- How to install AKAI MPC expansion on both hardware & the software version using the "expansion manager". This step by step guide should help you understand the process. Please note if you own an MPC ONE. You'll need a computer with a SD Card slot (because you can't transfer files via controller mode)!

Exporting the expansions had me stuck, but this vid helped me out. I'd installed a drive inside of the MPC Live II, so I didn't need to use an SD card; this is the part that was confusing. When selecting which drive to export to, just select the proper one. I've still got some things to sort out, but again this helped out a lot. Thanks.

Thanks bruh!! We learn new things everyday!! See I was doing this BUT I was not opening up the MPC software to make sure it was in there correctly first!! You made sure it was there, then TRANSFERRED the kit from there to the Retro!!! I was bypassing the software altogether!! It would show up on the SD card, but you couldn't SEE it when you hit EXPANSIONS on the Retro!! See, see, 😆🤣😂!! You learn something new everyday!! Thanks bruh!!👊🏾💯

Bruh! Thank you thank you for this video. I bought a bunch of MPC software during a recent sale and thought I wasted all my money because I couldn't figure out how to install it on my Live II. I had given up and figured I was just dumb and bought the wrong version. This is so lit boss, I'm super stoked to try this out on my MPC.

Thanks bro! Yeah if it’s mpc one u don’t need to put the mpc in controller mode. Just place the sd card in your computer, andexport the expansion pack to your sd card. It worked for me. Thanks hommie!

sir got the Live 2 and you are a hidden gem . Add a 2TB SSD I got it for from a buddy for free. Im an IT tech so the connecting hardware and format process I used for work.

what up Ave! dummy question...i have a pretty stacked studio space with cords and cables at times getting switched around. i have an mpc one as more of a portable idea tool for the couch or outside (via omni+20 ac adapter battery) my question is if i maybe mixed up where my mpc one usb cable is does it hinder some of the features such as this. ive had a bit of trouble getting expansions to the mpc one standalone, however, i havent tried with this complete tutorial step by step. thanks for the help and keep up the good material.
Appreciate your tutorials big dog, question is how do I export kits from the MPC one hardware to the MPC software. Want to get the drummachine kit classic 808 specifically that came on the MPC one onto the software. I downloaded the 808 expansion packs not he aka website but were only bass sounds trying to get the kit. Thanks

Question: installed MPC beats and the size is normal however the plugins that are installed Goo is very small, how can you enlarge it?

Isn't it a better idea to install your expansions on an external or separate drive than your system drive? Does the software allow that cus that's basically what happens with the standalone units. I haven't seen anyone talk about install on separate drive. kinda like how native instruments allow you to install the plug ins anywhere you choose, especially if you happen to have a ton of expansions.

hello, I have an MPC live and my question is: can I install somehow the expansions without having the iMPC software intalled on my laptop? Can I take the .exe file on an SD card and just plug the card into the MPC?

Hey I downloaded the trapsoul pack and they read on computer but not on my mpd 218. Is there another step to get it to work on my pads? The other f9 pack etc works fine

Hey Ave, I found the problem out. It was the update that I needed, but hey, I have another question, on the Akai Pro website, it has Loom, Xpand 2, Velvet and other plugins that say (Live,One)... I'm just wondering, can those be loaded into the software, and then transferred into an sd card to put into the MPC One, or are they only vst plugins for the software? It says they are free, but I can't get through with the activation code from my MPC One activation code, or are they only for the Live? I don't understand why they would put (Live/One) on there? Are any of these expansions free from Akai Pro? Or can't the Loom, Xpand 2 and Velvet be used in the MPC One?...SBN RESONATE

Hi Ave. Thanks for all your amazing informative videos. Question: When installing an expansion on the MPC software, does it automatically install it on the C: drive? Can I install the expansion on a different hard drive? Or move it from the C: drive to the other hard drive?
I am also curious about this. My C drive is pretty much maxed out as it is, but I have 3 other drives I would rather install it to..... guess I'm gonna have to figure out how to change the path for file access

@@RonaldMark I ended up just temporarily clearing some space on my c drive. You can move your stuff all to another drive, delete it, then install all the packs on your c drive, load em into your MPC and then delete the unpacked stuff from your c drive if you want and move the old stuff back. Kinda inconvenient, but I got everything loaded into my MPC now so, I ain't mad.

Just purchased a brand new Live 2, when I checked the internal memory, it’s said that there was only 3 GBs out of 14.5 GB of memory left. I haven’t saved anything. Any ideas on why this is? And how can I free up some memory?
