Hey bud really glad you made this video finally got a winch and was stumped with the solenoid box and wiring. This is gonna help tremendously tomorrow during the rest of my install
Thanks for this video. My winch on my RC is starting to run on it's own periodically. It took out the stock red tow hook and the winch hook. I thought it was the switch so I got another one. I wrapped the rope around my front bar and again my winch triggered again and bent the bumper bar. So I need to see why it's periodically running on it's own without me even hitting the switch
Did the winch kit or wiring harness kit come with the winch switch? I'm talking the part that plugs into the switch control. Just trying to figure out what I need to order. Great video thanks!
Just got a winch and also have the same bumper, doesn't that metal the winch bolts to look a little thin? How's it holding up? Im a little concerned about the strength of that plate it bolts to messing the front end up or pulling out
@TheCanAmCrew I bought the badland 5000. Thanks for the reply. That gives me some peace of mind, I was worried about that plate it mounts to only being ⅛"
@@aaroncardona5819 there is a small black plastic connector with 2 wires strapped up under the dash from the factory. Basically above the middle but favors the driver side. I can be tough to locate. The other battery connection is under the side panel on the passenger side. Youll have to take the seat out. First then the black plastic cover. It’s just a small junction you can hook to.
@@TheCanAmCrew the first oil change I did they gave me xps 5w40 synthetic blend and my 2nd change they gave me 0w40 full synthetic and said it was better and I asked if it would hurt the motor to switch and they said it wouldn’t know the difference so hopefully it’s fine
@@jamiesonbartl4369 the 0-40 oil says it’s for 500cc and up v twin engines. The 5-40 oil is specific to the 900 ace motor which is what we have. I’m strict on running what they call for. If it were mine I would go back to the brp recommended 5-40 oil.
Only a real man gets his wife a winch for Valentines day! You da man

Great instructional video! A lot of folks are intimidated by winch hook ups. This video will help a lot of people!!

I hope you get that figured out, unfortunately we’ve never had that issue so I won’t be much help there. Thanks for watching.

Yes, it came with everything needed
@@TheCanAmCrew Good deal Thank you! Going this route to achieve a nice clean install.
Another awesome video
Thank you 🙏🏻 🤘🏻
So I have a base model without a front bumper!! So I've gotta have a bumper first, to mount a winch?
Yes, unfortunately these don’t come ready to bolt a winch on.

We haven’t had any issues. We now run a badlands apex 5500 long drum and everything has been great.

@@TheCanAmCrew were you able to install both of the winches without removing the bumper?
@@InterWebLegend yes.
How's your winch holding up ? I wasn't impressed with the can am winch at all.
@@jimjones4345 this winch let me down in a video we did about 1-2 years ago at AOAA. I’ve since gone to a badlands 5500 apex and it’s been perfect.

There’s no power running where can I find the accessory cable on my2021 maverick x3 max ds ?
Are you talking about the accessory cable under the dash or behind the side panel where the passenger seat goes.
@@TheCanAmCrew can’t find either or

What engine oil do you guys run ? The dealership I got mine from gave me 0w40 xps full synthetic
We run the can am recommended xps 5-40 synthetic. They come in kits at the dealer.

What torque specs did you use to torque down the bolts you use to mount the winch to the frame?
I’m sure there are specs for it but I didn’t torque the bolts.
