have eaten are a lot thinner
You can blend it down if you want a more weaker consistency 👍

2:18 I added dried chilies 😄👌
