Buddhism arose as a protest to the ritualistic Hinduism, where the priests held control over people. While the people were fed up of the priestly control, came Buddha, a fresh breeze, which swept away the previous frustration! 'Desire is the cause of all sufferings' is not Buddha's original. That idea has been in India long before Buddha. The original philosophic contribution of Buddha is that he concluded that objects animate and inanimate keep changing every second! It is not correct to call Buddhism a faith. There is no belief system in Buddhism or Jainism or for that matter in Hinduism, just as they have in Christianity or Islam. The idea is to emulate Buddha, and seek the ultimate truth as he did. In that sense Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism are seeking religions which adhere to Dharma! So Hindus, Buddhists and Jains are called seekers, not believers and these religions are called Dharmic religions! In fact the decline of Buddhism started because, there was not another Buddha to lead the people and Buddhists ended up doing what Buddha forbade them to do- worshiping another God, Buddha! They started preserving the bones and teeth of Buddha and held them in reverence. In fact Dharmic religions do not give importance to the body, which came from the earth and will return to the earth! It is the soul which takes another body in another life and is given importance. Today many rituals are conducted around this body parts and it is ironic that Buddhism arose as a revolt against ritualistic practices! It would not be wrong to say that Buddhism is Hinduism minus the rituals and the plethora of Gods! Buddhist practices such as yoga, meditation, martial arts etc were in existence before Buddha. This comment is not with the idea of hurting anyone, only to keep the record straight. Thank you.

Normal people hate muslim. But the Buddhists don’t
@@S.C08 yes, because everyone has their own buddha inside
Thank you.

Wait Buddhists worship Buddha? Don't they just venerate him like Christians do with saints?
@@imerror6224 yes they do not worship him, or at least they agree that they shouldn't. However, buddhists during those times ended up doing just the same, and many hindus even to this day consider buddha to be another avatar of the main trinity. I think, if buddha or buddhists would have formed some sort of lineage of gurus like the sikhs, or the shias or Baha'is, etc. They would have been able to preserve the original concept on which buddhism was founded. Today, all buddhists do, or at least aim to do is imitate buddha, instead of applying his "principles & teachings" of "morality & mortality" to the real world.

India and Bangladesh forgot their Buddhist past.
India definitely hasn’t. Buddha is an avatar of Vishnu even in Hinduism. The 9th avatar I believe...

@@Kamal-ju6qx Learn about the caste system and how it was corrupted. How dare you think that I follow the current form of the caste system!? The original cast system was a mobile system where each did according to his/her merit. You are a Buddhist, I expected you to know more about our shared past... can anybody explain why Buddhism disappered in India and replaced by Hindusm?Like Hindusm divided people to four caste,i really don't understand why people like to follow this religion, because your destiny already settled due to your birth....
There were some militant hindu opposition to buddhism like brahmin kings like pushyamitra who aggressively persecuted buddhists and destroyed buddhist monasteries and converted to hindu temples. We can still see buddha statues with head chopped off in many previous buddhist majority areas in india.
@@alangervasis i see, similar to islamism, join us or you die,no other options, that's why buddism disappered in south and west asia;Even buddism now still exist in east and sothern asia,it never became a role which could unified the politics and religon, not like Islam and Christian, why they can survice, just because these two religions don't spread to that area
@@presundryer Buddhism too has a fair share of blood on its hand. Don't act like an innocent. Buddhist kings too killed hindus and ajivikas in mass slaughter.
