Akai has been on a roll for past few years. They are giving customers so much and not charging for most of it. A brilliant move. They have my loyalty toward their products. Bravo Akai.
I just got used to MPC workflow, literally! Having DAW background, it really took time for me to get used to it. And now, here they come with their brand new DAWish version.. Sheeeitt!
I can’t wait for this. I’m finally feeling comfortable with navigating the hardware and software for both production and performance, and the updated UI and shortcuts are a looking really nice.
The update is coming. They have been communicating with us that it’s coming. I don’t know how to feel about this sudden good customer service. I hope now that both are basically the same we get updates at the same time as well. Force users have been beta testers for far too long. The lack of customer service has caused most of the people who dropped videos to quit. It got so bad for us that we now have a mod team that basically developed an add on to address the lack of features. We have been asking them to make it open source so our mod team can fix the problems because we all know what they are and have lived with them for years.
Holy sheeeeeeeeeeet 😮🔥🔥🔥🔥🙏🏾 man I'm hyped. I work solely on mpc and always hope for a updated version. Sheeesh it looks so clean. CANT WAIIIITTT!!!!! 😅😢
@AveMcree this is The Update we’ve all Been Waiting For It’s Finally Here and only thing Left to Do Akai Is to Be Able to Upgrade Ram And HDD Preferably SSD In All The MPC’s and Everything else in Competition Is Dead In The Water 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Ok. I’m an old MPC head. I love the 2000xl, kept my 1000 & 5000. This actually might make me buy a newer MPC. I have the studio 2 but I’m not a huge fan of it or the MPC 2 software. This looks like it’s more in line with what I’m looking for.
I am dyslexic and took ages for me to learn the MPC 2. It would be nice to have an update with classic view so that we have the power of the MPC 3 in the background but the MPC 2 feel.
Wow this is an amazing video as usual big Up yourself for always keeping us in the MPC community updated you do such a great job,I have one question will all my 2.0 projects be compatible?????other than that I purely can't wait...Much Love,Bless🙏🏾
Lmao 🤣 I like seeing Ave get excited 😂I love the video brotha and thanks to Akai. Now I'm gonna have to invest and get back into, and I'm ready to watch them cook up bruh! 💯
Thanks Ave, this makes my MPC a whole new Box! OOOOffff disk streaming? time to get a bigger Hard Drive for this Bad Boy. Looking forward to Your tips and tricks as well as some Cookups. Thanks again for ALL you have done and are doing for the community. Always remember.....If You ain't got No Haterzzzz, Ya' doin' something wrong.
Ave I respect you and your channel! This update is mostly cosmetic but I do a have a few ideas to use those 8 layers (using 16 levels and velocity)... We need a little more though. We need Midi regions (like a group of midi or time selection within a track) in the arranger view. We need the ability to organize the loaded samples in folders. Sandbox third party plug-ins when using the software on the computer. Other than that, Im excited to get another Akai product. Now just have to decide the Force or the Key...
Akai just kills it ALL THE TIME!! Started in 2011 with maschine and it’s like watching an old friend who had it all going for them but just constantly made bad choices and is shell of themselves now… Akai actually listens to their users and constantly innovates. And this shit is free!? Insane
I love the DAW approach. I am much more comfortable with that UI. I also love the combination of the classic MPC functionality. Cant lose with this monster.
I absolutely love it! One of the things that used to irk me was not being able to move the effects around. Plus when I moved from Maschine to the MPC that whole thing with the programs was confusing. Getting rid of that is gonna decrease the meaning curve for a lot of newcomers. Thank you for the video. 👊🏽🤩
That’s the same thing I thought! Too much going on in every screen. As convenient as it might be, it’s definitely gonna be too distracting and gonna need to take more breaks from that screen now 😂
Definitely been waiting for a revamped mixer and the arranger looks like a game changer. Do you know if we will be able to use the arranger across sequences, like in song mode? Or would we just have to dump everything into an entire sequence to get the same effect? Also, I'm curious how drum kits will be treated now that there are no more programs; Will each sound in a kit get its own track? And if not how would I adjust each sound? I'm sure they've already thought about it and there's an answer to this question, just got to get my hands on it. Excited none the less; appreciate the info Ave.
Maschine Is dead, it's over. completely. Akai has walked them boys down! Bear in Mind even before the MPC 3.0 they were already needing to play catch up with features that the MPC have. -Stem Seperation -Key detection -Tuner -Realtime Time Stretch -Warping (after chopping, and NO, audio plugin does not do the same thing) -Track/Pad Muting -Sampler flexibility (Stereo>mono, gain change, extract, etc) -MP3 Compatibility
@@thebl8nlyblatantnetwork I know about 2 people in the forums that are testing the beta and while they haven't given me specifics because NDA, what I do know is enough for me to be rubbing my hands on anticipation
As a huge fan of the Maschine, i've been eyeballing a Live2 for a while now, but the software is what kept me in doubt. This looks more like i 'expect' it to work, and looks very appealing. One thing i noticed though, everything looks kinda 'touchscreen' minded, but is this for explanation purpose and is most of it also controllable with the hardware knobs, buttons and pads? I really want to get a more traditional hardware/muscle memory thing going, not treating it like an iPad with pads basically. Sorry if this is a dumb question but my last mpc was the 3000 so i'm out of the loop when it comes to modern MPC's.
oh lord, bout time akai :) remember the confusion with my first mpc compared to what i was used to on software and other boxes. it can be cumbersome at first
I use MPC nowadays mainly for... film scoring. That's right, I write stuff in linear fashion. One workflow I've developed is writing standalone bulk of the stuff and then launch same project in controller mode with LINK sync. That allows me tempo changes. So Ableton has the film and all the multitracks and I track MPC into Ableton using Blackhole audio driver. Basically track solo each part until I record everything I need into Ableton for further work. I guess 3.0 isn't available in software form for now. Also I found that Ableton control mode is really cool when mixing. I put good channel strip on each track in Ableton and I can work with it pretty confidently using Live Control mode on my MPC. I think I focus more on the music when doing that. If I mix with my eyes I tend to be unproductive and dig into details too much. I'm glad they've ditched 'instant track mute' checkbox and made track/program as one. You should show how you would work with midi track routed to program to show off legacy workflow (midi mute).
I recently made the transition from Ableton to an MPC because I wanted the freedom of being able to take my gear with me. My jaw DROPPED when I saw arranger mode 😍 I CANT WAIT
Dude I just started making beats again after a 20 year hiatus. I just bought my first MPC. I got the One Plus and just started getting used to it. It looks to me like I'm going to have to relearn it all over again.
This is great but whats funny is the Akai Force has had the Linear Arranger, Enhanced Drum Grid, Track and Pad mixer, Disk Streaming for a couple years now. It's great to see they have found a way to combine with the MPC workflow (... and I most definitely will be using it with my MPC X) but with all this hype people could of just grabbed a force 5+ years ago. Some of these features came out as early as 2019 on the Force.
This is crazy this is going to make my workflow so much better. At this point they acting like Microsoft in music production. I’ve been apart of the Akai family for over 20 years and they still impress me.
Great video. 3.0 looks amazing. There will be so much less jumping between screens! I love the new colors, too. I was never a huge fan of the old red theme.
I'm going to wait until MPC 3.0 is available in Controller mode. It makes no sense to have two different operating systems, one for stand alone and one for controller mode. The update is long over due, I rather just have to deal with just one operating system instead of switching between two.
I hated my MPC and was about to sell it simply because of the UI. think i'll hang on to it and check this update out. the arrangement screen alone is a game changer
This is DOPE!!!!!! I'm very impressed with the new layout and the new features Akai added. It's looking more and more like my Force!!! However, I do have a few questions regarding bug fixes as well as workflow enhancements I would like to see in these newer machines that already existed in older MPCs but were unfortunately omitted in the current generation of MPCs. 1. Did Akai finally fix recordable track mutes and solos when recording track mute and solo events? The recorded track mute events would get screwed up as soon as you hit solo to solo a track while recording in the track mute screen. This bug has been around forever. 2. Also, did Akai add a copy and paste function in the naming screen (like on the older MPCs. 4000, 2500, etc..) where you could copy and paste names to prevent you from having to manually retype everything over and over just to only make a slight change of only one or two characters? 3. Did Akai add a function to allow you to enter a fixed midi note velocity amount or value for all "prerecorded" midi notes on a selected midi track? This feature also exists on the older MPCs like the 4000 and the 2500, but it was sadly omitted in the current generation MPCs. On the older MPCs, you highlight the track velocity field on the main screen and press the "Window" button and a window containing this function will appear. This is definitely a function I used a lot, and I would like to see it brought back. 4. Does 3.0 now offer an option in screensaver mode for the screen to turn off completely while idle, not just dim? This would preserve the life of the display. 5. And last but not least, Did Akai finally fix it to where the selected sample would correspond to whatever midi note you press on a connected "external midi keyboard" while in the keygroup program edit screen or drum program edit screen just like it does when you hit a pad? This functionality exists on the older MPCs but not on the current generation unless you buy an MPC Key 61 or Key 37, which has an integrated keyboard. You can't do it on the X, Live, or One with an external midi keyboard connected, unfortunately. This would make editing drum programs and keygroup programs for keyboard mapping much easier, meaning you can assign samples to keys and edit them much faster!!! Also, I agree with some of the other posters here as well and I think they should update it with a "Classic View" with the current MPC workflow some of us are already accustomed to, but still retain all of the new functionality included with 3.0. Remember when Microsoft released a new Windows OS with a new workflow but still offered a "Classic View" that nods back to the XP era for those who want to stick with the older and more familiar workflow? Thanks for giving us a heads up on this new update. I'm definitely looking forward to it!!!
This means you can start a track in mpc and finish it in mpc software on pc without swapping daws (ok maybe until like mastering) this is an epic change. First change for standalone sequencers like ever for this.
Now I can get with this flow. I moved to Maschine before all this was a thing. The renaissance was just releasing months after I already invested in Maschine. Mind you that I owned a few MPC hardware models before I made the “digital” switch. MPC 2000, 2000XL, 3000, 5000.
looks dope i have mpc one and mpc one plus. one thing they need to do (a lot of people been asking for years) is import REX 2 (both audio and midi data) in stand alone ... then its a rap . its 120 % faster work flow. because its already chop up in place and of course you can re arrange slices . on the real .. AKAi please do it. years ago i didnt even wanna buy a mpc because no importing recycle (rex2) format. i can guarantee your marking will jump so high.
Surprised you did not utilize the 16 Q LINKS and showed what functionality it had over the other MPCs,btw still advocating for the iMPC 3 with STEMS and compatibility with the MPC 3.0...😅
Great video Ave thanks! Can you show Sample Chopping from start to finish with the new features. also Stems. I'm trying to figure out what that looks like on this main view. like do you chop right there on the main view? I notice you can adjust your drum sample right there on the main view.
Did we get vst3 support for the desktop version.? I stay in controller mode 100% of the time. This is the only downside for me with the software. Cant wait.

Looking forward to the cook ups again … Salute Ave ✌🏽
This means you can start a track in mpc and finish it in mpc software on pc without swapping daws (ok maybe until like mastering) this is an epic change. First change for standalone sequencers like ever for this.
OOOHHH THAT LAST BEAT WAS FIRE!!!
looks like a giant jump forward... that MPC Key 37 looks good!
Now I can get with this flow. I moved to Maschine before all this was a thing. The renaissance was just releasing months after I already invested in Maschine. Mind you that I owned a few MPC hardware models before I made the “digital” switch. MPC 2000, 2000XL, 3000, 5000.
I’m excited to get this but also so used to the current UI that it makes me stressed to think about adjusting lol
@ Ave king, that beat is super drippy 🔥🔥🔥ya dig peace kinfolk I never used daw so I’m hype and proud to be a mpc live 2 owner 🙌🏾👍🏾✊🏾👏🏾💪🏾
I should have purchased the MPC from the start of my journey.
I felt this one!!!! I been a fan but more of one now keep doin what u do im an artist now producing would love to be a part of the AveMcree movement
looks dope i have mpc one and mpc one plus. one thing they need to do (a lot of people been asking for years) is import REX 2 (both audio and midi data) in stand alone ... then its a rap . its 120 % faster work flow. because its already chop up in place and of course you can re arrange slices . on the real .. AKAi please do it. years ago i didnt even wanna buy a mpc because no importing recycle (rex2) format. i can guarantee your marking will jump so high.
Surprised you did not utilize the 16 Q LINKS and showed what functionality it had over the other MPCs,btw still advocating for the iMPC 3 with STEMS and compatibility with the MPC 3.0...😅
this is exciting. Really hope this means they got a pro level MPC in the works that we can get our hands on in the next few years
Great video Ave thanks!
Cant wait.
It looks allot like Maschine from that mixer window.
What it do Ave! I left an negative or constructive criticism comment to you and you were a CHAMP about it.Just wanted to say I apologize and keep doing what you do I respect your channel Bro much love and continue to be Blessed👍✌RB MUSIC
