    Some tips for you:
    - Do not summon Thiollier. He makes Radahn harder.
    - Get a Blessing of Marika and equip it, but don't use it. Then your mimic gets infinite full heals
    - Holyproof livers (base game ones are fine, but DLC ones are better, if you have the recepie). Or (Lord's) Divine Fortification. Eat/cast when second phase starts, either standing right there in the nuke or right after avoiding it. You won't take much damage if you're buffed when the nuke hits. At least, not a catastrophical amount
    - To dodge meteors, run sideways and jump right before they hit you
    - If you're not yet using Dragoncrest Greatshield talisman, use it. Physical damage negation is good. But not instead of the Braid, but in addition to it.
    - As a last resort, respec for more endurance and get heavier armor to improve survivability
    I have beaten Radahn, without summons and without overly cheesy strats, but I agree, second phase is honestly ridiculous. First phase is hard but fair, but the second one requires a seizure warning

      Buckler and Mistericode with the new crit talisman worked so good for me. Better than anything else I tried so far.
      Phase 2 is so flashy that I started to overthink the dodges and that might be an issue for others too. Some attacks are literally just run and dodge once or twice, or my favourite: walking two steps forward to avoid his lightning dash.

      Good tips. I beat DLC Radahn yesterday. I just did it by myself without a Mimic or Thollier or Ansback. I applied Flame Grant Me Strength and Golden Vow, then just went for it. Honestly, it's a really cool battle.

  • @DreTheBae

    Tips I used to beat Radahn:
    -Roll into attacks: Radahn's light attack combos in phase 2 spawn light beams, if you roll back you will get hit. Radahn's stomp attack in phase 1 should also be dodged into otherwise you'll get roll caught by the gravel as well as his upheaval gravel attack and light beam aoe in phase 2.
    -Don't summon Thiollier and Ansbach: The increase to Radahn's health is massive and they do literally nothing. They will split agro, but at the cost of making the boss much more unpredictable which will only slow your pace when it comes to learning his attacks. Mimic is fine since it doesn't increase Radahn's health, I personally didn't use it so I could fully learn his attacks without relying on split agro but if you find it helps then use it.
    -Dual swipe bullshit: Dodge the first attack, block or accept damage from the second (it comes out too fast to roll out of) and recover quickly to dodge into the final attack to avoid the shockwave he can send out. If you keep your health topped, the damage from the attack that you tank shouldn't throw you off too much and you'll be able to recover.
    -Clone spam attack: Focus on dodging the real Radahn's slam attack at the end of the combo, since the clones to minimal damage and will only throw you off if you start spam rolling. The clones might stagger you making it difficult to dodge the final attack so keep moving.
    General tips: Spend time memorising Radahn's moveset without summons for a more straightforward learning curve.
    Phase 2: Remember that phase 2 primarily will repeat the same phase 1 movesets, albeit with with added light beams. If you roll into these attacks the light beams will spawn behind you and they will not be a problem. ofc the boss has new moves that are difficult to deal with but the main light combos are the attacks that can fuck you up the most since the light beams can stagger you and throw you off will result in Radahn bodying your ass with his swords.
    You can do it bro, gl.

    He was insanely overtuned, and insanely difficult for me to kill. At the end of the day, I was fighting a demigod that was regarded as the strongest, with another full on God on his back to aid him. I don't wish it was any easier, I believe it should have been exactly as hard as it was fighting a character like Radahn, it does him justice.

    Try without summons, or at least without Thiollier, the split aggro makes it harder to predict what's gonna happen, and get used to rolling into him rather than away from him. And if Thiollier dies early, you're now stuck fighting a buffed Radahn solo. If you know you're gonna get hit by that massive AOE he does in 2nd phase, it's better to just stay under him and get some free hits on him when he returns to the ground. and if you're open to switching builds, I used a strength build and would try to time it so that I would stagger him right after he transitions to phase 2 (in an ideal scenario he would stagger right before the AOE is going off so I would be invulnerable while it's happening)
    Alternatively, switch to a cheesy tank build and eat all his hits and heal through em or summon one of the people who play like that
    You got this

      Spot on. Also, I don't know about you. But thollier and the other dude kept getting in my way. Made ot hard to hug Radahn and dive through some of his attacks. I also find him more predictable when we're squaring off directly. When he switches from attacking an ally to attacking me, it fucks me up.
      I still haven't beaten him. But one on one, I can easily clear his first phase, and I'm getting alot better.

  • @SpremeCalami
    @SpremeCalami 2 месяца назад +3

    I beat him at scad level 19 with Backhand Blades +25. No summons or cheese or shield or bleed. Took me roughly 10-15 hours. You thought this was gonna be a flex “actually really easy☝️🤓” comment huh. Not at all, this boss is no joke. What you need to do is just experiment with coming up with unique, different ways to hit and dodge. Don’t try to win every fight because you end up being too careful and not getting enough damage in to justify time spent dodging and healing. Focus instead on building up a catalogue of responses for every combo and positional circumstance. With this technique I ended up consistently doing the 1st phase hitless, getting hits in during combos, dealing some serious damage. When you learn the combos and become a robot that just responds to what radahn is doing, the fight becomes a lot easier.
    .
    A trick for the 2nd phase: don’t go in for the hit at the start, just immediately run backwards and you will dodge the nuke with room to spare. Also, with the extra magicy copies that go before him in certain attacks. Do not worry about them much at all, they deal very little damage and deal very little poise damage when guarding, even with something like a katana or small weapon. Guarding against them and counting how many there are is a great way to say “1, 2, 3, 4, ROLL” (note that there is always 4 mirages before the real radahn) and usually be successful. Other than that you have the right technique for the light beams to dodge around the boss.
    .
    Remember, you are literally fighting the most powerful demigod being empowered by the most fearsome god ever seen. And we’re just a lowly Tarnished. This fact makes the fight fun for me because the odds are so overwhelmingly against us that it doesn’t make me angry when I die, it is completely reasonable that a human being would struggle to fight THIS. It’s no wonder we get our ass kicked. Don’t disregard the scar fragments either, they are seriously pivotal and I probably would have spent an extra 10 hours if I hadn’t looked up a guide on every fragment location. It’s a chore but going from lvl 13 to 19 (yes I missed one and yes it keeps me up at night) was such a huge change in damage output and damage taken. +30% damage dealt and -30% damage taken almost felt like cheating it was so much nicer. Good luck man. Sorry for the long ass comment

    So to those people saying "Yeah I beat this boss, it took me like 8 to 15 hours, but then it felt great!"... Why would I do this to myself? Because if I spend, let's go with the middleground so11 hours on one single boss, why in the flying fuck would I? Do you know what I can do with 11 hours of my life? At that point I'm not just playing a game, at that poijt I'm starting to actively waste my time on this earth. Now this might be subjective, but what isn't when it comes to games, so I'mma spit out my opinion anyways: if I beat a single boss after that much time, I wouldn't even feel anything anymore. I would not even close the game, I'd just put down the controller and make something to eat. I find no enjoyment in grinding myy teeth into a wall for so long I forget why I do it. I've got 50 tries against Isshin in my logbook, but that took like 2.5 hours and I could see what I was doing there. 11 hours holy shit that's like 200 tries at that point! I could write a poem in that time, change out a window, and still have time to make dinner. That's the time it took me to beat Pantheon of Hallownest for the first time! That thing is 43 bosses back to back plus an entire ending! I could do so much with 11 hours of my life that at some point I would have to ask myself why I am not doing anything else! Am I having fun? Well no, after 11 hours I'd be tired of doing the same thing over and over again. So what is the point? I mean I guess I could fathom that there are some people who'd be having fun with that, but... I don't get how... Maybe that's a me problem. Maybe these people have Stockholm Syndrome. Maybe they know something I don't. But if they keep telling me that I might have to keep trying and it might take me 11 hours. Or maybe even more, who knows, then if I knew that beforehand, I would just look up the ending on RUclips or just a cheese strat. And beyond that, mate I got shit to do. I've gotta walk the dog, sleep, make food, work, renovate, etc. etc.... And within that limited freetime I got I wouldn't wanna devote so much of it to the same thing over and over again against the same thing. At least with P5 I can fail against 43 more or less different bosses, not one over and over again!

    this boss is hard, I’ve beat him twice, first a bit o cheese, big shield and scarlet rot, second time with colossal swords. My advice ,is stack the defensive talismans and eat the crab before entering the arena, this makes the damage much more manageable. there is 3 moves where you can go for a changed heavy. That spin things he usually do at the start. That stomp at the ground at the end of the combo. and that three swipes that end in the cross cut. Also avoid summons because they make his HP just too dang high.

    Man, i feel this haha… usually i evolve pretty consistently when fighting bosses, but i’m just so incompatible with Radahn that no matter if i see what he is doing and know how to dodge it, i simply get hit most of the time, makes me feel like i’m playing for the first time hahaha. I beat him with just the mimic, because if you summon the NPCs Radahn basically becomes a raid boss. I couldn’t heal and got hit all the time, so i profited out of that and spamed prayerful strike alongside my mimic and it was challenging even then.

  • @Redeemednorabbi
    @Redeemednorabbi 2 месяца назад +8

    Yeah there’s a LOT wrong with Radahn’s fight. The first phase is nearly perfect save for that shitty cross-attack (the one that is literally impossible to dodge if you’re not positioned perfectly to Radahn’s side) bugs (IE being in a bad spot in the terrain guaranteeing you get hit by the stomp AoE and Radahn sometimes ignoring i-frames cause fuck you) but second phase is genuinely unfair. The orbital lasers and Miquella’s hair are fucking horrible. You literally can’t see Radahn sometimes and every now and then you literally get hit by an attack that was only visible for like, 10 frames because Miquella’s hair blocked Radahn’s body (which, spoiler, is impossible to dodge). What’s worse is his most of his attacks WILL knock you into the lasers, which then stagger you leading to getting hit again and boom you’re dead. So, unavoidable attacks in phase 2 WILL lead to you dying if you’ve taken even a little prior damage.
    He’s REALLY fun to fight when you can actually see what’s going on but the amount of bugs and unavoidable bullshit in this fight make me think fromsoft didn’t fully test this fight and went “we’ll fix it based on how people respond.”
    My suggestion to anyone struggling with this boss is to PARRY. A lot of Radahn’s moves are braindead easy to parry once you practice a little and they stop his combos (and the orbital lasers they summon to block your screen) dead in their tracks. Use either carian retaliation or golden parry, whatever you prefer. To time your parry, use the sound of the shield. The shield itself (not the sound coming from the magical effect) makes a “swoosh” sound while its parry frames are active. Use Radahn’s phase 1 to practice your parries. The majority of his attacks can be parried- notable exceptions are the broken 3-hit cross slash I mentioned earlier (you technically can parry it but the timing is REALLY small so tank a hit from it and roll through the rest of it, one hit won’t do too much damage), the really slow two-hit heavy swing combo he does, and his lion claw (obviously). I’ve never parried the later parts of his combos (after missing 2 parries in a row I always opted to roll through the rest of the combo rather than risk it) so idk if those can be parried. But most of his attacks CAN be parried rather easily.
    It’s tricky since you need three parries in a row to stagger him but it gets braindead easy to consistently get him to 1/4 hp with 10 flasks remaining once you do.
    Some runs you can get screwed over if he spams his non-parryable moves and gravity sorceries (especially in phase two when even his farts summon holy orbital lasers) but other times good rng leads to him doing the same parryable move three times in a row, leading to a free riposte.
    I wasted 220 attempts trying to beat Radahn without parrying and it took me 40 to beat him with parrying. It’s worth it, trust me 😭

    • @c2nder928
      @c2nder928 2 месяца назад +2

      Radahn is overall very fun and fair to fight, once you learn his base moveset and the echo attacks of phase two, which once you get the hang of aren’t that bad. Fighting radahn you can FEEL his power, especially in phase two, makes for a sick fight. It’s probably possible to dodge out of the light pillars that stagger you if you spam roll and know it’s coming, but what most likely happened is that you pressed to dodge once at the normal time while you were still staggered and missed the window. If you weren’t tbh you can survive it with the right armor. Other than that don’t get hit. Radahn is the hardest boss I’ve had to kill in the history of fromsoft games, but it felt hard in a good way and not the hard that malenia gave me (pause). Her fight felt a tad artificially hard with waterfowl and whatnot but radahn gives a genuine sense of satisfaction and reminds you that you’re fighting one of the strongest in the verse.

    He's actually pretty easy. Just gotta roll forward-left on everything except his gravity attacks.
    You CAN roll forward-right, if you have the camera unlocked.
    Rolling backwards is always punished by his attacks, especially in his phase 2.
    For the meteors, sprint away from him and jump to the right, phase 2, roll back twice, then roll forward-left twice, then punish with a charged heavy.
    I like him, but he's definitely not one of their best bosses, because strafing and low-profiling rarely works on his attacks, and I LOVE low profiling after a jump attack, and avoiding an attack without rolling, best feelings in the world.

    You got this man 😎 I’m level 136 and I managed to parry him to death and with some bleed procs from my greatsword too
    Something I noticed you doing incorrectly in his second phase is dodging away from him, with most of his attacks you need to either dodge to the side or into him especially when he fills the entire stage with holy attacks after doing his spammy spam spam. One thing to look out for is his gravity magic sling he does to which he will always follow up with spammy spam spam, to counter that you need to run backwards as far as you can while he is in the air and then jump to your right when the rocks are about to hit you and run for your life while counting up to 5 attacks, you shouldn’t need to dodge any of them except for the 5th one which will track you and you need to dodge to the right to avoid, then after dodging to the right just straffe side ways for a sec and then roll forward into him through his huge holy attack, it may seem hard at first but you will get used to it after a while

    So my tips are:
    1. Run backwards IMMEDIATELY for the meteor attack. When the meteors are about to hit, jump to the left. Then keep running backwards. On his fifth of his next slashes, you need to dodge to the side and dodge inwards just *after* he swings up again.
    2. Always dodge to his side (right is better). Practice doing this on phase one.
    3. For the light beam, run backwards straight away and keep going, or, just guard block because it’s easier.
    4. Take a good rest. I beat him second try on my third day simply because I had a clear mind.

    Not gonna beat around the bush for this, this boss is an absolute mess to fight sometimes especially during phase 2. I had to resort to a great shield to block his phase attacks and his T-posing nuke in case I wasn’t going to make it out of the radius but it is very much doable without needing the tank build.
    I highly recommend learning his moves more and rolling and finding windows to heal or attack, as these only get smaller during phase 2. Rolling into him and toward his sides helps avoid the light pillars that spawn infront of him during phase two, and prevents you taking damage from his AOE moves that creep outward.
    I had Ansbach instead of Throiller for this fight and he’s pretty much the same story besides using bleed. The most Throiller can be of use is proking poison and being a distraction for Radahn so you can heal or get some easy hits in. Also since you’re using the mimic tear, I suggest putting a raw meat dumpling in your inventory as the mimic tear also copies what’s in your hot bar and can act as a free heal for about half of their HP. Don’t worry about it poisoning them, for some reason it never procs for mimic tear summons.
    Last thing, if you know damn well there’s certain attacks you won’t be able to dodge I’d suggest bringing a shield to save needing to heal. Even though I used a great shield on my build a good medium shield gets the job done like the Brass, Banished Knight’s, Beastman Jar’s, or just the kites and heater shields. Remember to upgrade for higher guard boost and go for whatever suits best for you.
    You got this buddy, beat the Miquellestor!!

    Mate the way you play does not compliment powerstance right now. You're being absurdly aggressive on one of the most resilient things in the game. If you treat this fight like a sprint you're gonna suffer the marathon.
    You basically need to invest in holy defense items and consumables. Your physik should have opaline hardtear and your main stat buff (or elemental damage buff). This boss FORCES you to use every tool at your option, there is no exceptions.

    i'd recommend getting his first phase down completely and using it to learn to stick close to him at almost all times, as well as dodge timing for his attacks
    his phase two is mostly just his phase one attacks but with the follow-up beams that punish you for not being close to him (from what i see)
    also i personally saved my mimic for phase 2 since that's much harder
    i highly recommend this video by Aiko that goes over all the different moves and dodge timings, it helped me a ton when i was sick of spending way too much time on Radahn's phase 2 lol:

    As someone who's mastered every single move of Radahn, I gotta say that this boss is simultaneously one of the best and worst bosses of the souls series. The only unfair thing I find about him is his 3 hit combo that you can't dodge and Miquella's hair covering the entire screen in phase 2 so you can't see what's going on. Everything else I have no problem with. But these two aspects of the fight make me want to bang my head against the wall whenever I fight him because that's the only reason I die.

    Just bring mimic tear. He's all you need. not bringing any other summons gets you more runes and radahn does less damage and takes more. Scimitars are also better at accumulating bleed, and attack faster than katanas. i hope this helps.

    its prolly better if u dont summon because he randomly cancels attack animations if u do and that can kinda throw of ur own attack timing
    also radhann is weak to status effect so u can effectively proc freeze/ bleed.
    and for dodging bullshit i recommand trying him out with full defence first to see the attacks and how they work.
    talismans such as dragoncrest and marikas braid work great cuz he mainly does physical and holy damage.
    u got this pal

    This is a terrible boss: first phase is tolerable but the second phase I could not see what he was doing. I played the entire game without armor, with a greataxe, and no summons: Messmer, Bayle, Gaius, all not many issues. I had to put armor on and use the Mimic Tear as I never got CLOSE otherwise.

    I think that the developers need to dial down the attack combos and make it a more fair boss fight because I think that they over did it with Radahn

  • @austin0_bandit05
    @austin0_bandit05 2 месяца назад

    I think the problem with a lot of the discourse around Elden Ring and by extension Rhadan is both "sides" are trying to categorize the boss as either GOOD or BAD when its not so black and white.
    On the one hand does one undodgable attack ruin a boss? I dont think so. But it can definitely ruin the experience for another person.
    On the other hand just because a boss is doable does that make it fun? Not necessarily. Duo Apes are perfectly doable but they're my least favorite boss in Sekiro.
    And this is such a tricky conversation to navigate when everyone is on the defensive/offensive. And because the topic is in the realm of opinion.
    Personally, I think Radhan is overtuned, sometimes unfair, and sometimes unreasonable. I specify reasonable, because just because something is possible doesn't make it reasonable or fun. I mean we could triple his health and that would be "fair" but it wouldnt be reasonable.
    HOWEVER! Some of that is subjective. And anyone who likes the boss isnt "wrong". I think if we want to open people up to the discussion we need to meet them halfway. There's a lot that we need to aknowledge that is good about the fight because they absolutely are there. I know this because if they took out what I didnt like there is a boss I do like underneath.

    my best tips are to roll into him when he uses his swords, and for the after image attack after his meteors I found running back and to the right to the first 4 then the 5th you roll to the side. I also found a lot of success using the backhand blades with bleed on them, I found a few small openings because of them. Hope this does help. I too hate this fight, I signed up for a hard fight, not to be flashbanged every .5 seconds. And 1 more thing I forgot the Backhand blades ash of war "Blind Spot" has I-frames and if you time it right you can avoid radahns ridiculously hard to avoid by normal means 3 hit combo. where if you dodge the first hit you will 999/1000 get hit by the second which in phase 2 stuns you into the 3rd hit. Really do ghope this helps.

  • @zoomies4170

    While I do agree that Radahn's 2nd phase is bullshit (only because of the amount of visual clutter), from what I've seen, you start to panic a lot whenever you get hit, especially in the 2nd phase. I chose to do this fight without spirits or summons as they generally just were more of a detriment in my experience, ESPECIALLY summons since they raise the health. My honest suggestion is to go into the boss room without weapons and just spend time trying to learn and dodge his attacks, because his phase 2 generally has most of the same moves. And once you get good at the first phase, it allows you to save your mimic for phase 2, which is honestly where you seem to be struggling more. Also, this is one of those fights where you REALLY want to roll into his attacks (honestly this applies to most bosses), but rolling in is essential if you want to avoid the chip damage from his AoEs. Also, you might want to get the Golden Braid talisman (essentially the best version of the Haligdrake Talisman) so you can really get that holy resistance up. If you're open to respeccing your character, it might be better to be around 60-70 Vigor for that extra bit of survivability. Your stats honestly seem more geared towards being able to use everything (which isn't a problem) but it means that you're missing out on damage. Personally, I'd say to go for 60 STR / 60-75 ARC as your focus, and getting any large weapon with either a Blood or Occult enhancement on it, and learning when it's safe to hit a charged heavy. More often than not, even after a stagger, if you immediately hit a charged heavy after the phase 2 transition (for some reason), he tends to immediately stancebreak, allowing you to i-frame through a majority of the nuke. Even post-nerf, Blood Bloodfiend's Arm with Cragblade is an extremely viable option, but Blood/Occult Greatsword with Lion's Claw / Savage Lion's Claw is also effective. Good luck with your future attempts!

    Radahn is sick, you shouldn’t criticize a boss so harshly if it’s YOUR fault for dying so much. If you’re miss timing rolls, using summons that give him more health and just refuse to learn his moves then maybe spend time learning the fight instead of making a whole video coping

  • @ridleak1443
    @ridleak1443 2 месяца назад

    I mean a lot of stuff you just need to learn to dodge into it. That is a common mistake people that rely on summons tend to make. But his double slash into cross combo is glitchy and cant reliably be dodged without a specific talisman. And visibility in the second phase is flawed. Also radahn being the final boss was dissappointing, i wish they introduced someone new that seems more godly. Also radahn being miquellas consort seemed like a goofy fan fiction. No multiple endings was underwhelming and the ending and cutscene itself was a major dissappointment. Radahn didnt seem important because after you beat him, not much lore is given after to make him seem more important than all the other demi gods. Radahn being miquellas choice felt so random. I would of been happy with a miquella fight, godwyn, or literally anybody new.

      @@FolIonn well no, not really, the only mandatory bosses before Radahn are Messmer and Romina, who can both be beaten with couple of summons and a bit of luck, since they just have so little health, plus he is level near 300 which sure as hell doesn't make the game any harder. The overall assumption that beating anything in the game makes you good at it is wrong, winning in chess once doesn't make you good chess player, nor does baseball nor anything else in life.
