Then some of my beats has a folder next to them. The ones with the P has load and the ones with the folder has open. How can I convert that folder with open to a P that says load.

    Hey Matt, say that I made a whole beat with sequences that is like 3 minute long, if I would save that project and the sequences from that song onto a file (sd card or usb stick), and then load it into fl studio, will it show up right in there like the MPC Software, without having to arrange the sequences, or will that only work in the MPC Software?

    Hi Matthew, hope you are well. I have a question, hope you can help me. I sold my MPC One to buy the Retro Edition (call me a fashion cat). I saved all my Projects on the SD card, including the project data files. Now when i put the SD Card in the new One and load a project, it loads the project with all the samples that it contained, but it doesnt load the actual sequences i had. No sequence names and i can not play the sequences i had. Can there be anything done about this....? Thanks and cheers.

    Really appreciate how practical these tutorials are. Just to be clear: these is no way to access the MPC One's memory directly through USB connection to the computer? In order to transfer files from my computer to the MPC, I have to load them directly onto the SD card, and then plug that SD card into the MPC One? Or is it possible to load onto the SD card from my computer via the MPC One?

My MPCX expansions in standalone mode are NOT in my MPC 2.0. Is there also a way to transfer my expansions to the software? Do they automatically transfer with the project information? I know I'm going to spend hundreds of dollars buy expansions but I don't want to spend another nickel unless I know I can use what I already have. Please help. Thanks!

    Hey Matthew thanks for sharing your knowledge on the MPC. I recently started using my MPC to run backing tracks, a click, my midi keyboard controller, and process vocals via an audio interface. My band and I wrote an idea in a separate MPC project but we want to have those midi Plugins and drum programs incorporated to our set. Is there a way to open sequences from one project and bring it to your new current one? Ideally I want to transfer the sequence as is with all the tracks to our set with backing tracks. I think I might need to recreate the song but I feel there has to be a way to bring an entire sequence from one project to a new one.
    Cheers, and best of luck! Thanks for the great info

    Hi Matthew, awesome videos for an MPC newbie like me. One question though. In all your videos, you have a folder icon on the main screen next to the project name. This is so useful for a lot of things. On my MPC one, it never shows. The first icon that shows is the MIDI monitor. Perhaps I accidentally hit something to make it go away. How can I get that folder icon back? Thanks and keep up the great work 😊

    hey man, new subscriber here. been watching all of these tutorials. really helpful with navigating the MPC one.
    I have the same question I saw another person post. I know you don’t get to reply to these very frequently, but if you happen to see this maybe you or another user will know what’s going on -
    I bought a San Disk 64 SD card. Months ago when I installed it, it showed right up in the Browser/Places. Hadn’t turned on the sampler in a couple months. Turned it on. Made some beats, and went to save.
    The SD card doesn’t show up. Took it out. Loaded it again, and nothing. The MPC doesn’t show it is installed 🤷🏼‍♂️
    Does it need formatted? I’m confused as to what happed when it worked fine before.

    Ok, I'm thinking about dropping the $700 for this device. I was thinking I could load an entire live set of backing tracks and just play each track by hitting a pad. Is there enough memory for this kind of thing? There's a complaint about disc streaming, I don't know if that would help or if it's a deal killer for some people. Do you have an opinion about that?

      According to Akai: "USB, HDD, and SSD storage devices have no virtual limit on the capacity of the drive while SD cards up to 32GB in size are supported."
      I suspect that it is much greater than that as Akai says the limit for the MPC One is 2 TB.

    I'm fully invested in the Maschine world with a MK3 and Komplete and expansions but I'm looking for a more portable computer-less setup for my many hotel stays. Not interested in $1400 mk3+. Does anyone else use Maschine AND an MPC One? Any thoughts on working on the MPC and then reducing wavs to a DAW? Thanks for any info.

    Great video Matthew, thank you! You mentioned a 256gb sd card. I just bought a used MPC One, I'm waiting to receive it. I have a new 256gb micro sd card with an adaptor to fit the card slot. I just wanted to know if the MOC One will accept a 256gb or is it limited to the 128gb card?

    • @MatthewStratton
      @MatthewStratton  4 года назад +1

      To biggest one that I personally have used is 128 GB. I have read in forums and on Reddit that you can use a high number. I think it depends on which Akai rep you talk to on what is supported. I think it is 32GB is officially support, at least that is what it is for the MPC Live. Are you going to use the 256 GB SD card with the MPC One?

      Matthew Stratton I was wondering this too..I ordered the MPC One, which won’t be here til May 30th or first week of June, but in the meantime I want to buy an SD card for it, so when I get it I can load the kits that come with it and my own sounds to it...I have been looking at 256gb with a range between 100-170mb/s speeds... sdxc ..I just want to know if it will work or not..I know myself, I hoard drums and sounds..and 128gb might not last me too long haha

    I am creating a techno-live set with like 8-16 songs. Would it be wise to get the fastest SD card (Sandisk extreme pro) with higher read and writing speeds? Its double the speeds of the Sandisk Ultra. Would it make any difference?

    • @MatthewStratton
      @MatthewStratton  3 года назад +1

      Be sure to read the fine print on the read speeds. From what I read those numbers need proprietary technology to reach those high speeds. The new Sandisk Ultra says 120 MB/S, but then says it is 120 with proprietary technology. Check quote from amazon description: "Up to 120MB/s read speed, engineered with proprietary technology to reach speeds beyond UHS-I 104MB/s, require compatible devices capable of reaching such speed." and the same thing for the Extreme Pro: " transfer speeds up to 170MB/s [requires a compatible device capable of reaching such speeds, such as the SanDisk SD UHS I card reader (sold separately)] "
      I do not know if the MPC has the compatible technology to get the fastest speeds advertised on the Sandisk Extreme Pro. Even other brands I looked at need an adaptor of some sort to get the fastest speed that is printed on the label.

    • @jellebolijnlive
      @jellebolijnlive 3 года назад

      @@MatthewStratton Thanks for the nice comment! I went with the Extreme Pro after a comment on Reddit. Since the speeds that are being advertised are not common in the field, so the Extreme Pro that does 170 mb/s will be 100mb/s in the real.
      I found this on reddit:
      Class 10 means a minimum speed of 10MB/s but doesn't show anything about max speed. I took a flashlight to the SD card slot and it looks like there is only one row of pins. So, the best the SD bus can support is UHS-1 which has a maximum transfer speed of 104MB/s if Akai used the fastest UHS-1 bus they could get. So, it looks like you want a class 10 / UHS-1 card for sure and then anything with over a 104MB/s max speed is a waste of $ that could instead be better spent on more capacity.
      Max speed doesn't mean normal red/write speed. Sandisk Extreme Pro @170MB/s had normal speeds just under 100MB/s.

    Hello Matthew.
    Sorry if it's already been asked but I have an issue with some old projects I used to work with on my MPC One. I've put them on a SD card and tried to use them on my MPC Live II but when I go to the Main screen there's nothing.
    The weird thing is that when I open the project with the MPC Beats app on my PC I have the whole tracks with all the sequences i've made but when I open it on my MPC Live II there's nothing.
    Am I doing something wrong ? Thanks in advance !
